History

Established in 2011.

Palmilla Cocina y Tequila focues on home-style Mexican cuisine featuring the freshest seafood and the finest cuts of beef, along with an amazing selection of premium tequilas. Brought to you by Greg and Ron Newman, the owners of Baja Sharkeez, and designed by Gulla Jonsdottir of Rick Bayless’s ‘Red O’ fame. There is a lovely outdoor patio area, perfect for soaking up the sea breezes from the ocean just footsteps away. Greg Newman, owner, is extremely excited about this journey into the world of fine dining. «With Palmilla, we are thrilled to be entering into an upscale segment of the restaurant business, one that has largely been over-looked in the South Bay. We are intent on wooing back the patrons that were once Baja Sharkeez fans that are now grown up, married and who desire a fine dining experience in their neighborhood. We also hope to draw foodies from out of the area, who may have never even thought of coming down to Hermosa for a great meal».

Meet the Manager

John F.

Manager

John Fox is the General Manager of Palmilla Cocina y Tequila in Hermosa Beach. After graduating from Loyola Marymount with a BA in English, he found it logical to start working at Baja Sharkeez as a bartender. John couldn’t be happier that Greg and Ron Newman gave him the opportunity to open a more fine dining venue and is excited for the progress Palmilla has made since it’s opening last year.
