Specialties
Active Paws goal is to help your pet be the best pet they can be and to help you be the best owner you can be. I offer dog walks, pet sitting (cats and dogs), trips to the dog park, taxi service, and training. I believe the key to a happy pet is physical, mental and emotional stimulation and i guarantee while your pet is in my care they will receive all three. I keep my pet parents informed of any bad behaviors that are forming so we can handle the situation asap. I also keep my pet parents informed on how great their four legged kids are doing, whether its walking better on the leash, making a new friend, or just having a fun day!
History
Established in 2007.
My career in pet care began in 2001 at Grateful Dogs Clubhouse in El Segundo, CA as a part-time daycare employee. While at Grateful Dogs i adopted a very antisocial shepherd mix, Feisty, who was my main inspiration to make the pet care industry my profession. Feisty needed alot of training and special care, after working with him for a while and watching him turn into an amazing dog/pet i new this was the path for me. Since then i have worked as a groomer, private pet sitter, dog walker, and trainer, and after six years of experience i started Active Paws.

Business Owner
In 1981 I was adopted by my parents, Dennis and Nancy, and sister Mindy in Memphis, TN. We quickly moved to Hawaii, California, and finally Kentucky where i spent the majority of my childhood. My sister and i were raised in a loving, honest, hard working, free spirited family. We have never received anything but love and support from our parents and i am so grateful for that.
As an adult i started having a relationship with my biological mother, Kimme, and was shocked to find out that she too was in the pet care industry. Kimme has about fifteen dogs, all strays, and a private pet sitting and dog walking business. I guess you could say pet care is in my blood.
In 2001 i adopted Feisty, a 60 lb. shepherd mix, he was my first pet as an adult. Shortly after Feisty came Kiah, a 50 lb. australian shepherd/german shepherd mix. I love all dogs but shepherds are my breed of choice. I also have a soft spot for «sketchy» dogs, Feisty gets the credit for that.
