Valley Ranch Animal Hospital

We are new to the area and needed a vet for our little Jack Russell who had a skin tag that needed to be removed. We tried one vet here in Henderson and were quoted $ 870 for the surgery. Shocked at this price we decided to get a second opinion.
What a relief to meet Dr. Massey at Valley Ranch. She was so kind and caring. We ended up getting the surgery done at Valley Ranch for ¹⁄₃ the price and Dr. Massey even cleaned Lucy Margaret’s teeth while she was under anesthetic.
We will never consider going anywhere else for any of our veterinarian needs. The entire staff and doctors are just amazing.

I’ve had really good experiences with this vet. I think the pricing here is very fair, the vet treats my dog well, and they are great at getting you in for your appointment. I’ve even called and had same day appointments.
I will say sometimes I feel like the front staff can’t be bothered with you or that they are just not confident in answering your questions, but they’ve always been respectful and patient overall.
I just had my dog in there this week to have dental work done. I knew based off of her breath that she was going to need some extractions, so I was prepared for a high bill. I was concerned that they may try to pull more than was necessary, but I feel like they did give me a fair appointment. First off, I like that I can choose to do the blood work. The cost is a lot, and if I could not have afforded it I did have the option to opt out of that $ 118 cost. I like that I had the option to have X-​rays, various medications, and to have a phone call first before they just pulled teeth. They also reassured me that if they could not reach me In case of necessary extractions they would wake my dog up in 10 minutes so she wasn’t under that long. My dog did need 6 teeth removed, and I was very concerned that this may not be necessary. After the vet offered to do none of them and have my dog’s health risk in my hands, pull some and come back later for the others to help with the bill, or to do it all now and not have to put my dog under again, I did have all extracted at once. When I picked my dog up that night she was groomed and well taken care of. The staff said sweet things about how she was during the day, and the vet sat down beside me to show me the work they did Ina picture and answer all of my 100 questions without giving me any sign of annoyance and nothing but patience for me as a concerned owner. My dog does have some issues with other teeth, but not anything they felt needed to have removed — just some I need to be aware of for the future and keep watch on. So I am confident they had both mine and my dog’s best interest in mind, and I will continue to use this office for my dog’s needs.

From the ladies at the front desk to the vet techs and vets-​they are the most caring group of people. We have been with them for so many years. If you are looking for a caring and awesome place you should defiantly make it a point to use them not only as a animal hospital but for boarding. We recently had to have our girl Zoe (that they cared for since a young age, put down and the staff were so caring not only for her but for me. About 4 weeks later We received a sympathy card from Valley Ranch with little notes from each doctor and the staff, brought tears to our eyes. Our heart is broken over our loss already have a new puppy.

My Kali and I always have a great vet experience here. The prices are great compared to other vets in the area. I have used them for boarding in the past and they would welcome Kali and give full updates on how she behaved when I got back… My poor girl gets anxiety when I leave her, but I trust them to give her the best care and support.

Have taken my furbabies to this vet for several years. Dr Reese and other vets are wonderful n caring. Easy to get an appointment even same day for non-​emergencies. Reasonable costs for routine shots. Disappointed with newer front desk staff … rude and uncaring. Lack of vet coverage for emergencies after hours is a concern.

I have been bringing my dogs here for many years and I am very pleased with their services. Dr. Reese is the best!!! She is great with my dogs and tries to make the vet a somewhat pleasant experience. She always does a fantastic job at explaining things to me and I never feel rushed. She helped identify my dogs back injury right away, rushed me to a specialist and my dog made a full recovery. I bring my dogs here for all of their vaccines, tests and dental work. The staff is nice too!

I choose the place because the staff treat me and my new addition like we’re family.

This vet has horrible service. When I came the first time, I heard the girl at the front desk complaining to someone who works in the back about all the long days she has worked alone due to not having a second person to help.
Secondly, I took my dog here to get his teeth cleaned. When quoted they told me a price of about 170.00 and I was like wow! This is cheap! When I got there the day of the appointment I booked, of course there were all these extra charges they reviewed with me that made the bill go up to 500 $. This should have been disclaimed when I called the first time for quotes. Secondly, they asked for a stool sample which I gave them. I also asked them if that would be ok as well for when I bring him back in a couple days to have him boarded and they said yes. As long as the sample was within a 7 – 10 day period.
When I came to drop my dog off, they had all of his shot records, stool sample from his dental surgery. When he was picked up, they «chose» to give him every vaccination under the sky as well as charge me for the stool sample again. When I called to dispute the charge due to their lack of communication with their clients as I feel that any treatments should have been approved by the owner prior. Also, all my shot records were up to date when I dropped him off and they had a copy. When I brought that up, they said they don’t recognize the standard length of time that shots are good for. Which, that tells me they rip off all of their customers being their «standards» are more for profitability. Every vet you go to a rabies shot is good for 3 years. This place only recognizes them for 1 year. So they are essentially tripping their profits by making their clients do it years.
Poor business practices without any care for their customers and pets they see. Stay away and go to a better animal hospital.

We recently started coming here, and we will probably continue to come here. This place is great! Super fast service. We never wait more than 30 seconds to get into a room, then like 2 minutes to be seen. We got our puppy’s rabies shot in less than 10 minutes and we were out. He staff is very nice too. They also have a nice practice of taking the pet out back into another room to administer the shots. This sounds crazy you say? No, if you think about it, your pet won’t associate the discomfort of the vet, with your face or presence in the room. At first I hated the idea, but now I really like it. Plus, if it’s really a problem, you can request to have it done in the room with you. They’re pretty accommodating. Not to mention, they have really affordable shots prices. The rabies shot was $ 10. I’d recommend this place. It’s clean, presentable, and friendly.

All Dr.‘s are caring and thorough. They will do the best for your little fur babies. Very kind and compassionate staff.

Amazing!!! Dr Navarro is so helpful. She saved my rotties life. She is always friendly and doesn’t have me spend money on unnecessary things. I don’t mind spending money here because they are only interested in making sure my dogs are as healthy as possible. The front desk girls can be a little short or rude but they deal with a lot so I overlook it.

I love this vet! My basset hound, Gary, had a gnarly growth on his neck. I got an estimate from a competitor that was two times what Valley Ranch wanted to remove the growth. Gary no longer has the growth on his neck thanks to Valley Ranch! The staff are lovely and the doctors are kind… Take your pets here, they’ll be in good hands.

I don’t know how this place is still in business. They are more concerned with charging you through the nose than caring for your pet. I went for vaccines for my dog and the vet noticed his ears were inflamed. She tells me she will take him to the back to check them out they were gone for not even 2 minutes and came back with a bottle of antibiotics called cephalexin. I go out to pay and they tried to charge me 300 dollars on top of the vaccine cost!!! 200 for a medication that i had her write a prescription for and got it for 4 dollars at smiths!!! Way to take advantage of people who wouldn’t know to take it to a real pharmacy. Oh not to mention the 50 dollars they charged me for her to just look at his ears. Only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the front office staff are friendly.

This is a great Vets office. We have been taking our cats here for as long as I can remember. My girlfriends Dad had taken his dogs here for a long time, and always talked about how great they were. We have gone in for teeth cleanings, shots and regular checkups mostly, but recently had a scary situation with one of our cats. The vets were all very helpful and took excellent care of her. Dr. Massey in particular, went out of her way to keep us informed through the whole process. I could sense the true care that both she and the other doctor have for animals. I also appreciated the fact that they did not push extra services or tests on us, but still made us aware of those options when applicable. I think they have pretty reasonable prices for what we have had them do, but vets are rarely cheap.
They do same day appointments, and their entire staff is very friendly and professional. I would recommend their office to anyone who loves their pet.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!! I took my Yorkie here to be boarded earlier this year and he was left in the cages sooo long that he was bleeding on his nose and paws from trying to get out. He had bandages and scabs everywhere. They only have one blade to groom so you can not choose a length for a hair cut.
We gave them a 2^nd chance (because they already had his records and we were desperate before leaving on a plane ride and had to go get his shots updated) and took him back for shots and grooming. We picked him up and they had us pay FIRST and THEN asked us to come to a back room. We started to feel uneasy. A young vet tech brought him out in the cone of shame and showed us that they had sliced the end of his ear off!!! EEK! Then they just glued it back on! The girl’s exact words were, «well when they move, this routinely happens.» ROUTINELY HAPPENS??? Our little Yorkie is 10 years old and he is the sweetest little guy. This has NEVER happened! I called our groomer back in Texas and she said that that is absolutely uncalled for and in all her years of business that has never happened. And yes, I have pictures to prove!
I asked to talk to the Vet. She apologized but it was not very sincere, she didn’t even seem concerned but more bothered and after I insisted over and over, she FINALLY gave us our money back. My dog was shaking for 4 days after we picked him up from there and would barely eat. He just wanted to lay next to me all day.
What a NIGHTMARE!!! It’s been almost 2 months and his ear still looks awful :’-(
DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE!!! Unless, maybe, you are putting them down?

I have been here 5 or 6 times since my puppy was 8 weeks old. Have gotten all her shots done here and they are great and affordable. I know lots of places charge a visit fee for being seen for shots but valley ranch charges for the shots only. Which are not expensive. My little doxie had an allergic reaction one late night after her 12 week vaccinations and the doctor met me there and treated her immediately and I did not pay an arm and leg for it & they let me know exactly how they would treat her and comforted me during a worrisome experience.
Also I just had her spayed and microchipped there and so far so good! :) always come here for great service.

I just dropped by here one day because my boy (3yo American Eskimo) had a cough for a couple of weeks and thought I’d get him checked out. Very friendly staff and I was seen fairly quickly without an appointment. The Vet seemed very knowledgeable and professional and was not reluctant to have a detailed conversation about my boys condition and treatment options. I would not hesitate for a moment to go back if any of my three dogs needed any type of care.
Their prices were very reasonable, for both service and medications.

Sorry sorry… poop on the floor. I was placed in a dirty examine room. Not returning. And I don’t care for the fact they take the dog in the back for shots.

I started going here because the location is so convenient for me. I’ve taken my dog here 3 times since we’ve moved here.
The first visit was for his vaccines. They are so quick and very friendly with my dog. Trust me, I’ve been to vets who weren’t so gentle and loving as I’d like them to be. I didn’t have to make an appointment and I was still in and out very very quickly.
The second visit was for his nails to be trimmed. Again, they were so gentle and caring. I didn’t have an appointment and was surprised again by how fast I was in and out. I’ve sat at veterinary hospitals for over an hour with even making appointments. This makes me very happy that they respect my time.
The third visit was for a consultation on my dogs health. I saw Dr. Burks for this. She was so knowledgeable and helpful. We took xrays to find out he has arthritis. She was very informative and I would definitely recommend seeing her. (Again, in and out very quickly)
I trust this animal hospital with all of my dogs needs. The staff (vets and front desk) are friendly and courteous. I am so glad they are within minutes of my home!
