Sunset Dry Cleaners

Bought a groupon for sunset cleaners. All i can say is good luck finding them open or even answering a phone. Now i’ve come by on a saturday and found a note on the window that they’re relocating to green valley pkwy. Went there and lo and behold there’s a note on the window with a new # and no one there, and no answer for the new #. Will be calling groupon to get my $ back. Such a waste of time…

Hours say Monday thru Friday 8 am– 6 pm Saturday 10:00 am — 5:00 pm Closed Sunday on their door but should read more like we are here when we feel like it, and your clothes will be ready sometime within a month, not when we promised them to you. I have come 4 or 5 times now to pick up my cleaning only to find a note on the door that they have «gone to the plant to get clothes» with a time they will return and they are never back by that time, no one answers the phone either. I just want to get my things and NEVER come back to this place.
I bought 2 Groupons for this place one for myself and one for my son, but there is no way I’m going to have my son come here after my experiences, I’m going to get my money back from Groupon, this place is horrible

Oh my GOSH! Worst dry cleaning experience EVER! Absolutely ruined my item and left me speechless. Run FAR FAR AWAY from this place. If I could give it zero stars I would.

IMHO This is the worst dry cleaners on the West Coast. Not only did they ruin my items they lost several pieces. They also put wet pillows into a plastic bag and let them get mildew on them. When I said something about it the «wife» who is one of the owners said, «well we redid them again at no extra charge» all I could do was pull the phone away and look at it! Did she really say that??! When I told her that they ruined my bedspread she told me that they did not. I said that they bleached my pillow cases and bedspread and she said they did not have bleach. It’s now only good for a dog blanket! Do not be fooled by «we are a Christian business» Christians are NOT in the habit of destroying people’s property and ripping folks off by doing bad business IMHO! Shame on you! Oh yeah the owners young son talks about shooting and killing you when you are waiting for the owner to check your stuff in.

I really wish I had seen other reviews before I went to this place. I got a special coupon from one of those on-​line places that sells discounts to local businesses. When I first walked in and saw all the décor I should have turned and ran out screaming, but I had the coupon so I went against my intuition and turned the clothes in. I needed two suit jackets dry cleaned, and pair of pants repaired and a small bag of laundry cleaned. I was told that the seamstress would not be back to work for a full week, and I told them that would be fine. I told them I would be in around June 5^th or 6^th to pick my items up. First off, I called at 8:30 AM to see when they were open (sign says they open at 8:00, don’t believe it, the sign lies).
I was told that someone would be in around noon. I happened to drive by at 9:30 and they were still not opened, so I came back at 10:30 (remember, the sign said they open at 8, and I really didn’t want to wait until noon because I needed one of they items they were cleaning).
I was happily surprised when I saw they were open at 10:30. I left my 92 year old mom in the car, telling her I would be back in just a second. Everything was already paid for, so I thought it would be a quick pick up. Boy was I wrong. The man working there had a hard time finding the suit jackets, and an even harder time finding the pants. He couldn’t find the laundry, and after about 10 minutes, he came out with the bag that I had brought the laundry in. It had NOT been done. This small bag of three pairs of socks, 1 t shirt and two very expensive dress shirts had been sitting in the back, not touched for a total of TWO WEEKS. The excuse was that they saw it back there, but didn’t know what it needed.
I was told the laundry would be done in an hour. Once again, my instinct told me that I should take it and run. If I learned one thing, it is to listen to my instinct. He promised it would be done in an hour, even after I told him that I was considering taking it home and doing it myself since I needed it. Well the promise was made, it would be done.
I went back two and a half hours later, and the laundry was still wet in the dryer. I was told it would be ten minutes, then after ten minutes, it was going to be another 10 minutes. At that time, a child, who had been making noise in the back, came running out, disobeying her mother, running around, turning the lights off and being an annoyance. After finally wrangling her kid up, and putting her in the back. I was told it would be a few more minutes.
After a couple minutes, I was asked if I wanted my shirts hung or in a bag. I said a bag was fine and to please fold the shirts. She comes out from the back with the t-​shirt on a hanger and everything else in the bag. The t-​shirt was sopping wet, and she gave me a song and dance (is that term still used?) about how t-​shirts should not be dried because they will shrink. I have been doing laundry for 35 years and have never had a t-​shirt shrink.
Once I got home I took out the socks, still wet. And a five year old could have folded these shirts better. I’m not sure if I can download the photos, but if I can, take a look. This is from a so-​called professional business???
I would highly RECOMMEND that anyone STAY AWAY from this place. If you happened to get a coupon from the internet, see if you can get your money back.

I AM TAKING THESE PEOPLE TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT! They will damage your items and NOT RETURN CALLS. This is by far the worst and most unprofessional dry cleaning service I have ever encountered. They caused $ 1000’s in damages ($ 2000 quoted for custom drapes to be replaced, still looking for seamstress to remake custom comforter and tassles)!! I should have ran the other way when I saw a paper sign on the window (not a lighted sign above). But I had spoken to the owner’s husband and he assured me my drapes and bedding would be handled with TLC. Well… first of all, as the others have mentioned, they had a screaming kid running around. He should have been in daycare. Second of all, the place is so small, it’s obvious that they send ALL ITEMS to another dry cleaner! They don’t do the work onsite! I dropped off CUSTOM drapes and matching CUSTOM comforter, along with a store bought comforter and about 7 store bought drapes. They were all in perfect condition when dropped off. A week later (took that long because they don’t do their own work)… I picked up my items and to my horror, MY CUSTOM DRAPES WERE WASHED!!! IN A WASHER!!! YOU CAN SMELL THE DETERGENT AND THEY WERE STILL DAMP!!! They drapes shrunk, had holes in them, and looked like they had been washed in a washer and possibly dried in a dryer! The custom comforter MAY HAVE BEEN WASHED… the custom down comforter inside the custom duvet was mangled… all feathers had gathered all on the left side, leaving it lumpy and the right side completely flat! The duvet cover looks misshapen. They didn’t even bother to take the down comforter out of the duvet cover! The tassles at each corner were DAMAGED! These tassles and duvet cover were hand-​made to match all the hand-​made pillows and lamp shades in my bedroom. Well, the «owner» was contacted and she apologized, admitted that she sends her items out to be «washed/​dry cleaned» and agreed that FINE DRAPES/​BEDDING ARE NOT TO BE WASHED. She was disgusted with the service and promised to have her seamstress fix everything. Needless to say, NOTHING WAS FIXED… the drapes look exactly the same, the comforter’s tassles are not back to their original state, the down comforter inside the duvet was not fixed, and THE OWNER IS NOT RETURNING MY CALLS. I have no choice but to take her to small claims court! The drapes cost $ 2000 to be replaced and I have 3 professional quotes on that, and I will be getting a quote on the rest. The comforter and tassles cost more than the drapes and I need to find someone who can remake something comparable. I will include photos soon.

WORST service ever. My $ 100 pants have been lost for 6 weeks now. Owner told me she would call me back at least 5 times and has yet to call. I brought 9 items in and it took 4 trips back to get my items a few at a time. Owner keeps telling me she needs time and needs to resolve it with the factory and I don’t care about any of that. Things happen, I get it. Be patient, I get it. I’ve been patient and now it is time to rectify this. I will replace the pants but as a business owner she should reimburse me for the pants and for the money I spent to have my clothes cleaned. Nicole, the owner, does not deserve your business. She always has her kids running around and beyond that she leaves this a new worker every time I go in there or a sweet seamstress who doesn’t speak English. Terrible service! I would not recommend anyone go there because they do not deserve the business.

if you value your clothes, your shoes, your bed coverings or your $ 500+ islamic prayer rug (that they insist on calling a «runner») please, please, please don’t go here!!! i thought for sure that they lost my rug. they tell me it will be ready in three days… three days turned into a week… a week turned into two! then when i finally got the rug back it was still dirty! she told me that she went over it a second time there in the shop a few hours before i arrived as a «courtesy» since it wasn’t done right. she never offered a refund and honestly, i was so happy to get this rug back that i didn’t even care about the refund. this rug had sentimental value beyond belief (which i expressed over and over again). she asked me if the tassels on the rug were supposed to be white or brown and i said white she said «oh i didn’t know.»
stay away… far far away! my husband has several shirts and business suits that he gets cleaned on a regular basis but unfortunately, they will never get his business!

I really wanted to like this place since it is new and a family business.
My first day I walked in and a kid took off running from laying on the couch. A few minutes later some one comes out to help me. (I should of just took my stuff and went somewhere else after that) I dropped 2 blouses off and noticed they also fixed shoes. Came to pick up my blouses after the «ready» date and only one was ready. I dropped off a shoe which I was told would be ready in a week. A week in a half later my boot isn’t ready but my other blouse finally is. They say my shoe should be ready by Friday so I go Tuesday, still not ready. Long story short it took a month to get my shoe and every time I’d come in they would tell me it was ready and they were going to go pick it up. When it was finally ready they had a kid working the store who had no clue what he was doing.

I brought in a pair of slacks, and a dress shirt. This was on a Saturday, told them I would be back Tuesday to pick them up. When I arrived the owner said there was problem at the plant and your shirt will be ready Wednesday. Showed up Wednesday no shirt. to make along story short, the owner lied to me they had lost the shirt. The tag fell off according to his wife. She would go to the plant and look for the shirt. It took 10 days to get two items cleaned, yes they found the shirt. I would never recommend this cleaner to anyone where the owner flat out lies to you and there customer services stinks! Did not pay for the cleaning either!

While I have not used them for dry cleaning, I had a phenomenal experience with Maggie the tailor. I brought in 10 curtain panels to be cut and hemmed. The work was completed the same day AND the panels were steamed. Everything was done beautifully and was reasonably priced. They even accepted a coupon I had gotten in the mail. This truly was an «as good as it gets» experience.

HORRIBLE!!! Kids running around screaming asking customers for tips, screaming at their mother while she tries to take my request. Dropping off my laundry was the easy part, getting them back was a NIGHTMARE. Dropped off 7 items 2 were lost for a week 2 were ruined because they put them in the washer and 1 had to be re done. I spent a week chasing my laundry from these people. The whole family was in there arguing with me about why I wanted my money back stating that not «all» of them were ruined REALLY!!!

I was disappointed by my experience at sunset dry cleaners. This location is very convenient to my house, so I would have loved to have made them my regular dry cleaner.
They advertise most items at $ 2.25. There are several signs inside and out advertising this. When I dropped off my items (two simple summer dresses, one with a light jacket) the man working didn’t know what they would cost, so I agreed to pay on pick up when the owner was available. The man who helped me at drop off seemed new and since this wasn’t just the basic button up shirt, I didn’t mind.
I returned to pick up my items and encountered another man (I believe he was a owner) who retrieved my items, but didn’t know what to charge me. He had to call over a woman (his wife?). And she informed me that one dress was $ 4, the other was $ 6, and that the jacket with the dress was $ 2.25. I admit that I was surprised neither of these dresses came in at the $ 2.25 advertised, as neither had any stains, pleating, sleeves, or anything complicated. The items were cleaned and ironed to my satisfaction.
I paid for my items, and did not receive a receipt. I didn’t ask for one, but it would have been nice to have been offered. Sadly, I don’t think I will return to sunset dry cleaners.
