Established in 1998.

I have been taking photos for over 50 years. With the advent of digital photography I started sharing some photos with friends via e-​mail. I started getting comments that I should sell my work. After enough of these comments I started Photo Scenes in about 1998 while living in Missouri. I have sold quite a number of scenery photos that have been used to decorate offices and homes. I’ve handled many projects including portraits, business photos, website photos, and greeting cards.

I got my first camera as a birthday present when I was 8. It was a Kodak Brownie camera and the film was all Black & White. I think color was just coming out and was very expensive. I used various cameras over the years, including bellows cameras, and had my own darkroom. Eventually I got my first 35 mm camera when I was about 16. One of the first photos I took was at a lake of a neighbor’s boat. At that time, being inexperienced with 35 mm, I didn’t realize how far away the boat would appear. When the photo came back I saw the setting sun and crystal smooth water, along with the willow tree that framed the shot, had created a really great photo (but the boat could hardly be seen). The photo won a photo contest. So I became more of a student of photography and learned to see the shot and then get the camera. Digital photography has changed everything, improved quality greatly, and that brings us to today and Photo Scenes. I look forward to working on your project.
