Janus Custom Homes is a family owned and operated business that specializes in building custom homes and remodeling in the San Antonio area. Husband and wife team, Tom and Janice Potter, established Janus Custom Homes LLC in 2002 on a foundation of over 50 years of construction experience. Since 1970, Tom has worked in the commercial construction industry. With his knowledge and expertise Tom and Janice designed and hand built their first two homes. This sparked Janice’s career as a project manager in residential construction where she personally supervised the construction of over 450 homes. Experience, passion, and local roots make Janus Custom Homes the best choice to build your dream home.

The name Janus Custom Homes is representative of our dedication to home building. According to Roman Mythology Janus was the guardian of gates and doors, distinctively depicted as having one head with two faces: one facing West remembering the past and one facing East looking to the future. Janus, the god of new beginnings, would ensure that anything built under his watch was done right. This is exactly the approach we take in building your home.
