Four stars for the quick, creative food options. Minus one star for the horrible, horrible coffee– it limits what would otherwise be a good weekend breakfast option.

Different lunch specials every day, yummy souffles each morning, the best coffee in town, weekend waffles, and fabulous staff. Something for everyone including vegetarian and gluten-​free dishes and desserts. No wonder there are so many regulars. Love this place.

Very narrow selection, no sit down service, mediocre food at less than competitive prices

Really good food, but slow service and lack of simple options (side of bacon, decaf coffee) made it hard to leave more than 3 stars.

Wow! I was so impressed! It’s a sweet café reminiscent of those you’d find in Berkeley, very light and bright. Everything is obviously made in house, healthy and delicious. We ordered the tomato basil soup, coffecake and potato chicken salad. The soup had a bit of a kick in a good way. We had a couple rolls to go with the soup and those were delicious. The coffeecake is suitable for two or a hungry teenager. I just wish we had a place like this in Bozeman!

Yum! What a great spot for a nice lunch with a friend. The food is fresh and very tasty– a huge plus that they have both regular and daily special dishes.
The cinnamon rolls are to die for and there are a lot of gluten free options for meal and deserts. Looking forward to returning for lunch and even Sunday brunch.

Tates like home. Wonderful knowing and feeling that there is no extra added sodium or anything too much. Refreshing and delicious!

This is a fantastic spot. Great gluten free food. Super local owners and great staff. A great addition to Helena. The new Saturday brunch is awesome.

Delicious food with many items to choose from. Their daily specials are great to try along with their variety of tasty salads. You can tell the food is made from scratch and is made fresh daily.
Very friendly, helpful staff that greets you when you walk in. Spacious area to have lunch with friends or there is a separate area for larger groups to have a lunch meeting.
Highly recommended for a great relaxing lunch or for a quick take out lunch.

I really like the food here, I can get exactly what I want in the amounts I want, and I like the vegetarian options. They offer foods that I would make for myself if I had time! I was worried there wouldn’t be enough seating but it is very spacious in here. Nice environment, and there is room in the back for larger groups.

I know they make the food fresh and the service is usually alright, but my complaint is that there isn’t any flavor. It’s like they’re cooking for an old folks home or something. I recently had a Cajun dish there with «spicy» shrimp, but there was absolutely no flavor, let alone spice. The gal at the counter said if I like it spicy there is hot sauce over by the silverware??? I prefer the flavors to be cooked into the meal, not dumped on after the fact. It also wouldn’t kill them to pick up a salt shaker once in a while.

Really good food, great service, very clean, reasonably priced, nice spacious seating, and fast. What more could anyone want?
The owners of this place have the formula figured out. Mat be the best overall restaurant in Helena. Highly recommended.

They have a different special each day at lunch. You can get a full plate of the special or half special and half salad for an excellent price. If you’re really hungry go for the large size and you will not be disappointed. Great establishment and I’m glad it’s here.

The rare 5 star rating is well deserved. This is the best I’ve had since I moved to Helena 5 months ago. Was greeted by a super friendly and helpful woman at the counter who was kind enough to explain everything to this first time customer. Vegetarian options abounded. I tried two different salads and an iced tea – everything was fresh and perfectly delicious. My only complaint is that they aren’t open more!

Truly a taste sensation. Visiting for business. It’s a bit off the beaten path — as is most of Montana. I’m not a vegetarian, but I was wowed by the quality and well integrated flavors of the vegetarian plate (s). Nice place, no frills, just top notch people and a wonderful food experience. Exceptional quality, simply delivered.

Stopped by for a quick lunch, and was treated to a very gracious host for a reasonable meal. It was Wednesday, so the special was either Red or Green Curry. It was quite yummy. The specials vary daily, so I would definitely go back to see what they have to offer! You may want to opt for the Large lunch portion rather than the Regular, as it left me wanting more!

It’s negative two today in Helena so I opted for a hot meal. Murry’s has hot lunch specials every day, but today they had Korean beef/​vegetable rice bowls. They list them as two separate items, but offered to do half and half which it’s what I got.
The food was excellent! The beef was spicy enough that you notice it (a.k.a. Helena hot) but was subtle enough that you still taste the green onion and slightly sweet marinade. The vegetable portion had a ton of mushrooms that soaked up a totally different flavor that was also delicious. They use high quality rice, looks like Basmati, and cook it perfectly.
Overall the restaurant is clean and airy with big windows that look out over historic last chance gulch. Local art adorns the walls and they have a limited amount of spices that they blend and package in house.
I think that this is the best place in town to grab a quick healthy lunch that has new and interesting flavors.

I wrote my first review after my first trip to Murry’s. I’ve since been there more than a dozen times because, quite frankly, I can’t get enough of their amazing home-​cooked food at some of the best prices in town — ANYWHERE. I’ve had everything from chickpea masala to green curry to meatloaf to pork sandwich to red beans and rice to Ethiopian doro wat. All of it was excellent and wonderful taste bud experience. It’s also an excellent spot to have a casual lunch meeting or get together with friends. The atmosphere is bright, clean and welcoming and the large dining room is perfect for accommodating groups of up to 10 I’d say.
And considering that everything is home-​made from scratch you can’t beat the speed! I can get in and out of there in under five minutes (if I want) and I’m taking a home-​cooked, fresh, whole-​food lunch with me (you won’t see any Sysco cans lying around on the shelves). This place is a true gem.
Whenever I read that review from Cathyann C – who showed up on the annual Art Walk Night (when Murry’s was giving out some samples to art walk visitors) and expecting Murry’s to feed her family, I get kind of irritated with her single star rating. Not only is the food amazing, fresh and incredibly affordable, but the service has always been, in my experience, exceptional. The owners are friendly, helpful, and they always greet you with a smile. They let you sample anything on the menu and they go out of their way to accommodate you. I just can’t imagine why anyone would trash this place unless they have a very bland palate and desire frozen/​boxed or otherwise processed or fried food.
Murry’s is exceptional at what they do. If you don’t like what they do go someplace else, but no honest reviewer can trash the quality of the food or the friendliness of the service. Cathyann C. is not being fair to Murry’s. Look at the rest of the five star reviews before you make a judgement based on one person’s bitter experience.
