Jazmin dyed my hair, washed it & styled it! I been going to her for quite a while and she never lets me down! I came with my hair damaged & tangled & walked out with very soft, straight hair looked like a totally different person! Now I’m officially a red head woohoo she nailed the color

This is the FIRST salon where I’ve ever had the absolute WORST EXPERIENCE of my life. How bad? I-​cried-​in-​the-​salon-​bathroom-​because-​my-​hair-​was-​completely-​damaged-​and-​ugly-​bronze-​orange bad. I had a change of 5 hair colors within 6 hours bad.
I went in very hopefully, it was a new salon I go to because I’m from LA and I usually get my hair done there. And a place that has 4 ½ stars and I don’t have to travel long distance? Why not give it a shot, right? I was so wrong.
Anyway, I went in wanting a balayage ombré that went from my dark brown hair to ashy blonde. When the stylist, Angie, first bleached my hair, it was brassy orange. And I asked for a balayage ombré, what I got was a STRAIGHT LINE ACROSS MY HEAD «OMBRE». That is NOT an ombré and it’s NOT what I asked for. I asked for a balayage ombré that blends in nicely with my hair and gradually gets lighter. Not my dark brown hair and suddenly a bright orange. I told her I didn’t like it, she then TRIED but didn’t succeed in trying to «blend» it. If I had dyed my own ombré I would have done a better job, honestly. Then I told her I didn’t like the color, I wanted less orange and more ashy blonde. I didn’t get it. We kept coloring my hair to colors I didn’t want. She DIDN’T KNOW WHAT SHE WAS DOING, and I was COMPLETELY CLEAR with what I wanted. We finally ended up with a red copper color, which I also did not like because it was not blended with my dark brown hair. It’s not rocket science. So I told her I wanted it just brown. A light brown instead of copper. She can’t screws that up right? My hair was already damaged enough, it’s irreversible to what damage she did, so she only did a semi-​permanent brown auburn rinse on my severely chemically damaged hair.
Now my hair is a so what mix of copper and light brown, and I can’t explain how horrible my hair is.
There’s no subtle transition to my ombré, it’s very blunt and disgusting and looks like a 5 year old did my hair. I honestly wish I did my own ombré because my hair is so unnecessarily damaged it’s ridiculous. I don’t know how this place has such good reviews, but then again they’ve only talked about like 1 stylist. But let it be know that it was Angie who screwed up my hair, and it’s because of Angie that I will NEVER come back OR recommend people to this place.
This place is a nightmare if you’d like to color your hair. Or at least don’t do it with Angie. Do yourself a favor and invest in a better stylist. Don’t pay $ 55 (she was going to charge me about $ 80 but she saw what a horrible job she did) for embarrassing hair.
I’m really disappointed with this salon and had such high hopes that my hair would turn out great.
But instead I got chemically damaged hair with a copper/​brown blunt, ugly ombré.
I’m writing this the same day because I’m so upset about my hair and the service. I cried in your bathroom because it was so bad. If I could give no stars I would.
I wish I could get my $ 55 dollars back because it was the worst $ 55 dollars at a salon that I’ve ever spent.

I needed to get my hair braided (singles) for a trip I’ll be taking next week. I found Total Package on Unilocal.I called on a Friday and was able to get an appt that Monday with Angie. The price quoted was good for a shop. The shop was clean and well lit. Angie was very professional and easy to communicate with. Before we started, she thoroughly asked how I wanted my hair styled. I changed my mind last minute from singles to tree braids. Angie was flexible and accommodating to my indecisiveness. She paused every now and then while braiding to ensure I was happy with the work. The end product is brilliant! I’ve gotten so many compliments. As it turns out, I didn’t even need to wait for a «recovery» period before my trip. MY HEAD ISN’T SORE! That has never happened to me before. That’s worth 5 stars alone. I think I’ve found a new home for all my hair needs.

I enjoy going to get my hair done knowing Star is my stylist. She’s professional, warm and you feel the personal treatment when you are in her chair. Her weaves are are complete and very natural looking. She’s also done my daughter’s hair and make-​up for two proms this year. Stunning work! Star is truly a STAR in the business. I highly recommend her services.

I have very thin hair due to medication. I have tried numerous places to get a full head of hair look by way of extensions. I have a huge bag of human hair extensions I was advised to buy. When they were attached to my head by being sewn to the braid on my scalp it looked okay but very uncomfortable. Also, I preferred it to be tailored and cut into a style along my face, instead of just a big clunk of hair across my shoulders and back. The braids were so tight it gave me a massive headache. I had to remove them within the first three days. I’ve had several negative experiences with hair attachment. Until Yesterday, I called several places with good reviews on Unilocal nobody answered or I had to leave a message. I really wanted to get something done to my hair that day b/​c I was tired of the thin flat look. However, I don’t have patience when I want to get something done to wait for another day. I called a place called The Total Package on B st in Hayward. A lady name Nikita answered, i explained my dilemma of everything I’ve tried in the past and how desperate i wanted this done today she told me come on down I think I could help you. I arrived with my bag of hair in my hand she looked over the hair and picked out what she felt would look nice. She then explain my options for attaching since I have problems with my hair all up under a cap or braided to my scalp. I was wasting a lot of money b/​c within the week I took them out each time. She recommended leaving my own hair down sectioning my hair then attaching the extension using a bead. I left it up to her i thought it was interesting and I’ve never tried this method before, plus my scalp would be exposed naturally so I wouldn’t be continuously itching or hot in the scalp area. Nikita did a fantastic job. My hair is inner-​mixed with my original hair, looks natural, feels light weight and you can’t tell where the track begins. She cut it into a three layered haircut then curled my hair. It looks amazing all the upper layers of curls landed perfectly on top next layer of curls all the way down to the longer strands of hair. Nikita’s next client arrived and couldn’t believe this wasn’t all my hair. When I arrived home my husband is very truthful with his thoughts. Believe me, with most of all my other weaves his comments were very negative. This day was different he commented how nice it looks and that he really liked it. Thanks Nikita for making be look beautiful again and for figuring out what I wanted when I was so undecided and for the outstanding customer service you provided. I will be your regular customer moving forward. Ladies, if you want to look great, not sure of what you want Nikita is your girl. Give her a call you won’t be disappointed. Thanks again Nikita.

Jazz is in my experience, is one of most talented as well as one of the most amazing stylist at the Total Package! All I have to do is show her a pic of the style that I desire and phoof, I’m transformed into a Diva! She can create Runway looks as well as everyday looks that are dazzling! Jazz is a perfectionist, who take great care of hair’s exteriors and make sure your hair healthy and lives up to its full potential. In essence, Jazz defiantly delivers… Brava to the youngest, talented and Baddest stylist on the scene at TP. Yes, believe that!

Jazmin was a life saver when I needed my weave re-​done at the very last minute! She took me in right away and was so sweet! I was hooked ever since then, about a year ago. She’s always kind and professional AND gets you out quick! Jazmin is amazing at what she does, keeping those weaves LAID! Check her out!

I’ve been looking for a braider for the past few months and I finally came across Total Package. I went to Angie and she was great! She took her time and she cares about the health of your hair. She didn’t braid to tight and was very mindful of my edges. Being natural for almost two years, I will definitely go back to Angie so she can help grow my hair out.

So I’ve been coming here for about a year now. Why has it taken me so long to write a review for Jazmin? Girl, I was to busy looking in the mirror. Miss Jazmin has gotten me ALL the way together. Raggedy split ends, hair all dry and dull… I was a mess! Jazmin is a perfectionist and won’t let you leave her chair even if a hair is out of place. I like that she focuses not only on style but hair health which is most important. She listens, will answer any of your questions, and will give you tips on how to care for your hair. I love Angie, and her work especially when it’s a critical cutting or trim appointment. She totally delivers and I get exactly what I came for without much explanation. I love this place and all the workers nothing but positive vibes when entering and leaving. Plus they do deals for students in college which is awesome, who said you can’t look good while studying hard! (: #GoAngie

Braids by Angie: If your looking for someone to take their time on your braids. To ensure your edges won’t be pulled out due to braiding too tight then see Angie! She is extremely knowledgeable and professional! I love my braids!!! I found a new stylist!

My girl Starr, always has me steppin out looking and feeling better than when I walked in. She is very personable and makes sure that I am totally satisfied with the end result. I am so thankful for her.

YOU NEED JASMIN! She is all about healthy hair AND she is a master at styling! She is super quick and always starts on you as soon as you walk through the door. She makes you feel comfortable and by the time your first appointment is over, you’re already best friends. That’s how awesome she is! Flexible appointment times, high quality products, speedy service, no waiting, healthy sexy hair, sweet stylist, what more could you want? Like I said, YOU NEED JASMIN!

Starr is a phenomenal beauty professional. During my two hour appointment window for a full sew-​in weave, she took the time to educate me on the different textures of hair available in the salon, provide tips on the overall growth and care of my natural hair and engage in positive conversations surrounding the advancement of women in our community. I left her chair extremely pleased with my simple, chic middle part weave and highly recommend her service and expertise.

This review is long over do ! But I finally found some time to let you know about my experience. I made an appointment, was seated right away and taken care of by Jazmin! She is the sweetest, down to earth person ever. I felt completely comfortable, so comfortably that I really let her do whatever to my hair. She washed it (best massage ever) and really took her time with everything. I just went in for a flat iron switch was bone straight and decided I wanted a trim. Eventually I told her I wanted layers and she delivered I will be back to get my hair dyed because I finally found a hair stylist that I trust and hasn’t taken advantage of me too. She is reasonable and really a perfectionist when it comes to making sure everything is great and her client is happy.

I’ve been going to The Total Package for over a year now and I love how Lori does my hair! Very easy to maintain afterwards as well. Which is important for me!
I also have started to take my two girls to Jazz there now and she does a great job! A professional, clean update salon that you will be very pleased with.

I saw Jazmin Boyd for a press and trim. I’ve been at the Total Package before and have always had a good experience. So of course when I go in I’m hoping to get that same quality but wasn’t sure this time because I was having somebody new do my hair.
Jazmin washed and deep condition my hair prior to the press, and while I’m getting it pressed she we chit chatted and I felt very comfortable with her right away. When she had finished styling my hair she handed me the mirror to see the end result… and I fell in LOVE! I know it wasn’t anything complicated but I still loved my hair. It exceeded the usual already good quality service I’ve gotten before.
The way she styled it was perfect. And I never told her how I wanted it she just did it. It was a bob with my bangs flipped up (I’m terrible at describing things). I will make sure to put a picture as well.

Definitely 5 stars! I feel so blessed to have found The Total Package Salon. Being new to the state and the area, I researched extensively about which salons and stylists specialized in healthy hair, both natural and chemically treated (relaxer, texturizer, etc.), as well as short and long hair styles. As I am very particular about who styles my African American hair (as most sistas are), I prayed that divine intervention and my research would pay off, and indeed, it did! I have LOVED every style, precision cut, and texturizer my stylist, Lori, has done.
I truly believe that an awesome hair stylist is a «hair artist.» She/​he understands your personality, style, hair goals, and hair texture and then takes your «diva-​ness» and «swag» to the next level. Without hesitation, Lori is a «hair artist» as well as the other stylists and barbers at The Total Package Salon.
Out of all the hair salons I have tried throughout the country, including some very prestigious ones, The Total Package Salon blew the rest out of the water. Thanks Lori for being an answer to my hair dreams and prayers!
