sorry to say that the quality of Sushiland food has gone way down. Rolls are so loose that they fall apart when I pick one up. No Bueno! I ordered a «crunchy» roll and it tasted so bad it was inedible. Food used to be SO good here — the prices are still great tho! I won’t be back for a while — hoping they get new sushi chefs or … something.

Surprisingly good Sushi in building that didn’t give me confidence. We tried 6 different rolls and all of them were excellent. If I’m in the area again I will definitely go back.

This would be a five star place if it were just a bit more organized. The seating area is super small, maybe 7 four people tables? Something like that. The tables are right up to the door so when people come for their takeout orders it’s a bit of a traffic jam. We were there and they didn’t bring water when we asked, then about 30 minutes later when we asked again we ended up getting two sets(I guess our waitress and one of the other staff both took the order). The food itself was very good. Fresh tasting and delivered fairly quickly. The staff are friendly but with the TV and our different first languages we had trouble communicating over the menu and getting questions answered. The warriors were playing so I don’t know if the TV was unusually loud for the game.

This place is so tiny. I would first suggest taking your sushi to go. The sushi and was good, I have no complaints there. I tried a appetizer called monkey-balls but I didn’t like it to much. It taste like cooked sushi which I’m not a fan of at all but hey to each is own.

Don’t be fooled by the cover; when my friends and I found this place on Unilocal after a Golfland Arcade excursion, we were initially skeptical because of the size and exterior once we arrived. But the inside is cozy, the food is delicious, and the staff are very kind. My friend ordered a Sashimi Super Deluxe for herself and we all sampled from it; It was all really good, and they’re not at all stingy with their sashimi cuts either so you can really get a good helping. The bae got a donburi and I got a salmon teriyaki(like I said, I was skeptical). We all shared a rainbow roll as well. Everything was delicious, but the sushi/sashimi were the stars. Plus, we were seated in the corner of the bar in front of the chefs and got to watch one of the chefs as he worked while we ate; it was really riveting, plus he chatted with us and explained some of the process too; the chef was so amused by our discussion of salmon sashimi that when he got to the end of one of his cut of salmon he gave us the sashimi he made from it on the house. What a sweetheart! Highly recommend if you can make it out there; if I had a car I’d definitely go back!

We’ve moved to San Leandro for a year and was looking for a good sushi place. We’ve Unilocaled and sushiland came up. This place has a small parking lot: plus. The place is very small, I would not recommend coming here with a big party. Service is ok, lady forgot my kama order. But the food was pretty fresh and good. The price was also reasonable. We will be back!

I have no idea how this place gets such high scores. We ordered one sashimi combo and three rolls. Fish was mediocre and the rolls are so bland. Sushi rice tastes like regular rice and all three rolls taste similar. This place could easily be one of the worst sushi places I have been. Please use some vinegar on your sushi rice.

Found my sushi spot although it’s small and gets super crowded I started ordering to pick up. Never let me down! I usually get the bento box but tonight I got lion king and poki salad both were soooo tasty!!!

Sushi: the fish was fresh along with all other ingredients. I tried the Lambada sushi roll and found the flavor amazingly bold. Perfect combo of hot and sweet. Same thing with the bowls(chicken teriyaki in this case) really fresh and hotter as you dig in deeper. Keep it up guys. And thank you!

The thing have about Sushi places is that they really are hit or miss in terms of taste, quantity and service. I’m glad to say that this place has a more than decent combination of the above three. I went in wanting to do something like an all you can eat, however I ended up ordering a few different roles instead. The sushi was very tasty and the service was not half bad. Will definitely be coming again

The sushi was great! Very fresh and nicely made. I’ve been here a few times and it’s a tiny spot that always seems full. The service is always spot on, with friendly wait staff. Looks and feels nice inside. We ordered takeout with some basics and nigiri, but, for me, the standout roll was the Crazy Horse roll! Most places make it with the sweet unagi sauce and I’m generally not a fan of that sweet sauce. I asked to have Sushiland’s spicy mayo sauce on it and that was perfect. My favorite roll, the 49ers Roll, was perfect. Another favorite roll of mine is the Lambada roll. For hubby, we asked for Tuna roll with added avocado. My daughter got the salmon terriaky, no sauce and the fish was nicely done, with a good texture. I tried it and, to me, it seemed like the don’t season the fish. It could have used a little salt, pepper and maybe lemon before grilling, but I guess they rely on the sauce for the flavor. The only thing that disappointed me a bit was that the prices have gone up by about $ 2 per roll and also for the dinner(menu photo here showed $ 7.50, but we paid $ 9.50). The menu photos here on Unilocal showed the prices, but I guess it was an old menu. Of course, I get it… prices go up. And they probably opened and started with very low prices, but now the specialty rolls have gone from around $ 7 to around $ 9. So it’s not quite as great of a deal, which was the initial draw(great sushi for a great price, right?). So, still great sushi, but no longer the best deal in town. Now it’s about the same as Ichiban, which is just around the corner from us. So, it’s not that I wouldn’t go back – I’m sure I will. But for a quick takeout dinner, I won’t make the trip and will stick to the place around the corner.

A tiny little spot in the street. It literally feels like a shack was built in a random location and became Sushiland, but the food there is good and totally worth the price! I shared a 3 item bento and a Raiders roll with my boyfriend. 3 Item Bento: Tempura, Chicken Katsu, and California Roll Raiders Roll: Salmon + Cream Cheese with Avocado and Unagi on the outside In total, we paid about $ 26. Will definitely come back to try more items!

A place where good sushi and good prices exist! Sushiland has been my go-to sushi spot for the past year and half or so. It’s like a mom & pop shop type of restaurant and the staff and owner is very nice! Parking is limited as it shares the same lot as a car mechanic shop. And the location seems out of place so I have this continual belief that they should relocate to a larger location since the place itself is crammed, especially in the left side of the bar. But down to the food itself. Sushi is fresh everytime I go here even for to-go. The tempura batter is very light and they also do not skimp out on the portion size. I also love the green tea here! It just taste soo good that I keep getting it refilled! And even though the location is small and the wait can take quite a bit of time, it is definitely worth the wait! And on my recent visit, I finally decided to get the unagi donburi and honestly it was kind of underwhelming. It wasn’t in a bowl nor did it look like it did in the picture so I was sadly disappointed in that. The eel portion was less than I expected and the same goes for the rice, but this is only for the donburi that I decided to try after all my times coming here. Other than that, I have no other gripe and still love this place! I will continue to come back as much as my wallet permits me too! Pros: — Good Sushi, flavorful — Friendly & attentive staff — Good price — Food is good Cons: — Small location — Parking can be difficult And here are some of the foods that I have tried since coming here

A friend of ours have been talking about this place and we wanted to give it a try. Place is small and theres a small parking lot. There was a little wait but not long. The employees here are very friendly and service is good. The review is based on their sushi however it was just average sushi. Lots of different things to choose and try from however to me nothing stood out. The alaskan roll is a must try if you like cream cheese. Which I love cheese. Rolls are fresh and hot but just basic with name twists.

Gave this place a try due to the total Unilocal stars. The place is quite small. During dinner hours on a Friday the line goes out the door. The hand rolls were made okay and the bento box was okay. The service was good. There is another sushi place in the general area. This place beats that place hands down.

We came on a Wednesday at 2:30pm. Semi filled dining room but at least 3 tables unoccupied. We were a party of 2.5(two adults and my 2 month old baby). My baby was in a carseat stroller that I was planning to fold and then put my baby’s carseat on a chair. The waitstaff looked us up and down and said we have no room for you. So we left. Very disappointing service. I’ve been patronizing this establishment for years — since the beginning. Debating on ever coming back.

This place seems to have been around for a couple years but I feel like it’s blowing up now. Sushiland offers really affordable, casual Japanese food owned by Koreans. I got the Spicy Chirashi Bowl(Hae Dup Bop) which wasn’t the best I had but it was a huge portion and the fish tasted relatively fresh. The only thing I didn’t like was that the greens weren’t chopped up more so you can’t really eat the greens with the rice and fish. I also tried the ikura nigiri and it was a generous heap of fish roe. My husband got the 9-piece nigiri and he liked that the fish was room temperature and not cold(indication of a frozen, not yet defrosted piece of fish). Overall, it’s no fancy place by any means but it’s good for the price. The place is super duper tiny. Seats are all close together and the volume is a bit higher than but it’s a comfortable setting.

This place really surprised me. They have a great selection of rolls and other dishes that they serve and they’re cheap! Although cheap doesn’t always necessarily mean bad, not for this place anyway, their food is delicious, and their fish are fresh! They are also friendly and fast. They have a private lot which isn’t that big but we’ve never had a problem trying to find parking. They’re located on a main street so street parking is easily accessible. The restaurant is super small. They literally only have less than 10 tables in there. I don’t think they’re that popular because there isn’t a huge wait and if there is, theres no space to stand so you’d have to wait outside. This place is A-OK in my book, not our favorite but they definitely suffice.

Tried a new restaurant today. Realizing that Hayward has many awesome restaurant. Bookmarking many for future use. Sushi land is a no frill affordable sushi place. The staff and chefs are all Japanese– hence can expect authentic fare. Tried the following: Miso soup– $ 1 each– typical stuff Sushi platter– $ 11– 5 piece nigiri and 8 pcs cal roll — pretty good Dragon queen– shrimp tempura with a lot of stuff– sweet from the teriyaki like sauce– very good Lion king– the best roll of the night. The fish melted in my mouth. The best lion king I have had till now. Saw a lot of people get food to go. It is a small place, so seating big groups may be hard.
