I just walked out and paid $ 50 for basic auto detail. The assistant made an appointment with me. She didn’t mention that they don’t clean/​wash the seats. That’s the point of an auto detail. I got in after two hours, saw dog hair in the back, and all seats still gross. I came back in, asked what package does this. It’s $ 160. That’s more than my dealership! Plus it didn’t state that seats are clean. I could have gone to a vacuum car wash place and knocked it out with in the hour for $ 20. So disappointed. Such a waste of time and money.

After being involved in a hit and run I felt overwhelmed with what to do next. Thank goodness for SCR their staff is so friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They made this process a whole lot easier for me. I also liked that they were available on Saturdays since my crazy work schedule made it hard for me to come in during the week. I highly recommend SCR auto!!!

I am so grateful that I was referred to SCR by my car dealership after getting into an accident in my new Prius. I went to several body shops in the area prior to taking my car to SCR Automotive and had very interesting experiences. At SCR I was greeted by their wonderful and welcoming receptionist Yessica and promptly met by James and Sam. They gave me realistic (and reliable) estimates on the body work needed to repair my car. (The estimate they gave me was almost exactly the total cost of the body work) Before I dropped my car off they called Hertz for me and arranged a rental car and were even nice enough to drive me over to pick it up. While my car was being repaired James and Sam kept me updated on the progress. I just picked up my newly repaired car and it honestly looks better than it did when I first bought it! The body work is perfect, they had to replace the entire door and the side panel and they blended the color perfectly. They also detailed the car. The whole process was seamless. I have been in one previous accident a long time ago and had a terrible experience dealing with insurance and the body shop. I wish that I had taken my car to SCR then. I would definitely recommend SCR to anyone that is looking for a great, reliable body shop.

On May 22, 2015, I sent my new Toyota Prius to SCR Automotive for auto details. After I had collected it on the same day around 4:30pm, I discovered my GPS screen was scratched. Immediately, I informed SCR Automotive of the scratch caused by them. Ms Jessica agreed to repair the scratched screen and asked me to get an estimate repair cost by sending my Prius to a repair shop.
I asked a couple of shops but found that they repaired only the screens of smart phones. So I approached the Toyota Service Station in Hayward where I purchased my Prius. They said they could only replace the GPS with a new one, and the cost and labor was about US$ 4000.00. I have since written two emails (June 19, and July 7, 2015) and two phone calls (August 11 and 17, 2015) to SCR Automotive about the GPS replacement, but have not gotten any reply at all.
I sent my Prius to SCR Automotive again on August 21 at 10am. Since my scratched GPS issue was still unresolved, I asked to see Ms Kate and her manager Mr Abraham. I was told they were both not in the office and would be asked to give me a reply. When I collected my car 4 hours later, the staff said they could give me one free auto detail. I asked for an email from Kate or Abraham. Till today, I have not heard from them. Furthermore, my car was not properly cleaned, e.g. the body and windshield had some dirty spots and the dashboard had white spots. It was not «nice and shiny» at all!
I am terribly disgusted by SCR Automotive’s lousy performance, irresponsible handling and utter lack of integrity and customer service. They have not made good the damage to my GPS screen, and have made me feel that they give only empty promises.

I’ve always been terrified of car repair shops and dealerships because I always hear horror stories of how they always take advantage of women because we’re usually clueless. (There are the occasional badass car chicks but I am not one of them. Definitely fit and mold the clueless group.)
I brought my car in because someone backed into my car. (I know I’m Asian and a female but I swear it wasn’t my fault! The other man’s insurance agreed!) I was seeking advice because the guy who hit my car was nice and elderly and I wanted to spare him the burden of insurance calls but the guys at SCR were very real and honest and told me that it’s always safer and best to go through the insurance because there could be hidden damages.
From the very beginning Sam, the damage appraiser? For lack of the proper term because I’m pretty sure I butchered that, was very helpful and informative. James is the all around guy who I feel like just does everything. He was very helpful and patient with my billion questions.
The process of getting my car fixed was excruciating because the other guy’s insurance who was covering the repairs literally made us jump through hoops to get things going but the SCR guys were in touch with me the whole time and they made sure I felt comfortable with the whole process.
I mostly dealt with James and I can’t say enough about the outstanding customer service he provided! He even let me drop my car off a little after 5 so I didn’t have to leave work early again. The shop closes at 5 pm and I’m sure he didn’t have to stay later but he did! Faith in humanity restored. He was always willing to go above and beyond and a clueless customer like me really appreciates such kindness!
They repaired my car and returned it to me shinning bright like a diamond that even Rihanna would have been proud!
I’m no longer as insecure around car shops because I know good people exist there! Thank you Sam & James for all of your hard work! I’m one happy customer!

I reared end a car and brought the car for repair. James offered professional service throughout and the manager Sam followed through my case. It was repaired to high standard. They would return your text almost immediately. I would recommend anyone to this body shop! Thanks James and Sam.

I’m giving this place, so far, 3 Stars — and that’s not a bad thing. I came into SCR a few weeks ago to get an estimate on my car, and met a employee there named James. Not only was he quick, thorough, and very knowledgeable — the main reason I’m leaving this review is because of his service. The way my situation is, is that I’m waiting on a 3^rd party to get back to me with a specific amount for me to fix my car, so I’ve yet to get any work done. But. James has called me a few times, not in an annoying fashion, to check how I’m doing in regards to this whole process. If I have any questions about my car, how I could go about getting it fixed, etc etc.
So, although I’ve yet to actually have any work done from this shop, I just wanted to go ahead and give it a ³⁄₅ based on just customer service alone. James has done a great job.

They did an excellent job repairing my car! Someone sideswiped the whole side of my car. The damage exceeded the «value» that the insurance would pay but because I didn’t want my car totaled, SCR worked to make sure my car was fixed and I didn’t have to worry about buying a new one. When I got my car back, not only did they repair it but it was fully detailed and looking better than before I was hit. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my baby!
I would totally recommend them to everyone all day long!!!

Great work! done in a timely manner as well. james kept me informed at all times about what was being done! and he also had car cleaned too. i would go back for any of my body or detail work again!

AMAZING SERVICE! Abraham is so great and always goes above and beyond to help out when I’m having issues with my car. He is willing to meet me and pick it up/​drop it back off at work and every time it’s returned it’s detailed and sparkling clean. Haven’t received customer service this great in a while. It’s very refreshing to find a place that you trust.

Bought a Groupon deal and they did a great job detailing my car. I dropped my car off in the morning then picked it up just before they closed. Everyone was really nice.

I’m sad to say they no longer do oil changes here, and that was the main reason I came here. While I will still bring my car here should I need any type of repairs, I will need to find a new oil change and car wash place! Such a shame!
Note to SCR: If you decide to offer oil changes with a free car wash again, I will change the review back to 5 stars!

I bought a Groupon for the SCR 4 hour silver detail package, this was my 2^nd time buying this detail package, I was very pleased the first time so I bought is again, this time was a big disappointment.
I dropped my car off at 12:30pm on a Friday and was told that it would be ready at 4:30pm, at that time I gave specific instruction I told the young lady at the front desk that I wanted the floor mats that are currently in the car thrown away and replaced with the new floor mats that are in the trunk, I also told her that everything in the car that they find is garbage and just throw it away.
I told her that I would not be back today to get my car and I would pick it up Saturday morning, she acted like she understood and ok, I returned Saturday morning a little after 8, a different young lady was at the front desk I let her know that I was here to pick up my car, she said they would bring my car to the front, so I go outside to wait and wait and wait, no one came out to tell me that my car wasn’t ready or they would need a little more time.
I was just waiting after 15minutes my ride said I have to go run an errand so I went with her, so we left and came back around 8:50ish by then my car was parked in the front and I got my keys from the font desk, when I got into my car, the old floor mats were still in the car and the news ones still in the trunk, along with a bag of garbage
the trash that was inside my car that I told them to throw away.
No one came out to walk me around the car to see if I was satisfied, I now notice when I get into my car it has a sour mildew smell, that it never had before, the outside of the car was clean but the inside was just average, my leather and dashboard wasn’t nice and shiny like it was the first time it looks really dull like it did when I dropped my car off I don’t know why they took 4 + hours for what I got, so don’t waste your time or money on the Groupon the work is not consistent.

1 star is for truly poor service, coupled by a truly arrogant disdain for customers.
The Story: They say to reserve 3 – 4 hours for the $ 200 detailing. Ok that’s fine. I brought the car in at noon and returned at 4, giving them 4 hrs for the job. However, I didn’t get out of there until 6:15-ish, 6:30. Really? 6 hours to detail a car?
When I complained at 5pm that I was late for an appt, the manager asserted that he had 20 yrs of experience and this was unusual. Oh really? and you still haven’t learned how to manage time and customers? No one could have approached me and told me they hadn’t even begun to work on the car till around 3:30…
The exterior was done well enough. The interior… they missed the glove compartment and box between driver and front passenger seat.
If your time is valuable, this ain’t the place for you.

At the end of the day, they did a phenomenal job. The $ 49 Groupon price was a GREAT DEAL!
PROS:
— Aside from the lack of communication regarding pick-​up, the customer service was good when making the appointment and upon drop-​off of my vehicle.
— They do perform many other services there such as vehicle maintenance & repairs (although that would have been really nice to know before drop off as I would not have gotten my oil changed elsewhere, just the day before, lol)
— Overall, they did a wonderful job. I have two small children, so after removing car seats and seat protectors, even I was frightened by the mess that was uncovered! They also did a very thorough job shampooing the carpet in the back of my SUV and left all of the personal belongings that were «found» neatly in a plastic bag (or 2).
CONS:
— I did have to book the appointment almost a full month in advance
— I arrived at about 9:30am and they didn’t finish my car until almost 7pm
— I had to call them several times to see if my car was ready yet, they kept delaying and I was the one that had to keep initiating the communication. Perhaps if I was just sitting onsite waiting it would have been different? We ended up having to pick it up after closing.
Would I go back? Yes, probably, if I could use a groupon again. But time is so precious…

I paid $ 200 to get my car preemo detailed (without a groupon) and got shafted. I left the car there for 2 days and rented a car while it was only suppose to take ONE day. I wanted them to make sure they had plenty of time.
I came back 2 days later with the enterprise lady and my car still wasn’t ready. The blonde old woman (i am assuming it is Katie because she was training a new hire) was trying to train and carry a stupid mini dog.
She said my car wasnt ready and they needed 30 more minutes. Wtf??! I went into a rage because they had my car for 2 days for a one day job AND i didnt have a groupon. The enterprise lady was annoyed and had to get back to work (such as myself).
I started to get my baby things (car seat, stroller, lots of stuff that comes with being a née mom) out of my rental and put them in my car while they were finishing up the job angrily and the woman asks, «Can I help?»
HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU GOING TO HELP? YOU’RE CARRYING A FUCKING DOG!!!

When I left around 945am, i saw a post-​it note on my car that said «Pick up at 9am» — which was the time I arrived. *rolls eyes*
My car was not as detailed as it was suppose to be. I could have gone to the car wash for that shit. I wish i had gone to groupon so i could have gotten my money back.
Don’t come here period! And here’s a note to the old blonde woman: You’re in HAYWARD, not BEVERLY HILLS. Leave your stupid dog dog at home and act like a professional.

Man, I cannot even trust a good deal on Groupon anymore. I was so excited to get my car detailed. BUT of course, I always have the worst luck and always find the places where the customer service is out of this world horrible.
Long story short, Lil mama at the front desk Katie is RUUUUUUUUUDE and that’s the truth. Got my car detailed, it was fine but personal belongings of mine were missing. When I came back to retrieve my parking pass for housing complex (which sticks to my window) I was told by her that it was my fault.
HOLDUP tho Katie Boo, NEVER EVER tell a customer that they are in the wrong, when the problem falls on you and your staff. She didn’t even attempt to seem like she was gonna try to rectify or follow up with my situation. Sorry you got stuck working where you are at, but PLEASE brush up on your customer service skills, cause your attitude is going to kill your owner’s business.
And thats all the tea I have on this business.

Let me start off by saying I love my Truck. … I love. My. Truck.
Andrew, manager of SCR Auto, was very polite. He and his staff were outside to greet me as I pulled up with my big truck. They were very professional with checking me in, giving me on the spot estimates for things not discussed on the phone (rim polishing), and about when it would be ready for pick up.
They wash and waxed my truck. Shampooed my carpets and seats. Steamed my engine.
It was great! and very affordable! These guys are pros… im telling you as someone who used to detail for a Toyota dealership.
After inspection Andrew and I walked around the truck and found an area that might have needed a little more love. But not to worry, Andrew insisted I bring it back when I was ready and he would take care of the next job on the house.
This is TRUE customer service and retention. I have already pointed many friends to this business because of my great treatment there. And I will be going back… forever.

PS:
If you get your interior treated/​cleaned/​shampooed know that It may be damp upon pick up as a full detail is 5+ hours and it takes much longer for the upholstery to dry completely. If you can, keep your windows cracked in the sun or you’ll end up with a green house effect :) … and a wet windshield.

Okay, I have to update my review because I just went back for another detail (again using a Groupon) and my experience was a lot better this time around.
First, scheduling was super easy this time! Last time the only availabilities they had were at least a month out. This time, I called on Friday and their next available appointment was the following Monday. The receptionist on the phone (Kate) was also extremely friendly and helpful on the phone and in person (night and day compared to the receptionist from last time). She even explained to me that they had a shuttle that would drop you off anywhere within a 1 mile radius while your car is being serviced. I chose not to take advantage of this since Downtown Hayward is only ½ mile away and I could use the exercise. (Side note: you might want to take them up on that shuttle offer though. Halfway to Starbucks and I was already starting to sweat! ½ mile is harder than it sounds when you’re lugging your work laptop bag under the heat of the sun. Whew!)
This time Abraham did the walk around with me. He’s a nice guy. Very cool, calm, and collected. My BLACK car interior was covered in about ½ inch of white dog hair with dog hair all over the dash too. :X Thanks for not bringing it up and making me feel even worse, Abraham! He also offered to throw in a shampoo (I needed it LOL) but I opted to use it next time because it takes a few days to dry and I thought it would be better to do during the summer. I took everything out of the backseat and trunk. But they did such a thorough job that when I picked up my car, there was a bag full of stuff they had found. I’m looking through the bag now and it’s like a time capsule of things I forgot about this past year. :X
I would definitely come here more frequently if I lived closer. The service here is good and you can expect them to do a good job (and finish by the time they say they will). Protip: instead of waiting for Groupons, call them to book an appointment and ask if they’ll honor the Groupon price. He said they do it for existing customers to show their appreciation for coming back. Not sure about new customers though.

Today my boyfriend got a phone call from the front desk sincerely apologizing for the mishap in our situation.
She offered to fix our AC knob thing at their place or fixing it locally and reimbursing us. She ALSO offered us free detailing for an ENTIRE YEAR!
TALK ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I take back what I said. This is above and beyond great customer service! This is great incentive for us to return to this place, despite the distance from our location. Definitely recommended!
She said she would send us vouchers for free detailing and we can come in every quarter of a year. Hopefully we will not be treated with stigma when we decide to come in! I’m looking forward to getting 5 star service like all the other Unilocalers!
