I don’t know how this guy has good or even decent reviews. Had a really bad experience here 2 yrs ago. Came in for a smog test and brake and lamp inspection. The man told me he was busy and asked if I could leave the car. I was naïve back then as this was my first car and did so for the day. Nothing was done that whole evening and then he called me the following day not to say that the car was done but with updates of findings every 2 hours. When I went to pick up my car, I was with my brother this time and the man seemed very uncomfortable as he went over all the repairs my car needed to pass his smog and brake and light test. The repairs totaled close to $ 5,000! I was crushed as a then naïve girl who just needed this car to get from point a to point b. I went elsewhere and passed everything and was able to register my car. He is full of shit and just tries to manipulate people, especially young women who are unknowledgeable about cars. The brake and light inspection and smog check and oil change alone cost about $ 200?!? The car came back extremely dirty like it had went through quick sand! He is horrible and seems very uncomfortable with certain races. I do not recommend unless you do not mind wasting your money on useless and unnecessary repairs and funding his lifestyle. Never again! Also the area is very small and cramped, packed with cars that he is behind on working on. You can get much cheaper, higher quality, faster and more efficient work done elsewhere.

Sean really helped me out by passing my light inspection, my car was messed up and he worked with me to get it passed, there are other shops that would of charged me again or said no. I appreciate that.

Sean service was excellent. I went their for some quick checks and fixes.i.e. brakes and blinker fuse replaced. The price was reasonable and the service was the best! Thank you Sean! (:

Quick Tune has been my go-​to mechanic for ten years and I have nothing but praise for this place: they’ve kept my succession of mid-90’s Hondas running reliably without charging ridiculous prices or telling me I need unnecessary repairs. Sean and Paul are the only honest mechanics I know, and though I live a half-​hour away, they are ALWAYS worth the trip. This shop is well-​known among public school teachers for being a trustworthy place than won’t overcharge those of us on limited budgets — we ALL bring our Hondas here! Don’t be put off by the handful of negative reviews on this site; I’m sorry those folks had bad experiences, but believe me, they are not the norm.

I took my uncle’s car here on a busy afternoon. The guy Sean was pretty professional and prompt. The service may be slow because the shop already has a lot of cars to fix on.
Took the car here for lamp inspection — technically, it failed but he pointed out what needs to be fixed. The lamp inspection was about $ 90+ and the stuff that needs to be fixed was additional $ 45, which were the lug nuts and something from the headlight. The re-​certification for lamp inspection is free after it failed. Great service. 4 stars for me!

Came in half an hour before they open for a smog test and I ended waiting for almost 2 hours. I left and went somewhere else.

This review is long overdue! I’m sure they do a decent job on oil and breaks because they have cars getting worked on all the time but… Avoid this place at all cost for anything else especially European cars! I took in my Passat because it wasn’t starting and the worst month of my life proceeded!
I dealt with Sean who wasn’t at all transparent with me! After a week or so of not getting it to work, he sent it to VW dealership without asking my permission. Only after going to VW myself did I figure out that he caused more problems to the car than solutions. Now the minimum to start the car was $ 2500. Of course I couldn’t afford that and had to sell the car to pick and pull. I reported him to a state worker that handed me a letter with what he found in his investigation to take to court.
Long story short save your self the trouble and go to a shop that is honest and upfront.

This place says they understand the problem and talk a good game and their prices are not great. It seems like whatever they fix always comes back or something else is wrong that had nothing to do with the other thing they fixed. Everyone’s mechanic nightmare right. Well, I have been here several times as well as family members and enough is enough! Stupid me for staying so long.

I’m done. Asked for a brake inspection and complained if a squealing wheel. They gave it back staying no problem. The next day on the fwy and I almost got into an accident. The wheel hub bearings had come out and grinding against the rotor. I guess it was over looked. Seems like the attention to detail us missing.

This place is horrible!!! The guys that work there are not helpful at all… no detailed explanation given regarding the issue with my car… Instead I got charged twice for something they were supposed to fix and didn’t. Rather than offering to take a look at it again… I. Was told «sure we’ll look at it but this is the charge»… What??? I’d never go back to a place that offers a 6 month warranty only on their work anyways!!! I’ll stick with Fremont Foreign Autoshop… They are the best

Absolutely NOT recommended for business. My parents went to this place to smog their car. When they checked the car out they said it wouldn’t pass smog. They fixed the car and said my parents had to drive 50 miles and then come back and the car should pass smog. Well after 3 weeks, 5 visits (mine being the last), 500 miles put on the car, 3 full tanks of gas (at least), a complete waste of mine and my parents time and they told us we couldn’t use the air conditioner for the couple weeks. I told my mother to go somewhere else for a second opinion. She went somewhere else, absolutely nothing was wrong with the car, in fact they laughed at Quick Tune and Brake, the car has passed smog and is registered in less then an hour (Thank you, AMC on Mission). Quick Tune and Brake is a complete joke, Too bad I couldn’t give 0 stars.

This is by far the most upfront place I’ve found. They don’t rack up the bill by suggesting parts you don’t need and have very reasonable rates. They always seem to be swamped and sometimes take a bit longer than usual to finish the job but it’s a good trade off with thier prices and service. Sam is a bit rude but Sean and Paul are always very nice and pay attention to my concern every time I take my car there.

I had to register my car and needed a smog check. I went to this place and had my smog check done within 40 minutes. The only bad part is entering this place but the crew is professional.

Went for oil change, brake lite on for months too. Sean added a little
fluid and lites off and took quick peek at brakes and said at 50%.
Also they bothered to check air pressure in tires and advised that
fan belt should be replaced on next oil change. OUTSTANDING
SERVICE !!! Only charged for oil change. How about that !

I have visited this place 3 times, and on each visit Sam was extremely rude to me. On the 1^st visit I asked him was he having a bad day & he said no. They ordered a part for my car & never told me it came in, I had to call 2 weeks later to find out it came. When arrived at their location, Sam, Paul & Sean all just looked at me & never said a word. I finally waited 15 minutes before Paul asked if he could help me.
It seems as if they have a lot of business, but they have EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. I would NEVER Refer anyone to go here, not even for a cup of water!

i always take my cars here for all their maintenances. they are honest, they won’t rip you off for anything you don’t need. great work and reasonably priced!
Sean is the man!

I’ve mainly been dealing with Paul & Sean; I’ve been going to their shop since 2005 for all my auto checkup up – oil change, smog check, etc. They’re knowledgeable, polite and I know I can trust their work. It’s difficult to find a mechanic you can trust where they won’t jack up the price when they pretty much know you’re nearly clueless when it comes to cars.
They also don’t recommend unecessary repairs or maintenance services, like how other car shops do. Their service is also pretty quick, of course depending on how many cars they need to work on before yours. They’ve also been able to give me a ride to work (I work less than 3 miles away) when I need to leave my car for a little while. Of course this isn’t part of their regular service :-)
I highly recommend their shop for all your car maintenance & repair needs. They’re close to the 880 (across the Hayward DMV) so it’s pretty convenient to get to their shop.

Great customer service and the mechanics here know what they’re doing. Been going here for several years for smogs, brakes, and bigger engine problems and have always had a good experience each time. Paul is always realistic about when the work will be completed and tells you up front how long it will take and approximately how much it will cost.
