I just bought a brand new Toyota Camry SE 2016 from AutoNation.
I went to the other auto dealers in the area (Toyota, Honda, Nissan & Mitsubishi), and all the dealers there just wanted to hustle me into buying any car.
If you decide to buy a car here look for FJ Qayomi, he spent more than 3 hours with me testing out the new 2016 Toyota Corolla SE and we eventually bought the Camry.
The whole time he never forced me to make any decisions or even pushed me to buy the car, he just stated the facts and eventually help me to work out a 5,000 dollar discount.
John Hamedi was the financing manager and we were lucky enough to work out a power monthly rate for the car.
Look for these two awesome people, if oh do decide to get a Toyota.

To whom it may concern,
My father and a cousin recently purchased a Toyota Camry from your Hayward store. Their experience with your sales and finance department has left me speechless. It also left my cousin in utter distrust of the American society in general as he is a recent immigrant to this country. My father is a 75 year-​old-​man who felt he was taken advantage for his old age. Your dealership had somehow managed to build a negative perception of your company, with three different demographic groups in one transaction.
To start, your salesperson asked my cousin to provide copies of his social security card for identity verification purpose as a requirement for his auto loan. This is after my father has cosigned the auto loan. To make matters worse, your salesperson requested for social security card image (both front and back) to be sent to his personal mobile phone. This alone is a serious breach of any corporate privacy policies. It is begging for a law suit when identity theft is already so rampant. I can get no additional explanation from your salesperson other than Finance required it.
Second, your Finance Manager, Sunny, sold three warranties to my cousin and my father whilst misrepresenting that they were already included in the price. It was only after I had a chance to review their contract and loan document had they realized that over $ 3500 was added to their loan which they insisted that they didn’t ask for or wanted. Furthermore, I felt my family was taken advantage of for their lack of command of the English language. If there was translation provided, it was inadequate. Nonetheless, selling additional warranties and services under false pretenses goes against ethical conduct policies of any respectable entity. I’m sure AutoNation would not want to be known for questionable practices, even if they’re borderline legal.
Lastly, there was little effort to reach out by Hayward Toyota when I called to request for immediate remedy and cancellation for the policies. I had to drive, along with my cousin and 75 year-​old father to your store in heavy rain to have the matter resolved. Or so I thought. Instead of canceling the policies and reducing our loan amount immediately, your finance manager is withholding the cancellation until the first loan payment is made. According to him, this is to ensure that we don’t default. It makes absolutely no sense to me. So I checked in with my friends at other Toyota dealers. The reason, I’m told, that your finance manager is withholding on the cancellation is because he will get a partial commission if the policies are canceled after 30 days; and my family is left paying interest on the $ 3,500. This is now beyond any ethical boundaries that I would expect a company such as yours to cross.
So in summary, I expect your company to right the wrong that was done to my family. I expect the policy cancellation to go through immediately; and not after the first payment is made. I expect your company to refund to my family any interest incurred on the excess principle we had to pay due to your company’s delay in processing the policy cancellation. As little as the actual amounts maybe, it is the principle and the restoring of faith for my family that matters. I also expect AutoNation to provide additional training on protecting customer information as having a customer send copies of their private documents to personal mobiles are unacceptable.

SALINA, once again took care of our car needs and her service is superb! Salina was honest, upfront and easy to talk to. She teamed up with other Toyota experts to ensure it will be done right. Our car was done in a timely manner as promised. Last, it’s nice to go where they remember your name. Good job, Salina –Toyota Hayward Service and parts dept– Leo!

I went to AutoNation Toyota of Hayward today to have my 2015 AutoNation Acura serviced. After reading the many negative reviews I thought I might be making a huge mistake. After speaking with Carlos Saldivar many times on the phone I decided to give them a chance. I was greeted warmly and promptly by Ted (new to the dealership) and Carlos was right along to check me in. I was told by another AutoNation dealership that I needed a new front end strut which Carlos had ordered for me upon my request ahead of time. To my shock and amazement I was told that I do NOT need a new strut at all. Carlos and Dax showed me
that there wasn’t even a scratch under the car. Everything was in great shape. They will return the strut that they had picked up for me without any reservation or hesitation. I am leasing an AutoNation Acura from another state and must go to any AutoNation for service. After loosing sleep on whether this was the right decision I am happy to write that this was a very positive experience from start to finish. I will continue going to this AutoNation Toyota dealership for future recommended service for my 2015 Acura. Thank you again to Ted, Carlos and Dax for a very positive experience.

Since day 1, the first day I purchased my USED vehicle (2÷14÷14), I’ve had the worst experience. Which is sad because the majority of their reviews are great. I came in with my friend being my co signer.
It went downhill the moment my friend (Chris) and I walked into Harish’s office (finance manager). He completely changed up the contract without even consulting us. He changed it to just Chris’s name. How did he know he even wanted that full responsibility when the car is for me? Whatever, he agreed and signed all the paperwork. We put $ 2000 down CASH!
Few weeks go by and Toyota sends Chris to collections for $ 2,000 down payment we didn’t pay ??? Are you serious? We fought for weeks because Chris and I weren’t so responsible and lost that receipt !! Eventually they realized we were right and they were wrong.
Mind you, by this time I’m still waiting on plates and tags to come in the mail because for some reason this used car did not have plates. Months and months go by and I don’t receive anything. I’m calling Toyota and speak with Rosario, the receptionist, and she’s doing all she can do for me because obviously she’s just the receptionist. All she can do is take down my name and number and have someone call me back. Which no one ever did btw. Smh. I show up to the dealer July 2015. A whole year after I have purchased the vehicle. I get sent to the piece of shit Harish office and yes i curse and yell because I already have a bad history with him for what he did to me day 1… I tell him I still don’t have plates so the bastard tells me that they did their job and I should expect plates within 90 days.
So I call the Dmv speak to some clerk named Yee. He tells me I need a VIN verification. They do it at the dealer but that I owe $ 900 in fees and penalties on expired registration. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!? So I’m livid. I know I shouldn’t be responsible for this but at this point I’m prepared to pay whatever I have to pay to get registration current. I get in line to do the VIN verification and the lady does it but then when I get inside to pay, the clerk tells me she can not take a penny from me because they’ve been waiting on the dealer to send some document over since March 2014. WHAT?!? I thought they did their job ?!? Well that’s according to Harish that is.
I show up up to the dealer AGAIN on Thursday 1÷28÷2016. I’m just dying to speak to the Famous Harish that’s already on my shit list because this SOB told me they did their job. I go into his office and explain to him that he did not do his job and I’m not paying these fees because for one the dmv is not taking my money and two, YOU DIDNT DO YOUR JOB. So what does he do? Takes my name and number down and tells me he’s going to call me back and guess what? He doesn’t. You would think as many times as I’ve called and came in he would remember my name. lol. That fucking piece of shit.
Today, I go in and ask to speak to a general manager. Eric comes out. I explain my situation nice and calm because he doesn’t know what’s going on. Even though inside I want to throw the biggest fit because I don’t want to get stuck paying this ridiculous amount on a mistake of theirs.
Eric was such a good help to me. He’s obviously someone who cares about his company’s reputation. He knew someone dropped the ball there and definitely took action and responsibility. He said he’s going to walk into the dmv himself tomorrow and get this situated for me and at NO COST to me. You have no idea how much of a big relief that is to me because I don’t have $ 900 to fork out.
All this time I was just really dealing with one wrong person at Toyota. A lot of time and money wasted all because of one stupid person. Someone like him shouldn’t even be a part of business like this. The car business is already shady. LOL. You can’t have a person show it. That’s just wrong.

Bought my new RAV4 there about three weeks ago. Why? Because my previous RAV4 was over twelve years old, other than the sunroof leaking never had a problem with it, still going strong but hubby felt I deserved a new one. So we started out «just window shopping» and ended up here. The young guy, Dylan, was great. He was upfront and honest that he was new, still learning about the vehicles and service and very willing to get whatever information we needed. The best part… he wasn’t pushy. I don’t like pushy sales, especially car sales. Surprisingly, I found my car right away. We sat down with Dylan’s manager, negotiated the deal and sat down with another guy to handle the paper work. Everything went well and I would’ve given this a four star. (Five star to me is exceptional, above the call of duty… rare.)
It’s down to a 3-​star due to how the «Head Office» handles and relates to their on-​line review. In this review, I responded to a question that had to due with their Parts Department. It wasn’t a complaint, simply an observation to which they could handle as an opportunity to improve. But I was told that the On-​line Review is handled as a reflection on the sales guy (Dylan) that sold us the car and because of my observation it is a black mark on him. When I objected, pointing out that that was another department and staff to which Dylan has no control, I was told this is how Head Office handles it. I objected and said I would write a letter to the Head Office but it was suggested that I write here where Head Office reads the reviews and are more likely to respond since it is so public. I hope so!!! Makes me think twice about recommending this place to anyone or returning there for service.

Being a used car customer, one who works in automotive business and has bought many used cars in the past a word to those whom are paying attention. Read a number of reviews and understand folks love to embellish the bad. I’m not a big fan of dealerships but they like any other big business get things wrong on occasion. I bought a used Prius form this group under fair terms and after a years ownership I will say without hesitation it has been a solid car as it was represented to be at the time of sale.
To be fair there was some difficulty in the handling of a documentation regarding the purchase of an extended service package but those concerns were in the end handled to my satisfaction. Purchasing a new car is almost never a five star event and a used one well it can be nerve racking at best. Just take things slow, when an issue arises don’t forget to look at it from their side. Some give and take on both sides and you will find AutoNation Toyota Hayward comes in well above par.

I had a terrible service experience. I made an appointment and mentioned that I am a hour away from the dealership. I was told my service would take 30 minutes but ended up being 2.5 hours. Then I was in the waiting area and the service guy, Zhi Zhang, called my cellphone and told me to come to him after I just saw him check another lady out in the same waiting area I was in.
I went to him and he didn’t even come to my car to throw away the trash HE left in my car or adjust my seat back. I never write reviews, but this was a horrible experience the only reason they get 2 stars is because of a nice lady who helped me while I was there.

I don’t like to do one star reviews, I really don’t. I like to try and give people the benefit of the doubt before making any judgements, accusations, or assumptions. As someone who has worked customer service for eight years, and journalism/​PR for five, I have dealt with a lot of people, and unique situations.
I had made an appointment for my 70,000 mile service a handful of days ago. Great, awesome, appointment for 9:00am. I’m leaving for a big road trip tomorrow afternoon, so it was perfect. Would give me enough time to do what I need to do, and prep everything for a stress free Sunday. Wrong.
I pull up around 9:05, and I shit you not, I counted — 22 other cars around me. They were already there, so I figured we all got here at the same time. Ten minutes go by. Twenty minutes go by. Half an hour. At this point I’ve whipped out my Playstation Vita and started a new Final Fantasy IX save file for the hell of it.
Told myself if it was an hour after my appointment (10:00am), I’d go see if I could reschedule, and get an update. So, 10:05am hits, and I go into the service office.
Nobody in there cares if you walk in there. I could have honestly walked in naked, waving my arms, and still wouldn’t have been helped. I found a woman at a desk, and decided I had to speak up to get attention. I tell her I’ve been here since 9, my appointment time, and need to either come back later today, or tomorrow. She very coldly tells me they’re closed tomorrow and that if I stick around today, I won’t get my car looked at until noon.
NOON. THREE HOURS AFTER MY SET APPOINTMENT TIME. I’m like, uh, no. I’m leaving for Vegas tomorrow, and I need this done. She looks at me like I’m stupid, and tells me I can wait to be checked out. Wait more? Nope. Backed the hell out of the lot, and called Dublin Toyota.
Needless to say, I won’t be coming back, and Dublin gained a new customer.

After visiting a few Toyota dealers in the East Bay, we decided to give Auto Nation Hayward a shot. We appreciated Monsoor Ali’s chill approach to selling. No aggression, no pressure, listening to our wants in purchasing a car, and going to and from the finance manager to get the price we wanted.
We left happy with a 2016 RAV4 and it’s been a great experience thus far.
The minus star is for lack of snacks. Being at dealership can take hours and a pregnant wife needs nutrition.

I am sad to review this place as I shouldnt lend them another iota of my time save to file a complaint with the automotive bureau. They have manipulated and deceived me right from the start not to mention their excessive pricing for inferior work. I brought my car in for diagnostics and later found out it was never conducted. I talked to the mgr who brought me in for a re diagnostic free of charge. Once again I get thw eun around from the service Assistant Carlos. Evwrytime I asked a question he retorts «I dont know, do you want to schedule your repairs.» Sorry but why would i schedule repairs that may not address the problem my car is having??? So I take my chance of calling around and the Fremont toyota tells me that Hayward was attempting to sell me the wrong parts and charge 2 times more than it should. So I called Hayward back for clarification only to be talked down to by Carlos again Who sais in the most condescending manner” Hold on I gave you a free diagnostic which I shouldn’t have done and you want to complain?” I was so angry because my time ans cars health is being squandered repeatedly and now im being disrespected by someone who’s job is assistance. Not good. He tells me to save time and money just go somewhere else. I told him thats what I did but noone can even read or understand what parts Hayward said I need. At least he is up front that id save money because elsewhere has diognosed my car FREE and quoted the job at $ 700. When Hayward quoted over $ 3000 i may as well buy a new car!
I should have said enough but carlos was so egregious I felt his boss should know. So I called Darel Kessler only to be met with more insult upon my injury. He absolutely refused to address the poor customer service was abrupt and seemed to only want to charge me more money when after3 days of wasted time ans 2 days without a car they couldn’t figure out the true problem. Dont utilize this place go to fremont toyota if you must go to a toyota dealer much more honest!

I started using them to in 2012, to service my 2009 Corolla. I was happy with them until my last experience in 2014. I brought my car in for scheduled maintenance, and had a couple other minor problems. After what was estimated to cost me about $ 1200, my bill suddenly grew to $ 2200 dollars! Outrageous, even for a major service. I was going through health problems at the time and didn’t have the energy to put up a fight, so I decided to pay and cut ties with these vultures. I’ve since gone back to Toyota 101 in Redwood City, where I bought the car. The service there is much better, and most of all fair and honest.

I just purchased a brand spanking new 2016 Toyota Prius V Two from Rick.
Rick is the most pleasant sales person I ever dealt in my life’s and this was my 7^th vehicle that I ever bought from a dealer. Rick made the purchase of my new Prius V very easy, positive and smooth. The 1^st time I came to the dealer just to check out the car, Rick took me to the lot and let me check absolutely everything in that vehicle. I purchased this car to use it as my service car as a HVAC contractor. So I needed to make sure that all my stuff will fit from my previous Chevy Uplander into the Prius V. And it did!
Rick didn’t ask me any stupid questions that car sales people usually asking you («What’s your budget» or «Are gonna buy it today or when»).
After long research Rick gave me the best price in The Bay Area.
Next will be dealing with Rick and Rick only for SURE.

This place is seriously lacking. Contacted them several times via email and their website chat about a car shown in inventory. I received conflicting information depending on who was providing, so I figured it was best to go view the car myself. I advised their website sales team that I would arrive in the early evening. After a long and frustrating drive through commute traffic, I find that not only wasn’t I expected, but nobody could locate the car I had been asking about for several days. Total waste of my time. The only positive item was that they have a nice, clean building … which will likely be vacant soon if they keep treating potential customers in the same manner.

I really tried holding back this review, but I’m just compelled to write one now after how Hayward Toyota has continuously fallen short of performing simple service jobs. My review is solely based on the Service Department and let me begin by saying that I was a fan of the Service Department when I directly dealt with one of the top mechanics there in the past — Mehul Patel.
Now that Mehul Patel is gone, my 2012 Highlander has been here a few times, but each visit required having my car there for a few days to do some simple work that was covered under the warranty. So here are the problems I faced:
1. Untruthfulness — A piece of the plastic of my driver side B Pillar (interior plastic pillar between the front and rear of the car) was broken as I had noticed a rattling noise. When I dropped the car off, the mechanic also confirmed that a piece was broken when he looked at it and told me he would order the new part. So I left the car here for a few days waiting for them to get the new part (because they also had to work on a different issue with the car).
When I finally picked up the car and drove it home, I heard the same noise appear and when I carefully examined problem area, I was surprised and saddened to find out they did NOTHING and left the same piece just as I had shown them but charged Toyota HQ for the work performed and told me that it was fixed. Well, not really… they actually made the issue worse because when they removed the lower half of the pillar, they didn’t place it back properly, causing more vibration on the side of the vehicle.
So when I went back and showed them, the mechanic’s response was that it’s fixed. Really? How can you blatantly deny that it’s fixed when it’s clearly broken off? So after coming to his senses and realized there’s no good explanation, his response was «who worked on it last?» So the service manager comes out and looks for the part that was ordered and tells me that the ordered part was still here. If it were still here then
2. Dodgy work — one of my tail lights had a wide opening in one area that allowed 2 or 3 spiders to crawl in and get trapped. So I brought this to the the mechanic’s attention and he said he’ll order a new part.

Not bad at all. Recently, I went in for an issue and the service advisor, Shamoun went above and beyond to have the problem taken care of. He took time to address the matter with such importance, which was admirable. This has not always been the case at this Toyota location.
I’m a happy customer.

Good and bad. All depends on who you deal with. I bought my truck here last year and was ok dealing with the salesman, then dropped big time with the finance/​sales manager. ALL about the upsell of their extended warranty. He’ll be nice at first, until you decline his sales pitch. Then good luck getting an answer about anything, he’ll rush you out the door.
Service. You pull up, people with Autonation shirts walking around. They don’t communicate or help each other. The attendant tells you to talk to the guy inside, then he tells you to go back outside. Then I check back to pick up my car, attendant tells me to talk to another guy, then that guy tells me to go inside and find some other guy. He said I don’t have a computer out here. HORRIBLE customer service! These people need training, also learning english would also help. Not trying to be a dick about language, but at least learn basic, so customers can communicate with you.
To top it all off. They started my routine maintenance check 2 hours after my appointment time. Right when I asked to check on the truck to see if it’s ready…

Terrible shuttle service. Waited over an hour to be picked up and i am only 4 mins away! Thats crazy! Never go back to service here again!
Their mechanics are slow and lazy. You can tell by looking at the way they work. Loud radio. Chatting with each other. One guy working on car and three guys standing and watching. Do you know why it takes them 2 hours for an oil change? It’s because they always take their sweet time!
Terrible telecommunication. Have you tried to contact the right department and you just keep getting transferred over the phone? I ended up talking to 4 different people and they transferred me back to front desk. Ridiculous!
