Chase Bank

Walked into this place Wednesday at 2:15 pm and there were 5 people ahead of me and they only have one older lady helping and she was having a long conversation with customers
After 5 mins waiting and no one was moving and not other people come to help
I decided that they don’t deserve my business and I walked away

Terrible service. Every time I go in there im waiting for hours to speak to someone in a cubical and if ur standing in line for transactions it’s another 45 minutes. They need more employees. and on top of the one of their three atm machines has been broken for months! I’ve had it. Very disappointed and displeased with this location for the last time. Will not be returning.

I live in San Jose but work once a week in Hayward, I stopped by this bank to open up a checking account and even though I did weight longer then I expected I am glad I did! Rylos Taylor, helped me open up my account and was extremely nice! He made me feel comftorble and even started a great convo with me. Great person to help you with your banking needs, I will continue to come here because of him.

After waiting in a line to see a teller about replacing my ATM card, I was told I needed to take a seat and wait to see someone else (who? I have no idea). There aren’t that many customers here, yet I’m still waiting. It’s been 30 min and no one has even acknowledged my existence. I’m thinking there is a better way that Chase could be accommodating my simple request right now. I shouldn’t still be waiting

Only one customer service representative to help 5 people waiting one customer already token 25 minutes needs more employees

Since my last review, I did bank with Chase because they offered that $ 250 to open an account. I opened up a savings account here and had a business account here. I closed both since I really wasn’t gaining much with it was just sitting there. They got rid of the high security doors and offered free coffee while you waited. The banker that helped me close my account was friendly and direct and didn’t try to convince to keep the account. I appreciated him not taking up more of my time when I have already made up my mind. Thanks for keeping my money safe, Chase.

I received a check from Chase from one of my awesome business endeavors, and figured it would be more beneficial if I went to the branch. N O P E, boy was I wrong. Long story short my visit sucked:
— Waited in line for 10 minutes
— Was charged 6 $ to cash the Chase check
— Was required to have 2 forms of ID, even though my first was CAID
I gave two stars because the teller was nice and patient.

I cannot say enough bout the high quality customer service that I have received from CHASE. I live in Tracy but work in Hayward. Every time I have come in Everyone is very friendly and helpful, the ladies greet you with a genuine smile and desire to help. Maybe even a tad overly cheerful but I am NOT complaining, on the contrary, I love it!
Anyway, I had a small hiccup with my ATM card but I felt that George, the gentleman who originally opened my account was so attentive and took control over getting me taken care of. even went as far as Resending it via express mail:) I am very satisfied and I had to share what a wonderful experience I am continuing to have being CHASE customer.
Great customer service goes a long way, you never know what someone could be going though and the positive interaction and prompt service could put a little sunshine in their day. At least that was the case for me today. Thanks George, keep up the great work!

This is the WORST location of them all. Since becoming Chase, customer service has tanked. My ATM card expired and I was never sent a new one, so I had to order one. I didn’t realize that if you order a card you have to go inside and reset your password. My bad. When I went inside I went to a teller and she told me, in a very rude tone, that I had to go sign in and wait for a personal banker to help me. OK, whatever. I told her that 2 of the ATM’s were not giving receipts and the 3^rd was not accepting cash, she shrugged. Umm… what? That was the final straw. When it was my turn, in addition to resetting my ATM card password, I closed 2 of my 3 accounts. When asked why, I said it was because the customer service at Chase was nonexistent and their fees were ridiculous. I now go to the credit union, which happens to be in the same parking lot and they are WAY NICER and friendly.

Opened a business account here– it was fast and i got what i needed. So for that matter, I usually give three stars. But the fellow that helped me forgot my checks, and I left and didn’t even have my checking account or routing number.
I chose Chase because opening a biz account is easy (only 2 docs needed) and they have an app to deposit checks remotely (time saver to limit bank runs).
They told me that there was no charge for my business account if I used the credit card for $ 1000 of purchases every month. No problem, I said– but when I called back in the next day they told me the credit card approval takes 3 – 5 days. So if it doesn’t get approved, the bank account I just set up will charge me fees? That’s not up front and honest. That’s worth one star.
So together– 2 stars. Bankers. Meh. If I could find a credit union who handled business accounts well, I’d switch.

so they are still holding my check and today i got an email for insuffecent funds transfer, they just made that up out of thin air, um hello the saving account has been closed. how is that even possible. tomorrow i have to go down to the bank again to talk about this issue. i feel like calling 911, file a law suit, the check has been cleared buy fremont bank but chase wants my mother who wrote the check to come down to verify that it is cleared, they got many tricks to delay me untill they can think of another fee.

The service here is awesome and all the people have always been more than helpful. I love that I get to see the same people every time I go into the bank. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is because Chase itself has really pissed me off by charging me 10 dollars unless I have 1500 in checking, which makes no sense, because I keep all my extra money in savings. I think it is ridiculous that I am charged just because my boss doesn’t offer direct deposit.
Other than Chase slowly robbing people. The customer service is what keeps me coming back. If it wasn’t for the people that worked there I would have already said good bye to Chase and opened at a more reasonable bank.

Really great customer service. I mostly hit up the atm but ive never had a problem with this branch or chase. I ve been banking with wamu/​chase for 12 years now

I am writing this review as a fan of the Chase branch on Foothill, not of Chase Bank in general.
The branch on Foothill has been remodeled, no longer has the bullet proof plastic box that everyone has complained about. It’s actually nice & open now, with Plexiglas on the inside like most other banks.
The staff is ALWAYS courteous and helpful, especially when problems arise — which is why I have a negative review of Chase the bank. On the many occasions that Chase has wronged me, the Foothill branch staff and management have been there to adeptly pick up the pieces. They have consistently waived fees, reversed penalties and gone above and beyond to help me to resolve whichever current issue I was dealing with. As for Chase the bank, they leave much to be desired.
For example:
When Chase took over WaMu, I lost my ability to deposit money at an ATM for 8 months during the transition. The reason? I initially created my Washington Mutual account in Washington State. Why would this be a problem? I don’t know. To this day, no sufficient explanation has been provided. I simply lost half of the functionality of ATM use for an 8 month period, for no logical explanation.
Another example: Did you know that one person with your routing number/​account number can go and have checks made with a fake name/​address and pass them using a fake ID? I actually did know that, but I assumed that such action would be insane, as the bank would never clear such an obviously bad check. And I would assume wrong. Because Chase pays them. See, they don’t actually look at the checks when they come in from businesses — they just blindly pay them all. For me, this was to the tune of $ 1800+, with 3 checks total. So not once, not twice, but 3 times Chase received, and cleared checks that had a woman’s name (my name is not ambiguous) an Antioch address (I live in Hayward) and a fictitious phone number.
That said, the staff at the Hayward Foothill branch were once again top notch. Marcie & Andrea helped to get the situation resolved, my money restored, and a new account opened with as little stress as possible. I am deeply appreciative of the staff of the Hayward Chase — they’re the only reason I am still a Chase Bank customer.

Really friendly bankers and their customer service is excellent. They always try to resolve your problems as quick as possible.
I really appreciated that when I went in to discuss credit cards and debt, the representative explained each card bit by bit, weighed the pros and cons with me and his own personal opinion.
They are great!

Convenient location near Safeway and a large street aka Foothill Blvd.
However, I wish it had a drive through because it can be a bit creepy at night with the dark shaded areas. It’s also a mosquito haven around the 3 ATMs outside. Beware and make sure you don’t get bitten!

This review is based on customer service. I understand that when a company systems go haywired and messes up 50,000 or so customer accounts its not the employees fault. However friday something happen to my account where 3 transactions were charged twice and so with that happening my account over-​drafted. We tried to deposit our check and since it was at a negative balance we could not withdraw out money. Whats up with that… so we ask a banker to help us and she was very patient however I still dont understand why I couldnt withdraw my funds becuz ur guys system F’d up. We asked to speak to a manager to override it since it wasnt our fault and she she we would have to wait 30 – 45 minutes since there was 2 people a head of us. How could you only have one manager working during a friday at peak hour when everyone and their mama gets paid and wants to head to the bank. Basically she told me I couldnt do anything about it except pull out $ 40 bucks and come back 2m. WTF so now i have to make another trip to the bank on a sat. Thing that pissed me off the most was I had a bill to pay by 5pm and since i didnt get to use my money in the bank cuz their systems messed up I got charged a late fee of $ 35. I MISS WAMU!!!

This is NOT my favorite location.
The ATM’s outside are no problem. There are three and they cycle through pretty fast.
However…
Getting inside is worse then the airport. You have to go through the metal detector one at a time and wait for the green light while being trapped in the glass box for the green light to go on (as described before). When I forget and my DH & I go in at the same time, all hell breaks loose and we have to start the whole process again.
The tellers are nice. The line goes quickly. I’ve opened accounts here with no problem. People are pretty knowledgeable.
Then I leave. Oops, forgot I was in a hurry. Nope, the door slows you down. You have to stand in a glass box again, Wait for the SLOOOOOOOOW door to close and latch from the bank side so you can safely open the door to the outside world.
FREE AT LAST!!!
You know, I never realized this was a dangerous neighborhood. I should have seen the signs, the Kinko’s, Safeway, Starbucks, ya, the place is really going down hill!

I understand that Banks have lot’s of cash, people’s I.D.‘s, information, prized posessions, etc etc. But in all honesty, what the hell is with that Glass box they like to trap you in when you’re entering the Bank?
What happened to the bullet-​proof glass in-​front of the tellers?
No, now they have a huge glass box, with some lady who sits where you can’t see her, and pushes a button to let you in.
Might I add, when she’s on lunch, no one else who works at the bank is smart enough to PUSH THE BUTTON!
