Applied Waterproofing Systems

7÷2÷15 — Have been in touch with Neal at Applied Waterproofing Systems since last year and was waiting for the weather to get warm to install waterproofing on the second floor deck of my fourplex which is above the carport. He is very efficient at returning emails and getting back to me. The job has been scheduled and I will post before and after photos once it starts. He came highly recommended so feel confident the job will be done properly.

Applied Waterproofing just finished waterproofing my badly cracked and leaking driveway and the front entry to my home. They did a great job. it surely looks like I won’t have anymore water damage and it looks gorgeous! (Of course, only time will tell.) My family and I highly recommend Neal and his team!

Update: we had a couple of places that cracked a little and the crew did a bogus job of repainting it so you could tell it had been fixed. Neal himself came up and redid it. No attitude, just reliable, honest, low-​key Neil. Again, I wish I could give him six stars.

We had been struggling with a leaky tile deck in our backyard for two years. It is over living space and during heavy storms, would leak into the room below. Not only was this an issue, but whenever the deck was wet with dew or rain, it was slick as ice. I wanted to have it waterproofed in a more affordable manner than completely re-​doing the deck.
Neal and his two employees arrived the first day and promptly began working. They were very detailed with their work, acknowledging every possible place where the water could enter. They finished the 3-​step process very efficiently and timely. I am very pleased with how it came out! There is a texture to it which now will prevent slipping when wet, and all previous leaking areas have been sealed.

Neal and his crew at Applied Waterproofing came to our rescue this winter! My family owns an apartment building in San Francisco with a large deck that began leaking. After meeting with several waterproofing contractors in San Francisco, I was pretty frazzled, as I got very conflicting (and some very expensive) proposed solutions to fix the leak. I then got on Unilocal and found some very positive reviews for Applied Waterproofing in Hayward and decided to give Neal a call. I found him to be very informative, very honest, and felt that he really knew his craft. So, Neal came out, looked at the deck, proposed a solution that made sense to me, and that was very reasonably priced.
I had the deck work done in January. It was a little dicey, as the conditions were not prime (the weather was a bit cold/​wet) for installing a waterproof membrane but Neal made his best estimate on the weather conditions and guaranteed his work. As the deck was leaking, we decided to go forward with the work. The good news is that the deck has not leaked a bit. It’s been a relatively dry winter, but we have had a few storms that would have produced a leak before the new membrane, but the deck remained waterproof. What a relief! We did have a small problem crop up in the last week, with the texture coat (top coat) chipping a bit, likely due to the weather conditions when the coating was originally applied. I emailed Neal and he promptly contacted me and without hesitation stood behind his work. He will be out right away to patch or replace the top coat.
The deck looks great, Neal and crew did a wonderful job, and Neal stands behind his work. I am very happy with Applied Waterproofing and would not hesitate to hire them again or to recommend them.

Neal Golding of Applied Waterproofing has come out to our 20+ year building on several occasions to renew deck and roof waterproofing, waterproof after renovations, troubleshoot, etc. He has always been very helpful and willing to go the extra mile, providing perfect customer service and excellent work.
