We’ve had to bring my nieces car back in as she blew her engine. such a big decision to spend money on an older car, but Leading Edge’s owner and mechanic Billy M. went over all my options. We ended up letting him rebuilt the engine. It was completed in about a week. The guys that work here can be trusted and do great work.
Note: they are in a complex of little shops, so make sure you drive in and go to the back of the lot. Also Billy is great with calling back and keeping you posted on progress. He not only respects his reputation but he has respect for his customers. Ladies, you will be treated well with no worries of being taken advantage, as is so customary with women seeking help with their cars.

Fantastic!!! I came here on a recommendation from a good friend. Everyone o spoke with and met was very nice and helpful. Barry performed the work on my car and answered all my questions completely and thoroughly. I asked Sean to price out the list of repairs Lexology had provided to me and he was able to beat most estimates significantly. Barry went back and looked at the suggested repair list and discredited some of the major items noted, saving me hundreds of future dollars. These guys are honest and perform great work. You don’t have to do anything more to win my business, you’ve earned it!!! Thanks!

Bad service Hispanic guy that works for him scratched up my car and being a douchebag not worth going to this place very disrespectful to customers and our cars.

Very honest and no price gouging. I went Southbay Autohaus on rosecrans and they wanted to charge me about $ 250 for the labor on replacing the transmission pan on a 2004 BMW 530i which I thought was way too much. I came here and Billy in the man, he did the job for $ 60 and it is working just fine. I highly recommend, they seem very down to earth and honest.

Leading Edge Automtive!!! Girls if you need your car worked on there is no other place you want to go. Billy (the mechanic) is so incredibly honest. I was restoring my mom’s 37 year old mercedes for my daughter when I met Billy as a mechanic. I can’t tell how many times Billy went out of his way to save me money and how he beautifully he restored this car that had sat in my brothers backyard uncovered for 14 years. She runs beautifully. Another example was about 4 months, my father is 89 years went to the same mechanic for the last 20 years or so. Over the last year and half every time he went to get his oil changed his mechanic told him he needed new brakes. My daughters and I have always thought my dad’s breaks we super sensitive and they were making any noises plus my dad thought he had, had his breaks done the year before. So I told my dad to drive over to Leading Edge and have Billy check them out. Billy said, my dad’s brakes were perfect and that he didn’t need new brakes. Billy saved my dad $ 235 that his mechanic was trying to convince him into spending. Yesterday was the icing on the cake, my roommate took her car to a place very close to where we live to have her oil changed. They charged her $ 82 for an oil change on a Honda Accord and then told her she need front brakes for $ 260, New belts $ 115, transmission fflushed and replaced for $ 135, powersteering fluid flushed and replaced for approx. $ 130, brake fluid flushed and replaced for approx $ 130 even though they were replacing the brakes. They told her their were cracks in the belts and they suggested that she flush all the fluids mentioned above every two years when everywhere else including the manufacturer says every 100,000 miles. I told her to tell them no thank you and I had some one that was honest that could help her out. They said they had already drained her oil so she would have to go through with the oil change. Then when we got there they said it would take 30 minutes, what for if they had already done what they said they did. We took her car to Leading Edge and after Billy looked at her car, he said, her front brakes did need replaceing which would be $ 140 including the brake fluid. (Compared to $ 260 +$ 130 they wanted to charge her) and her belts did not even have one crack in them, her fluids were good for another 20,000 miles so all she needed was front brakes. Her cost from the place in Hawthorne $ 140 compared to her cost at the other place which would have been $ 852 for items she didn’t even need. An honest mechanic is what everyone is looking especially for us women who get scared into doing work that was never neccessary. Thank you Billy and thank you Leading Edge for being exceptionally helpful, honest and all around a great to have your car worked on. I will refer everyone I know over to you.

Excellent, Honest, Reliable Auto Repair Shop. The owner is so helpful and really know about cars. He had my car fixed and back on the road quickly and did not rip me off. I would highly recommend them.

Leading Edge is a little gem of a garage in the Southbay. If you’re looking for an honest mechanic who charges very affordable labor, and will even install parts you bring to him and someone who specializes in performance as well, then Billy at Leading Edge is your guy! I’ve brought all my cars to him including my Mustang GT and my Impala SS to him for the past few years, and he’s as honest as it gets. He’s a solid mechanic who doesn’t screw you and he also does classic car restorations, rebuilds performance engines, etc. He works on all domestics and imports, but specializes in american muscle. If he can save you money by installing a good solid reproduction/​rebuilt part instead of brand new, he’ll tell you all your options before you give him the green light. The guy knows his stuff, and especially knows performance cars and racing parts. I highly recommend Billy and Leading Edge Automotive.
