La Quinta Inn & Suites NE Long Beach/Cypress

I am a loyal member of the La Quinta hotel chain and I must say that this site sis not disappoint. The hotel was emacculate and the customer service was phenomenal. The room was clean and tidy. I encountered some minor issues that was addressed with the front desk.
The last night of my stay was presented with some disturbance from the neighboring room. I immediately called the front desk and the issues was resolved. I would definitely recommend this site to others. A word of caution, I would not leisurely walk around after dark in the area surrounding the hotel it does t seem too welcoming. There is a shopping center filled with restaurants a movie theater and a Walmart a few miles down the street.

I’ve never had a restful sleep here. its LOUD and youll be woken up by barking dogs or maids laughing loudly and slamming doors in the hallway.
The receptionist isnt very welcoming and doesnt smile. Make sure you put the «privacy» sign or housekeeping will just barge in at 9a.m.
The walls are thin so the staff should adjust accordingly but they just go around loudly as they please. Phones ringing, doors slamming, dogs barking.
Ugh. Never again!

Although front desk was very nice and professional this hotel was not worth $ 125 more like $ 80. Mildew on the shower ceiling, dirty corners and some of the lament was coming up on the dresser. Needs a remodel. Breakfast was terrible, the only thing good was the raisin bran cereal. Stayed here because of a family emergency and was less then a mile of where I needed to be. Next time I will drive further.

Very clean and quiet, and a very good breakfast and a friendly staff. I we pull recommend and return to this hotel! Always pet friendly!!!

After a night on the sofa bed mattress, my 12 year old woke up in the morning sore and with SPRING indentations on their body. As a result, the second night, Jan 8^th, we called to requested extra blankets and explained we wanted to provide cushioning from the springs. The staff member offered a roll-​away bed, if it was available. When she brought the blankets, she said she asked if we still wanted the bed. We said we would prefer the bed over the blankets and said yes. We showed her and had her feel the springs of the sofa bed mattress and told her the discomfort my daughter experienced in the morning.
When she delivered the bed to our door, I noticed the bars holding the bed closed were bent and mentioned it to her. She simply acknowledged it and said it would be fine. As I rolled the bed into the room, I noticed and nearly cut myself on several sharp places on the frame. We opened the bed frame with difficulty because the bars holding it shut were bent and did not have a lot of «give». The foot end of the bed fell to the floor because the frame was so bent, the u-​shaped leg that was suppose to hold up that half of the bed was half the height of the head of the bed. The whole bed teetered back and forth when fully open. The bars holding the bed closed protruded from the sides of the bed.
Right away, we called down to let to the desk to let the staff member know that the bed frame was completely broken and bent and could not be used. We let her know it that as a solution, we were going to take the mattress off the folding bed and place it on the sofa bed mattress. And then we asked her to come an take the frame since we didn’t have space for it in the room and the 4 extra blankets we would no longer need. At this point, the staff member said she was going to charge us $ 10 for the roll-​away bed. I told her we shouldn’t be charged for something when the sofa bed was not usable. She said we would need to speak to her manager in the morning. We rolled the frame into the hallway and listened for her to come take away the frame, so we could also hand her the blankets as we didn’t want some one to take them, just sitting in the hallway.
When I realized she never knocked on the door for the blankets and just took the frame, I went downstairs to return the 4 blankets. I asked her again about not charging us for the bed because it was our solution to the terrible sofa mattress. She said she would do it. Then when I said I felt it wasn’t right to be charged for the bed that was our solution to the uncomfortable sofa mattress, she backpedaled and told me that I would need to speak to the manager in the morning about removing the charge. I said we had an early morning and would not have time to do so. She asked me what time I was leaving in the morning and when I told her she said not to worry, her manager would be in at 7am and I would have plenty of time to talk to her. I found this arguing back and forth, promising to take off the charge and then saying that I’d need to talk to the manager in the morning very upsetting. I told her I’d appreciate it if SHE would remove the charge and would try to see if we would have time to speak to her in the afternoon.
10 minutes later, she called and said she was adding a credit to the room for the charge of the bed.
I also spoke to staff two different times about having pet waste bags replaced in the pet area and although both times I was offered several small trash bags instead, the bags in the pet area were never replaced.
I have written to the company and have not heard a reply

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice for events nearby. Four stars, because I’m feeling like a generous rounder-​upper this evening.
The Good: Newer and very clean rooms, real breakfast buffet, tons of cable TV channels, a fridge in the room, cheap.
The Not So Hot: Paper-​thin walls, through which I can hear everything going on the in the adjacent rooms and the hallway. Not great if you plan on staying asleep past 7AM.
You could definitely do a lot worse in this part of town.

Seriously the worst ever! Check in there Friday night and found rotten berries in the ice bucket, our smoke detector was opened with no batteries and the front attendant said house keeping went home for the night so she didn’t have anyone to come up to help. It was only 7pm! I left the ice bucket out by the door! And had a room next door with barking dogs! We left Saturday morning for a convention no one was at the front desk, we got in about 1030pm that night and the bucket was still by our room door! They are way understaffed! We checked out Sunday and I left a hand written note for the manager Michelle! Never got a call or a email back! It’s been two days!

Pretty nice place to stay. Clean and quite. Nice staff surprisingly nice rooms for the price.

Wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Walls are paper thin and you can hear people walking around in the hallways and even through the vibrations in the floorboards. Wasn’t able to get a comfortable night’s rest while I stayed here. The rooms are small and the bed was rather stiff and it was noisy even in the middle of the night. Also, the breakfast was terrible. The potatoes were undercooked and the fruit was underripe. Don’t count on getting a good breakfast here.

Stayed at Quinta Inn for 3 days 2 nights. When I walked in to book the hotel a few days before my stay I was greeted and treated very polity. I called the day I was going to check in and asked for an earlier check in. I was told «definitely come on in» a room was ready for me. The rooms are very spacious & very clean. They offer a delicious breakfast with a variety of food everyday. Their gym is small but perfect for a short workout.

The office chair was broken, shower head sprayed in every direction but on me, drain plug from the tub was gone. I asked to have them fixed and my request went on deaf ears. Walls are paper thin, i could hear a dog howling and the person above me stomping around. I thought I heard gunshots outside last night. Horrible neighborhood and location.
Overall — ugh.

4.5 Stars.
Pros:
–Great price.
–Clean room.
–Easy check-​in.
–Nice staff.
Cons:
–No heavy blinds to keep the sun out. When you get back at 3AM and want to sleep in until 11AM, it sucks having the sun fill up the room.
–Walls are thin. Could hear neighbor screaming over the phone.
–Doors are loud when they slam shut.
–Towels were sorta grimey.
I’d stay again, especially for the price compared to everyone else.

We’ve been staying in La Quinta in SoCal the past several years and this is the La best of La Quinta.
Free Wifi. Without password does that mean it’s a better neighborhood?
Breakfast. With bacon. Most La Quintas I just eat a banana and some cereal. This one actually has eggs, potatoes and bacon. All you can eat bacon has to be at least one star by itself.
Free luggage carts to use.
Parking is plentiful
Room is clean. Water is hot. I didn’t hear my neighbors, and hopefully they didn’t hear us and our newborn waking up in the middle of the night.

Bf’s family and I arrived at this La Quinta after an exhausting weekend on a cruise from Mexico. We arrived a little earlier and asked the lady at the front desk if we could check-​in early. She said we can check-​in at noon. So we ate breakfast and came back around then. Lady at the front desk seemed mellow and straight forward. Didn’t give a smile or a welcome. Anyways, check-​in was super quick and we were all just really excited to relax and take a nap before we start our SoCal adventures.
We all stayed on the 4^th floor. Our room was a good big size and it was simple. The bed was really comfortable and there was always something good to watch on the TV! What I like most about hotels is how easy you can manage the thermostat. In our room, it was really easy to switch from hot and cold — and the perfect room temperature.
The bathroom was clean and simple too. The shower knob for hot and cold water was easy to maneuver. We didn’t have any problems with scolding hot water or freezing temp water. We didn’t try the coffee machine because the inside was dirty.
Wifi was definitely faulty at some points. I feel wifi had the best connection in the morning.
Continental breakfast is always my favorite. There was a good amount of food set up for everyone. They had cereals, different types of breads, scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes (which you need to salt yourself!), and a waffle maker. All were pretty good for a starving morning person like me. There is also a coffee machine, but I didn’t really enjoy it since the coffee tasted watered down.
All in all, our stay here were great. This location has many stores and food joints nearby which was really helpful if you don’t wanna drive so far.

Once you get over the fact that you’re in a not-​so-​fancy area, this hotel is pretty decent. It’s a nice looking building with a lot of parking. The lobby area is well kept and pretty fancy. There is free breakfast from 6−9am, which consisted of sausage, eggs, waffles, toast, muffins, bagels and cereal. Not bad actually. The room itself was nice and clean. There was a flat screen, microwave and a mini fridge. It was super quiet and we slept peacefully. All in all, I’d stay here again.

Poor customer service and unprofessional staff.
Like another reviewer, I did not have the opportunity to stay because my reservation was cancelled. I initially booked a 2-​night stay for work (the nights of ¹¹⁄₂ & 11/​3, booked through their website, not a 3^rd party). When I was called back to the East Coast for a funeral and realized I would not make it back for the first night of my scheduled reservation, I called the hotel (¹¹⁄₁) to cancel only the first night and the front desk attendant confirmed that I would still be there for the 2^nd night and indicated that the change had been made without implying difficulty (although she did ask questions to clarify the situation several times).
When I arrived to check in on ¹¹⁄₃ around 10 pm, I was told that I had been counted as a no-​show the day before, so they’d given away my room for the night of ¹¹⁄₃. Additionally, they were completely booked up that night, so I ended up having to find another hotel (side note: the Hampton Inn: Seal Beach was very nice and very accommodating). The person manning the front desk at this time, Sabrina, was nice, but didn’t seem to really be able to help, as far as logging the mistake or helping refer me to nearby hotels. And niceness doesn’t equate to professionalism, especially in a situation when I was near tears and when a sincere apology would go a long way.
The next day I called to talk with the manager, Kathy, who was nice (as in, not mean), but didn’t offer an apology or even listen to the whole situation before telling me she’d give me a call back and that I’d been charged the no-​show fee (which I was not advised of when was actually at the hotel). I didn’t hear from her that day, so the next day, I sent her an e-​mail detailing the situation (dates, confirmation number, etc.), also asking for receipts showing the charge to document for work. I didn’t hear anything from her, so I called the following week, when she let me know that they’d refunded half of the charge but had no record in the system of my cancellation. She did tell me that I could e-​mail screenshots of my phone showing my call to the hotel, which I did and am waiting for a full refund.
Ultimately, mistakes can happen, but a sincere apology and desire to rectify a mistake can go a long way. Additionally, I’ve felt like I was the imposition for asking questions about this situation, and I will never attempt to stay at a La Quinta again.

Very friendly staff. When I asked about early check in, I was politely told that the rooms weren’t ready. When another person asked about 10 minutes after we came in, the rooms were ready but the worker remembered me and told him, «she came in first so let me help her with her room and I will be right with you.» When I asked if I could grab something on the go because I would not be able to make it to the 7−10am breakfast frame due to running the Long Beach half marathon, she told me she would write a note to the morning workers about having breakfast set up by 6:30 for me. What a sweet heart! I think her name was Erica.
The rooms were clean and I love that the hotel is smoke free! It is also dog friendly (at no extra charge). Breakfast includes: bagels, muffins, make your own waffles, sausage patties, eggs, potato wedges, cereal, oatmeal, apples, oranges, yogurt, bread, orange juice, apple juice, and milk. It includes a gym, Jacuzzi, meeting room, and computer room.
It’s a convenient location surrounded by many places to eat, a Korean grocery market, a nearby casino, and the El Dorado Park (must pay $ 5 – 7 parking).

If I could give negative stars I would! I never actually had the pleasure of staying at this hotel because my reservations were given away before I could check in.
Upon arriving my first impression was «wow this neighborhood is icky!» There was a cool looking dive bar about two blocks away which was probably the most alluring thing about this place.
Thankfully I made my reservations though
and was able to get a better hotel and sleep in a bed that night.
I also found out that when the LaQuinta’s over book they put their spill over up at the lovely Super eight next door without notice!
I will Never make a reservation with any LaQuinta anywhere ever!

NO INTERNET… Stayed here for over a week… Room #405 with a group of over 30 people. Most never had connection to wifi. I had two computers and could not connect either wifi or hardline. Complaints were made daily… Fixes were supposedly made but still no internet. The business center internet was slower than dial up… Took 20 – 30 seconds to load google maps. And this too was every day. I couldn’t connect to wifi in the lobby either. This was not for personal use, I needed the internet for business. Terrible.

You’ll first be worried about the ghetto area and find this place actually pleasant. It’s a newer building.
Free Wi-​fi is slow.
Free parking.
You can hear your neighbor’s TV and loud people walking and laughing through the hall way. You can also hear the people upstairs so I’d recommend asking for a higher floor.
Many channels on Direct TV.
Everything’s new so it’s a decent choice in the area.
