After I bought a house in Haverhill this was the first restaurant my husband and I ate at and the experience was so bad I refused to eat at any other restaurant’s in downtown Haverhill for 6 months. When we first entered my hopes weren’t to high that we would enjoy our dinner. The restaurant was lit in fluorescent light, everything looked like it was covered in a layer of grease and they were using lawn chairs as dining room furniture. I felt like I was in someones musty old basement. The service was not very memorable but I will never forget my meal. We both ordered the vegetarian burrito, which was priced at over $ 10 dollars, and margaritas. The margaritas were passable but the food was horrendous. Served on Styrofoam plates we received a stale tortilla stuffed with canned black beans and a side of wilted romaine lettuce. That is all. It was beyond flavorless and neither of us could manage to eat more then a few bites. We quickly payed our bill which came to about $ 50 dollars with the tip and left. I felt like I was ripped off because nothing I experienced there was anywhere near worth that price. Avoid, avoid, avoid this place like the plague. After getting over my fear of eating downtown I can tell you there are great places to eat in Haverhill that deserve and need your business. Please pass on Pedro Diego’s and treat yourself to an edible meal.

I could not believe how bad a restaurant can be until we went last Friday. I am not exaggerating when I say Taco Bell is 100 times better than this place for Mexican food. Matter of fact, any food… We walked into this place and was basically empty expect for 1 table and 2 guys at the bar. I had the burrito with spicy chicken and my wife had the Chimicanga with beef. I have never seen or tasted such crap. My burrito consisted of boiled chicken with a hint of hot sauce taste. That’s it. No rice, cheese, beans or anything inside. My wife’s burrito was basically a deep fried version of mine except it tasted like stringy beef with onions and no flavor. Absolutely disgusting. The sides of rice and refried beans tasted like it was reheated everyday for a week. Nasty… There was a guy who was either the owner or manager with a Pedro Diego baseball shirt on. He didn’t really care what crap came out of that kitchen and more worried about what’s on TV at the bar. The waitress was not the brightest bulb and when asked if our food was OK we had an obvious look that it was not OK but she didn’t address and asked if we wanted it packed. We didn’t eat more than a quarter of our food. Needless to say, I don’t recommend this place. Horrible…

My husband and I went here with some friends on a Friday night. To say the least– we were all disappointed. First of all– the place was empty! That should have been our first indicator. Then we were handed plastic placemat menus with options like pizza, burgers, calzones. This is very confusing because I thought it was a Mexican restaurant! The service was ok, our server was actually very patient and attentive(which I expected considering we were her only table.) The food was fair– nothing special. The atmosphere was uncomfortable– no music, plastic tablecloths, weird lighting. It seems like there are a few«regulars» and we could hear them at the bar swearing and getting over-served. I don’t think any of us will ever go back.
