Description

Specialties

Westwind Potters is a nationally recognized source for quality, affordable, handcrafted American goods. While we place an emphasis on functional pottery, we also offer unique pieces from a variety of artists and mediums, including work by juried artisans from «Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia», basketry, turned wood, hooked rug art, glass, regional paintings, notecards, and more! We’re confident your purchases will find a valued place in your life.

By expanding Westwind’s representation of regional artists & mediums, and by adding visiting artist trunk shows & weekend workshops, we hope you will enjoy returning here, making new discoveries with each visit.

History

Established in 1983.

Founder Jeffery Kabatznick established Westwind as a working pottery studio. While pottery production stopped in 1993, the shop remains in his family and is noted by The Washington Post’s ‘Roadtrip’ as, «A great place to visit.»

Lisa K.

Manager

A functional potter herself, Lisa brings her expertise and eye for design as Westwind’s buyer. A juried ‘Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia’ artisan, she strives to promote the work of other regional artists & enjoys seeking out well-crafted, unique items to add to the shop. She and the rest of the Westwind staff are happy to help you select the perfect gift or memento of your visit.

Lisa feels lucky to live and work in lovely & historic Harpers Ferry, and enjoys meeting Westwind customers, some of whom are in their second generation!
