I have used a kitchen that was original to our home which was built in the 1940s. It needed almost everything. Gilbert keeps a close eye on each and everyone on his staff. His managers (hi Victor and Raoul) do a wonderful job keeping the work moving along. Every bit of the job was over seen by Gilbert who would come over and keep an eye on everything. If something was not to Gil’s standard, he would very quickly send some other worker over to redo the work. Thank you to all the workers who helped us reach our dream kitchen.

Rocha just finished a project our HOA hired them for in 3 days. Not only were they ahead of schedule but when they left it looked as if they were never here. My patio was spotless! They had to dig a large trench in a planter that was leaking into my home and waterproof the wall plus install a drain. He had to do this a few days after we got a large amount of rain. He had to dig up the sidewalk and everything and they were literally done in 3 days. Every other contractor told us it would take at least a week. I’m SO IMPRESSED.
It’s not just about the time however. From the beginning this family owned and operated company has made the experience personal and comfortable. They show up looking and acting professional and get the quotes out in a timely fashion. They explain what they are doing in detail and even send pictures when you are having trouble visualizing the concept.
Dealing with an HOA can be a bit cumbersome for most GC’s but Victor was so understanding about how we needed to proceed. I honesty can’t say enough about how pleased I am.
Thank You Rocha Construction for being an HONEST company. In the world of general contracting I’m discovering honestly and integrity are worth it’s weight in gold and this company has both.

How often do you find a contractor who does what he says he’s going to do, when he says he’s going to do it, and makes sure that no matter what you end up delighted with his work? Gilbert and his whole crew ran a massive renovation of our house and they did a beautiful job, we really couldn’t be happier with the result. They bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of every step of the way, and worked around the fact that we needed to live in the house during most of the reno. Highly recommended.

The Rocha family has been extremely awesome in helping our family with all the construction work done at our home. They are very professional as Gilbert personally came onsite and gave us all the details, cost and time frame that we wanted to know. I recently completely an extensive renovation of my home with Rocha Construction, and while I seldom take the time to write a review, I feel compelled to share the wonderful experience I had with Gilbert and his crew.
I live in the Hollywood Hills, and while I had plenty of recommendations, I had seen Gilbert’s work on a friend’s home and knew I wanted to hire him. The job was pretty comprehensive: all new floors, doors, windows and roof (with solar); moving and re-​doing a kitchen; adding a bedroom; adding skylights and new lighting throughout; building an outdoor living room with fire pit, barbecue and pergola… Basically, a new house. Gilbert calmly, professionally and skillfully guided me through the entire process. I got a detailed bid, breaking out every part of the job. He recommended an excellent architect to draft construction drawings. When we were ready to start demolition, he gave me a clear schedule, so that I would know when I needed to select and order various materials (tile, Nano doors, appliances, etc.) in order to have them ready for each phase of the renovation.
This was not my first house renovation, and by the end of the last one, I was no longer speaking to my contractor. Now that this renovation is done, I’m having Gilbert and his family over for a barbecue to celebrate. Because, while nothing goes perfectly in a renovation, it’s the way your contractor handles setbacks that gives you peace of mind. On the rare occasions that a subcontractor’s work wasn’t satisfactory, Gilbert handled it quickly. When our door and window supplier told us that they would be a few weeks late with their delivery, he shuffled the schedule to make sure we kept making progress. And, as other reviewers have pointed out, Gilbert sometimes noticed things that I didn’t — a wire not tacked up as cleanly as it could be; an awkward brushstroke in the paint on a door jamb — and if it look right to him, he would fix it, even at his own expense.
I must also take a moment to acknowledge Jose Guerra, who was my project supervisor and gave my home the attention and care he would have given to his own. Jose was fantastic — a reflection on Gilbert, whose integrity and commitment to doing the job well and doing it the right way has earned my respect and appreciation.

Gilbert was recommended by a contractor that I initially contacted because of the great reviews on Unilocal.However, due to the size of job, they could not commit and recommended Gilbert instead. I included Gilbert in the list of contractors that I invited over to give me an estimate. We bought a house with an unfinished window. The other contractors told me that it would be an easy job because they just needed to seal the window. No one but Gilbert looked at the bigger picture. He saw the wood rot on the edges and clearly explained what the problem was. He recommended taking down the window and place a new drywall with new flashing. His price was high but he showed me a detailed breakdown of where the money goes. I asked the other contractors for a quote to do the job that Gilbert recommended and their price was slightly lower. I asked Gilbert if he can give me discount as we have limited budget after the home purchase. He did not hesitate and told me he will look for another window supplier and true enough we found one who sold the window at a lower price. The job was done as promised. What impressed me most was when if asked him when he would like to pick up the check. He said he wanted to see the window first before I pay him. So he came and told me that he wasn’t completely happy with the paint… My husband and I couldn’t see what was wrong with it. We thought it was perfect. Gilbert sent his guy to re-​paint the wall. This proves his honesty which is very important nowadays. I highly recommend Gilbert!
