Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Dr. Walt Wexel was a Navy brat, born at the Naval Academy and raised throughout the United States and Japan. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science in chemistry at the University of Michigan, then trained with the Army 82^nd Airborne. After the war in Vietnam ended, Dr. Wexel went to dental school at the University of Michigan. He left the Navy Dental Corp as a Lt. Commander after doing a General Practice residency in Philadelphia and serving as the Medical/​Dental Department Head onboard the USS Mount Whitney in Norfolk. Since he completed his post graduate orthodontic degree at the University of California San Francisco in 1980, he has practiced orthodontics in his Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Newport News and Hampton offices. Dr. Wexel is an active member of the American, Virginia and Tidewater Dental and Orthodontic Associations and a former president of the Tidewater Association of Orthodontics.

Dr. Wexel married a southern belle, Brenda, and they have raised three daughters — Mela
