Hair in my egg roll. To the point that I could PULL it out. Grease dripping off of egg roll. General Tso lacked flavor.

Love their Kung Pao, Green Beans and Spring rolls! My wife and I went there all the time when we lived in the area. Sure do miss it!

I’ve got to toss in a review to share my ~15 years of experience with this place and drive up the rating. First, let’s rate this for what it is: a tiny Chinese takeout run by hard working immigrants who live to run this place and make great food at good prices in record time. Could it be cleaner in appearance? Hell yes! Do I think it’s unsanitary? Nope, and I’d be the first to leave if I thought it unsafe. Parking is never something I look forward to here though, I have to say. Prices are reasonable, especially when you consider portion size; they Pack their containers tight and bulging with food. When I pick up $ 20 of takeout for my family, I’m always amazed at the weight of the bag that I carry to the car. Specific recommendations: their House fried rice and General Tso chicken are exceptional and I’ve never had better elsewhere. I honestly don’t think there’s a better Chinese takeout in Hamden. I will continue to support this hard working family.

I will never go to this place again. For one, the customer service was non-existent. I get it, its a place of business, but we didn’t feel as if our service was appreciated. We ordered chicken wings and french fries. When we opened the food, the chicken was soggy and very moist like it had not been fully cooked, and the french fries looked the same.

I ordered food on their online website at 7:45. By 9:05 I still didn’t receive my food. I call to complain and they explain that they don’t check their email. It made NO sense and that type of service is unacceptable. If the online ordering does not work for them, they need to take it down. Absolutely ridiculous!

When I’m craving cheap Chinese food at work, I’ll order from Blessings II Go because it’s my closest option. The food itself is average to slightly below average when it comes to Chinese takeout, but it’s fast and cheap, and it gets the job done. At lunch, you can get anything on the menu with rice plus either a can of soda or soup for $ 5.50. You can also make anything a combination platter with rice and an egg roll at any time for $ 7.50. Some of the menu items aren’t that great(the egg drop soup is really weak, and they use a lot of breading/batter on their sweet and sour orders), and the two times I ordered brown rice it was actually plain white rice fried to a dark yellow, but when I’m ordering Chinese takeout, I’m not really looking for stellar or healthy eats. The usual suspects like General Tso’s and beef and broccoli are fine, and their lunch specials/combos make decent, satisfying meals.

Very good quality take out. Made to order so takes time, especially soups and particularly the hot and sour – which is the most authentic in the area.

I used to live right behind this place so it was ultra convenient. I now live 10 min away and I still go to it even though there are many other places to go to. I base my opinion to Chinese restaurants to their steamed pork dumplings and dipping sauce and I love theirs the most. Their dough is thick and always taste like they just rolled made them. I also love their mixed vegetables and chicken/beef. So do my kids. My husband is a big fan of their pork-fried rice. They are very consistent and fresh. My only issue is that when you order for delivery. They can never understand what I am saying and vice-versa because of their strong Chinese accent. It’s frustrating and it takes longer than an hour for 3 «meals». Every time I ordered for delivery(2x and never again) either was missing an item or something wasn’t what I ordered. So I learned my lesson. Just for Pick-up!

I had a mad craving for beef and broccoli and stumbled in on this place as it is right down the street from where I work. Nice because I didn’t have to go far to satisfy my craving. I ordered over the phone and went in for pick up. The place is really small next to the record store on Whitney ave. The food was ready, hot, and fresh. This place is a to go only place, no inside tables to sit, hence the name II go. For food I tried their wonton soup, fried crab Rangoon, and of course their beef and broccoli. The wonton soup was good although had a slightly burnt taste. The crab Rangoon was really delicious, one of my favorites, and the beef and broccoli what I expected. Good food for inexpensive prices. Close location. Take out only which wasn’t a problem because I work so close by.

Blessings II Go is your typical Chinese food take-out place. Cheap, fast, & kind of dirty… I had sort of high expectations for this place because a coworker who lives nearby was raving about it. He went so far as to say it was the best he ever had. I have since come to the realization that he just doesn’t eat out very often. I judge Chinese restaurants on several factors, but first and foremost on their version of General Tso’s Chicken. Theirs is mediocre at best. It appeared to be all white meat, which is a plus, but the sauce was bland and gooey… The white rice was not the usual sticky rice, but seemed to be not fully cooked. I totally appreciate the concept of a family business, but they had a middle school aged kid just hanging out in the kitchen. I’m no expert on health standards, but this has got to be against the rules. No hairnets or rubber gloves. Needless to say I will never return to this place unless there is absolutely no other option available and I am starving.

Sometimes you just gotta have Chinese takeout. Despite the fact that my taste for Asian food has now tilted toward Thai and Vietnamese cuisine, the Chinese food gene rears its head from time to time so you place an order. This is a sister location of the more well known outpost on State St. in New Haven. But it’s close to home, cheap and convenient. I don’t get the hate I see from other reviews. The takeout here is not bad at all. In fact, I think their House Special fried rice is some of the best I’ve had. It is chock full of meat, unlike a lot of other takeout joints who skimp. But there was no shortage of pork, chicken, and shrimp in this dish. Quite impressive. The shrimp were actually good size. Beef with snow peas had a nice twist to it also with some cut up green beans adding some unexpected crunchy texture. Nice move here as well. I’ve also ordered standard fare such as wonton soup, chicken fingers, boneless ribs and steamed dumplings. Nothing remarkable among this group but all satisfy when the urge hits. As a side note, they take the Q Card so I’m sure Quinnipiac students are a major customer group. I wouldn’t usually write up a takeout joint like this unless it stood out with good food. And as we all know, when you find a good Chinese takeout place you keep going back because we also all know what the dark side of unknown Chinese takeout is like.

Don’t waste your time. If it were half the price, maybe. I was very bummed to spend $ 30 and throw the majority of the order away. Very oily and improperly spiced. Meat was sub-par.

Ordered take-out from this place. On a Saturday night, the delivery took over an hour(for an address very close by to the restaurant). For reference, we tried: sesame chicken, mixed beef and vegetables, veggie low mein, hot and sour soup and wanton soup. The hot and sour soup was noticeably lacking the hot. Overall, the quality of the meats and other ingredients was good, but the taste of most of the dishes was pretty bland and uninspired. Definitely not worth the wait.

I have to admit that this place is a guilty pleasure. Not the cleanest of places, and the service is pretty fair(especially on the delivery side). But they do make the best General Tso’s Chicken I’ve ever come across, and the lunch special doesn’t get past 4 dollars(and they pack those trays).
