Specialties

We are a small family farm that specializes in fall décor and fresh produce. We grow many varieties of pumpkins, gourds and squash including gold rush, howdens, sugar pies, cinderellas and gourds. We also have corn stalks and straw hay bales available. Our pumpkins are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Due to insurance restrictions, patrons are not allowed on the farm. Product available through wholesale or delivery purchases only.

History

Established in 1999.

We’ve been growing pumpkins for the public since 1999, though

our farming roots begin in the 1920’s. That is when my Grandfather

immigrated here from Italy. After working some

years as a field laborer for a local farm, he decided to give it a go

running his own farm. He leased a parcel that contained the Tunitas

property we now farm on. Through determination and great toil, he

became very successful growing crops such as peas, beans,

lettuce and most of all artichokes! In the 1940’s he purchased a

farm in downtown Half Moon Bay and operated both plots. As the

years went on he focused more of his effort into his downtown

parcel and eventually stopped all farming operations on Tunitas.

In 1999. We were able to aquire a piece of family

history when one of the Tunitas parcels he farmed so long ago,

became available. Since then our family has worked together to

preserve traditional farming and incorporate sustainable practices

to produce fresh, healthy produce.

I’m a young 3^rd generation Half Moon Bay Farmer. At the age of 7, I started selling munchkin pumpkins and gourds in front of my house on Pumpkin Festival weekend. As I grew up, I became more and more involved with other farmers in my family. The fall season has always been my favorite, so pumpkin farming wasn’t that far of a cry for me. Today, I operate Tunitas Creek Family Farm with my mother Joanne and my wife Tricia. We specialize in a variety of pumpkins, gourds and squash available for wholesale purchase.
