Meeting Chrysann and engaging in a skincare routine with her has been one of the greatest gifts I have given myself as an adult. Her knowledge, personal care and overall commitment to making impact has made a huge difference in my appearance and overall confidence. I highly recommend. She will help you be the best you can be in terms of skin n care.

This review is long overdue. I’ve been a happy client of Chrysann’s for at least the past 6 years… maybe 7? I can’t remember. I’ve had wonderful facials and she listens to any of my concerns. I have sensitive skin and her products haven’t irritated me at all. She knows her products and takes the time to get to know you. She is knowledge and I completely trust her recommendations. I purchase my face wash, moisturizer and sunscreens at Abundance and I am so happy to have connected with her all those years ago.
Also, my husband is a firefighter and often spends hours outside training and working. He stopped wearing sunscreen a while back because it would always get in his eyes when it was warm outside. Both of us use the sunscreen that Chrysann has recommended and we have no complaints. Not just for women!

I am a Senior Citizen and found that using products from Abundance Skin Care has diminished my wrinkles and have make my skin look more youthful. Chrysann and Maureen are very helpful in finding the correct products for your skin type. Chrysann’s facials are the best! My friends have noticed the difference in the way I look.

I got to experience a «Ladies Lipstick Brunch» this past weekend and it was awesome! They donate packages like this to local schools and nonprofits to support the community (which is a huge plus in my book). The little house that the studio is in is adorable, right down to the claw foot tub and cute siting area with antique mirrors.
I think we got their most popular facial, which takes off several layers of dead skin… and for me, it totally worked! My skin tone evened out quite a bit the next day (and I regularly exfoliate at home already). The ladies there that helped us were great, the whole experience smooth and hiccup free from what I could tell.
It’s a small shop, so not really the type of place you just drop by (although I’m sure you could). I’d make an appointment to check out the space and see if it’s for you. Very personalized and charming!

I came to Abundance for the Luxe anti-​aging facial special ($ 145, reg $ 225). While the experience was pleasant, I’ve had better facials. What bothered me the most was that the website said to, «allow two hours.» I was in and out of there in an hour and fifteen, and that included paperwork, prep, and dressing. Chrysann was sweet but I felt like there was a lot of focus and hoopla regarding the gadgets, whereas I just wanted to relax and zone out. While I enjoyed the experience, I’ve spent less money for more relaxing facials that produced better results. For the «discounted» $ 145, I could have gone elsewhere for an actual two-​hour facial that included massage and a more spa-​like feel. I’ll grant a little slack since it’s probably a fair price for this touristy town, but if you are willing to go elsewhere in the Bay Area, there are better deals to be had.

All last week I had it in my head that I was going to get myself a facial on NYE. But I kept forgetting to call and actually make a dman appointment. So on Saturday afternoon, like 5:30pm, I was calling around to all the skin places in the area. Most were already closed; the others either didn’t have any openings for such a short notice, or didn’t even have aestheticians in on Mondays. I ended up leaving a voicemail message for Abundance, not really expecting to get a call back… but like an hour or so later, Chrysann called me back and said she could indeed fit me in on Monday morning. Yay!!! So I booked the Pumpkin Facial and was happy.
On Monday I arrived and sat down with Chrysann for the initial consultation. She asked if I was really set on the Pumpkin Facial because it might be too harsh for my skin. I said no, I’m really just there to get my skin happy and healthy (I haven’t had a facial in like 3 years and that shit is so congested) so whatever she thinks is the best route, I’ll go there. She’s the expert after all!
So I ended up going with a short peel and an hour-​long facial treatment, which was very nice. I actually signed up for a series of peels over the next few weeks in order to set things at rights, so no need for extractions or any of that crap. The peels, by the way, are minimally uncomfortable and not scary at all.
The treatment room is super adorable and cozy, and the little bed is warm and snug. I love all the antique furniture around the room. It’s also clean and smells of lavender, so it’s nice and calming.
The products Chrysann uses are actually much more minimal than I expected. Turns out I have been using way too many products, and the wrong kinds at that, for years. I didn’t expect to hear that… normally, aestheticians try to sell you MORE stuff, not tell you to use less. I didn’t feel like I was getting a hard sell either. Instead of trying to hawk a bunch of products to me at the end of the session, she gave me a week’s worth of samples to take home to see if I even like the product line and if it’s going to be right for me. No sense buying it if it’s not going to work, right? I like that approach.
So I’ll be coming back again next week for my second peel and a half-​hour facial and after my experience, even my husband is thinking about coming in for a man-​facial. Ha! Awesome.
Oh, and I didn’t realize it until after my session, but Chrysann usually isn’t even open on Mondays. She said it’s normally just an «office day». But she fit me in anyway. Yay! :D

I always have my makeup done professionally once a year for the holidays and have only the highest recommendation for Maureen who is the makeup person on staff at Abundance. I’ve had my makeup done by others but Maureen offers that «extra something special». She has a great eye for color and possesses an out-​of-​the-​box flair that comes from doing the thing you love and are gifted to do. Maureen is the reason I keep coming back to Abundance year after year.

While Chrysann is nice and accommodating, I’ve had better facials for $ 110.00. (50 minutes). The room was rather cold. Also, I can wash and moisturize my own face, arms and hands. My regular skin care specialist is a dream. She exfoliates, extracts and massages AND even applies light make up. For the price, I’d look elsewhere.

Thanks to the Unilocal reviews, after a few phone calls I got an afternoon/​weekday appointment without too much notice for a facial.
I took my sweetie here for his birthday when we were in Half Moon Bay for the day. Yes, I got my man a facial, and it was totally selfish of me! His skin looked so good afterward! (Don’t tell him I told you this, BTW!!) Blackheads gross me out and she cleaned those pores right out! He even fell asleep while he was on the table after they chatted for a while, so I take comfort in this being a relaxing and not too harsh procedure.
While I hung out in the waiting area, reading and napping a little, Chrysann’s assistant, who does the bookkeeping and is also a make-​up artist, showed me some of the nice mineral make-​up and mineral sunscreen that’s very good for sensitive skin. Since I was already shelling out the bucks for the facial, I had to pass that up, but I do like the lines that they carry. I like the focus on natural skin care.
They also do make-​up demos and events.
I’ll definitely head to Abundance again for a nice day-​trip treat. Housed in a residential area, it’s quiet, cozy, and comfortable. I like their style!

I love going to Abundance; its a soothing experience for both body and soul. Chrysanne is a generous, calming and caring person who is very knowledgable about skincare. My face looks the best it has in years and I always look forward to my appointments for an hour of complete relaxation.

During my first facial, she noticed that I had a lot of irritation. She asked quite a few questions and then announced I was most likely allergic to laundry softener. I changed all of my products to perfume & dye free that week. Wouldn’t you know it, everything cleared up completely within a few days!
I have been back numerous times. She has helped me to see that the time and effort I spend today will last throughout my years. I now use her entire product line and I am proud to look in the mirror. My skin feels so healthy, clean, and radiant. The mineral makeup is amazing.

Abundance is owned and run by Chrysann and she is amazing — it is really that simple. She takes a lot of pride in her work, and is all about the customer and fabulous skin. She is not pushy with sales of product or services, and really is consultative about what is best for your skin. Her knowledge of skin AND total body health is what amazes me about her. She doesn’t limit your skin program to just facials and peels, but talks about nutrition, acupuncture, stress management — proof that she really cares about her clients and results — not just getting them in and out.
Her rates are really reasonable, especially given what a great job she does. Furthermore, if anything happens such as a reaction or you have questions after your services, she always makes time to talk or take a look at your skin.
Chrysann is the most prompt and organized aesthetician I have been to who runs their own business. She is not late, does not flake, is flexible and always ready. You just can’t find all these great things at a owner operated establishment on the peninsula — I have tried and Chrysann hands down is the best at it.
She has other great things available in the salon/​studio such as TRUE makeup which is a great product. I have attended her makeup sessions and they are fun, entertaining and educational.
