Ujuva Spa & Salon

Ujuva is my «go to» spot on the coast for either a facial or a massage. Jennifer owns the spa and is always very responsive and takes really good care of my skin. After my first visit, Jennifer gave me her cell and I text her for my appointment times. Super convienant.

Ujuva is a little gem on the Coastside! Tucked away in a strip mall in El Granada, it’s an oasis inside with tasteful décor and a soothing ambiance. Not to mention that the treatments are wonderful and very professional. Jennifer and her team are very responsive to their clients’ needs and treatments are very affordable.

I went here when it first opened and found it to be a lovely spa and easily spent alot of $$ there and it was worth it… then I got the worst pedicure of my life. The girl was totally rushed needed to pick up her child and could not get rid of me fast enough… next time I went in told Jennifer what happened and she really did not seem to care. Then I ran out of the skin care products I got from them stopped by and they were closed. Went back a few time and finally someone was there. Have to pay for the products up front and they are «drop shipped» for freshness… whatever. The spa now has no life in it, no warmth. All the employees are gone except for Jen took my business elsewhere in the area for massage, facials, brows & waxing. Sorry really felt it had potential.

There is no one better on the coast for eyebrow shaping and waxing. I’ve been to a couple places in town before finding Jennifer at Ujuva. Not only does she do an excellent job in shaping, she has a pleasant touch for the mechanics of waxing.
Jennifer’s demeanor is perfect for the spa atmosphere. She is always pleasant and friendly, but not overly chatty or perky. Even when I run in for a quick wax, I get a lovely dose of serenity.
Prices for massage, waxing, facials are the most reasonable on the coast.

Boooooo, I called for an appointment and was so happy that they could squeeze me in for a massage, same day. Too bad I got a phone call two hours before my appt to say that they were no longer available. This was totally fine, cause the masseuse had an emergency. But how come the person who contacted me didn’t do anything to ensure I would get a massage there? I mean, it would have been the first time I’d go there, she could have offered me something to make sure I would try it out. This place is down the street from my house, I would be a regular customer if it wasn’t for this incident. She didn’t seem to care that I wasn’t rescheduling. Whatever happened to customer service???

I have been here several times since they opened. I was SO happy to have someplace close to where I live as I was going to Burlingame for facials. And driving over 92 on the weekends — ugh.
My facials have all been great. Even when I went in asking for something different (i.e. harsh scrub facial — burn skin off — get rid of the zits now!) I was convinced to go with a different facial and my skin was glowing afterwards! My skin always looks amazing when I leave.
I have also gotten eyebrow and bikini line waxing — both done very well. I love my eye brow shaping when I leave here!
I keep wanting to go back for a massage… perhaps my husband will read this review…
