I just wanted to say that these guys are great. Fast, friendly, affordable, high quality, and most of all HONEST. I’ve been a few times with my aged car, and after doing my own «self diagnosis» through googling, they consistently repair the problem for a lot less than I expected because they know what they’re doing (read: if I ask for a new alternator and only actually need a belt, then they just replace the belt and test the alternator just to be sure)
They’re the only place I call now, and wouldn’t hesitate recommending them to anyone.

I’m not sure how or why someone else is claiming these guys are anything but straightforward. They talked me OUT of a repair when I talked to them and told me how I can fix it myself for free.

The owner, George is such a great guy. I drive an old clunker, and he is always willing to help me fix it within whatever price range I can afford at the time. While he’s professional and not pushy, he’s also a super friendly local who will talk about restaurants and upcoming events with you while you wait for your car.
There’s a lot of great deals here, from the buy 4 get one free oil change to the Midas credit card, and various warranties. This is definitely the mechanic to visit in the pioneer valley!

My wife’s SUV was making a rattling sound so she just stopped in on her way to work last week. George (owner) got her right into a bay to take a look. Turned out to only be a heat shield, but instead of melting a credit card for «labor» George smiled and said «have a wonderful day» and sent her on her way.
I would recommend this Midas location solely based on the fact that they had the opportunity to take advantage of someone, but did the right thing and fixed something that took 30sec. to find and fix. More business need to be run like this.
Midas Hadley might have a national name attached to it (smart guy for buying a franchise) but it’s local employees that own and work there. Thank you George!

I came into Amherst to visit my niece at school only to have my car break down. I called the Midas shop on Russell Street and talk to the manager George. He was very helpful and professional. He helped me get back on the road at a minimal cost so I could get my car home safely where my husband is a mechanic and works on our vehicles. My husband told me I was lucky to run into someone as honest as George because there was an inexpensive fix that George had his mechanic Nate do until I got home where my husband could fix it. If I ever go out that way again and have car problems I will go see George and his crew at Midas.
