Frank Richter Moving & Storage

We recently used Frank Richter Moving to move apartments within Hoboken (from a high rise with an elevator to a basement/​ground level duplex). I obtained estimates from 3 different companies, and George at Frank Richter seemed to be the most reasonable and realistic based on our needs. I actually originally booked with another company, but ended up switching to Frank Richter — and I’m so glad I did. (Sidenote: when I canceled with the other company, the owner literally scoffed at me, which reinforced my decision to switch.)
We were booked for 3 men, for an estimated 3 hours. Everything on the written estimate was clear. They do request a deposit at booking, which is applied to the total cost.
On moving day, they were almost 2 hours late — however, I did appreciate that they called to let us know they were running late, and reassured us that they would definitely show up. When the team arrived, they had an extra man with them, but reassured us that pricing-​wise, they would do everything to make sure the final cost was in line with the estimate that I had received from George. The entire move took less than 3 hours and I can honestly say it was the best money I spent during the moving process.
A close friend of mine used Frank Richter Moving the week before and had a similarly good experience, so I feel confident in highly recommending this company if you’re looking for cost-​effective, reliable movers!

This is my second time using this company for my move and I would use them again! First of all, George is the best. His calm demeanor makes this stressful process a little easier. For both moves, the men were efficient, friendly, and hard working. I felt at ease that they would get the job done in the 3 hours allotted time. My last move into NYC was completely stressful but they problem-​solved the tight spaces and made it work. I couldn’t have been more pleased with this company.

I used Richter moving to move furniture for a 2br apartment from a storage facility to my new apartment. It took a 3 man crew. The price range quote on the phone was in line with the final bill. Base pricing was also fair.
The crew was friendly and very careful with all the furniture. Nothing was damaged in the move. They also worked very efficiently and did not try to prolong the move to ring up the bill.
I would recommend Richter and would use their services again.

We had a fantastic experience with this company! Not only were the guys right on time, incredibly fast, but they were also friendly and professional. We moved locally and we were shocked how quickly the job was completed! They are very organized and we felt totally at ease throughout the whole process. We plan to use them again for our next move in February for our permanent relocation! We highly recommend them to anyone in the area looking for great movers who make moving stress-​free and easy!

Should NOT have taken 5 hours to move SO close (same development different building) with 3 guys. Probably should have taken more like 3 hours. I walked away for 15 minutes a few different times to get keys/​etc and virtually nothing was done while I was gone. Ridiculously overpriced to move so close, over $ 700 for 1 small apartment! VERY nice owner though!!!
