History

Established in 1984.

Octagon Salon & Spa began as Octagon Hair in a 2400 square foot space with 12 stylists who were hungry to express the love of their craft and grow their business relationships in a clean, healthy, professional environment. Over the years, Octagon has physically doubled in size with a new capacity for 52 stylists as well as a full service nail and makeup department, complete spa with massage, body treatments and skin care, and a well appointed beauty and grooming store.

Octagon has been featured on Style Network“s «Split Ends» reality show and in numerous hair and beauty publications. They most recently provided hair and make-up services for an educational film that will be released to schools nationwide to teach how to respond to shooting threats. Stepping up for Cancer cut-a thons, Locks of Love, the homeless and unemployed, Octagon gives back to their community. There is something very special about the bond that exists between the people who work there and the guests they serve

Meet the Business Owner

Janelle N.

Business Owner

At age 19, stylist Santo Nudo gave me my first shag cut, taught me the secrets to using a blow dryer, styling iron and gentler shampoos, and literally changed my life. For once my hair looked great. I knew from that experience that I wanted to help others feel the transformative power of a good haircut and the freedom and confidence that comes with it. I trained at Weeden’s Barber College in Chicago, then Connie Pagano’s Barbary Coast Salon, Vidal Sassoon’s in London, Sam Brocato’s Lockworks in Baton Rouge, and I continue to learn from many other gifted teachers and coaches. Standing «behind the chair» for over 20 years, I have enjoyed strong relationships with people from all walks of life. Now, my role has evolved to coaching and mentoring our staff as they grow their skills to better serve our guests. It is their season to open up the kind of experience for our guests that I had as a customer so many years ago. It is a most wonderful journey
