Really enjoyed staying here. I think there has been a lot of remodeling done here recently. We stayed in a quiet suite in the back which was clean, spacious and very quiet. It was so quiet, we were able to open the windows at night and enjoyed fresh air and woke up to the sound of birds. We saw workmen putting in new carpet in some of the other rooms and the whole place seemed well cared for and maintained. The motel is across the street from a very nice diner. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Guilford.

Bedbug alert– This is not your average hotel/motel. The front desk is not attended. We had to ring a bell multiple times, call a cell # that’s posted to the door, and try a combination of both which finally led to the manager coming over from the hotel next door where he also works. We booked here because was because it was the only hotel anywhere in the area that had vacancies. Now we know why. There are too negatives to list, but here are the top three: #1-The bed comforter was too dirty to sit on, so I pulled it down-to discover the mother of all bedbugs. Upon removing the comforter from the bed, 4 – 5 smaller bedbugs were on top of the blanket. On the sheets, there were too many dead bugs and larvae to count. Upon peaking under a ragged comforter cover, there were scores of dead beadbugs and hairs that did not appear to come from one’s head. #2-Bathroom towels were bedraggled, yellowed and didn’t look very clean. I dried my hands with toilet paper vs. the towels. #3-The bathroom sink was cracked. It and the surrounding granite type counter were supported by two non secured, vertical 2×4’s. The manager yelled at us for complaining, was unapologetic and appears to believe this is an ok state of affairs.
