Extremely dissatisfied with this diner. The breakfast I received was just terrible. My husband’s was equally terrible. His toast was like 4 giant croutons! I will never frequent this diner again.

If you’re looking for a great diner on the way to/from the beach or outlets keep driving. Disappointed in the service and thought the standard turkey club($ 11.95) was average. Don’t order the onion rings. They’re made with rye bread crumbs and my first order came out bland and blackened. The waitress profusely apologized and had the cook make a special batch, which were good, but it all seemed like a big deal.

Update from 7 months ago… changing from 3 to 2 stars. And the only reason it’s 2 instead of 1 is because for most people, it’s fine(except for the service and prices). Service is still usually poor. Recently my vegetarian daughter ordered a cob salad with no bacon. When she got ¾ths of the way through the bowl, there was bacon. It appeared that the kitchen had made a salad, routinely tossed bacon in it, realized their mistake, and instead of re-making the salad pulled out the visible bacon on top. In this case the waiter was apologetic and the salad was free, although I think the whole meal should have been free. I would not make a big deal of this personally, but people like my daughter are vegetarians for a reason. And the place does have a huge sign out front that says«VEGETARIANENVLAVE». Apparently only if it’s convenient for them. And now I no longer trust their diligence on the gluten-free front. They could have accidently tossed croutons in the salad and then picked them out, leaving crumbs. We’re not ever going back. Routinely poor service, and apparently casual and spotty adherence to two of the major things they advertise… vegetarian and gluten-free options. As I’ve said before, if you just want basic diner food, it’s fine if you’re willing to wait a long time and pay a lot.

If you order a Greek salad for delivery(or any salad) SPECIFY to have dressing on the side. I would have thought it was common sense, but obviously it is not. Now my whole salad is going into the garbage. Upon cutting it open the steak was over cooked too. I’m so disappointed. I guess I’m off to the Vietnamese place to get another dinner. This one, which cost $ 20 because I added steak, is going in the garbage. They offered me a new salad, but this was beyond bad, so I asked them to put the money towards someone else’s dinner.

I really appreciate the vegan options. I felt like the prices were a bit high for the diner atmosphere, but the food is great.

We eat here every so often for lunch, as we did yesterday. I would of left if we weren’t so hungry & crunched for time. I swear the menu has shrunk(fine by me,) & the prices went way up! No way these were this high last time –I would of remembered not to return. Not wanting to spend $ 18 on a basic lunch at a diner, we opted for grilled cheese w/bacon — nice tasting decent quality for $ 6.50 — w/just a pickle fries are ax extra $ 5.00. I assumed you’d at least get a few chips.

A vegetable omlete thrown on plate after first one was burned and missing cheese in this one there was hardly any egg Onlete was cheese and vegetables Hostess rude argumentative and then owner cane out and he looked like he rolled out of bed disheveled and also argumentative and stated this plate was superb

Overpriced and has gone downhill! I used to love going to this place, but I have not gone in a while. Went here the other day and got a buffalo chicken wrap. The whole menu was very pricey and the wrap was just not as good as I remember. The place was not crowded and it took forever to get a water refill. It still has potential, but it just is not being run the right way. Maybe I will try again in a year…

Way overpriced menu. I’d be okay with the inflated prices if the service reflected that. It’s got a bit of a pretentious, hipster-y vibe to it that I’m not a huge fan of when it comes to the food industry so if that’s your thing this is the right diner for you. I can’t justify $ 12 for a tiny wrap when it takes 30 minutes to come out from the kitchen. I got the Cobb Wrap with fries. The wrap itself was decent, a little bit too strong on the bleu cheese which overpowered it but not a bad wrap. My boyfriend and I were both commenting on the large amount of staff they had on duty that were literally just standing around. There were seriously about 10 – 15 staff working the FOH alone. It seems to cause a lot of miscommunication between everyone. We had a waitress come introduce herself and ask what we’d like to drink about 10 minutes after we ordered our drinks in the first place. I don’t think we will be returning. I’m sure this is a lovely spot for a specific clientele but my boyfriend and I could not wait to leave.

Best. French toast. I have ever had. This diner was discovered by my friends and I last summer during a road trip, on our way back to NYC from Rhode Island, and it was truly serendipitous. We just so happened to exit the highway because we were hungry, and happened upon Shoreline Diner & Vegetarian Enclave, which was coincidentally perfect since one of my friends is vegan. Everyone enjoyed their food immensely. I got the banana nutella french toast, which I feel is hard to mess up, but this went beyond my expectations. We are seriously planning on making the 1 ½ hr + drive back up there from NYC just to eat there again.

Let me start off by mentioning the menu is like an encyclopedia! A massive breakfast menu(available all day) followed by a copious variety of foods, including a great Greek section will require a substantial period of time just to read through. You really cannot go wrong here though, just about everything is delicious and homemade. They also offer delivery which is miraculously fast and friendly. This is a great go-to for a late night craving or a relaxing Sunday morning brunch. You cannot go wrong here, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy!

I used to be such a huge fan of Shoreline Diner, but they got rid of my favorite dish! Being a vegetarian, I love their list of veggie friendly options(unfortunately, what used to be an entire page of the menu has now been whittled down to a small section on the menu and is very soy heavy). I used to drive hours out of the way to get their garbanzowich and they got rid of it! :(I’ve never been more upset. Forced to try something new today, I ordered the vegan chili and a small Greek salad. The chili was great, but the salad was very lack luster and extremely heavy on the onions. I do love this spot and the service was great, I’m just a bit disappointed with the changes and will need some time to get used to it I suppose.

While we didn’t dine in, I still had to write a review as the burger was delicious. You can definitely tell that they use Pat Lafreida’s blend as it tasted amazing, even when I got it to go. I’d like to come back to try some of the other items on the menu…

In town for a family function and decided to have breakfast at the Shoreline Diner and Vegetarian Enclave. The name made us wonder if all they served were vegetarian meals, but no. The menu is large but includes many vegetarian and vegan options if you are so inclined. The food was good, not great, but fine for breakfast. Portions are very large. Our server was prompt and attentive. Finally, the décor is «charming diner.» It seems very clean. Our silverware gleamed without spots or watermarks and the coffee cups were not stained as is often the case in diners. We will return.

I’ve been going here at least once per month for years. The menu was changed a few months ago, now the place is comparatively empty and the food is mediocre. Update: I went for breakfast, while I wasn’t blown away, I have come to the realization that while it can never go back to the way it was 2 years ago with each dish better and more expressive than the one before, it’s still ok. Oh I pine for the old days… My favorite salad is off the menu again, bummer. It was the vegan salad plate thing(?). humus, eggplant, tomato/cucumber salad with pita. So sad. Some other diner from New haven owns it now and they streamlined the menu from 6 pages to one large double-sided page…

Some vegan options, but kind of pricey. After coming here from time to time over the years, I’ve decided that given the quality of the food, the prices are just too high. While the staff is friendly and helpful, the cost to dine here makes me less likely to come here more for more than just special occasions. They advertise as a «vegetarian enclave,» but it’s more of a novelty diner with some(not a lot of) vegan options. There are a few vegan entrees and appetizers, but I’d like to see more vegan breakfast options. After all, aren’t diners known for breakfast? My go-to dish is the Tempeh Rueben. It really is quite good. I’d recommend getting it with the sweet potato fries though, as the other fries haven’t been as good in my experiences. The latest letdown is the change in desserts. As of September 2014, they only have one vegan option. It is an underwhelming chocolate and raspberry cake. While the frosting was good, the cake was awfully dense. When I put my fork into the cake, the pieces slid right off the raspberry filling. Let’s go back to prices. A small grapefruit juice is $ 4. Four bucks? Ouch. Entrees are generally 10 to 15 dollars, which is steep given the quality. While the food can be quite good, it’s hit-and-miss. Many of the vegan options are plain, lacking flavor and pizazz. I’d like to see some more delightfully daring dishes from a «vegetarian enclave.» There’s also a false impression that eating here is somehow a healthy alternative. Yes, there are vegetarian options, but the vast majority of the food is typical diner stuff. You know, often fried and somewhat greasy. They don’t even offer organic ketchup, so you’re stuck with the high fructose-laced Heinz bottle. In summary, Shoreline Diner is a decent enough place, but I’ve come to admit that the prices are just a bit too high. They play up the vegetarian theme, but many of the options are lacking creativity. Dine here to check the place out, but it’s not the type of diner that feels inviting enough(price-wise) to come to regularly.
