Otherwise, we are experienced and trained to handle your case without the delays created by the court system. We handle a variety of family law cases (simple and complex), including divorce, mediation, non-​contested divorce, division of property, prenups, child custody/​support, spousal support/​alimony, custody of children born outside of marriage, paternity, grandparents’ rights, adoptions and domestic abuse. Further, we provide estate planning. We will prepare your Will, Power of Attorney, Living Will, and probate successions.

History

Established in 1980.

Roy Bowes is the son of Judge Fred S. Bowes, who expired in 1999. Judge Bowes was a District Court Judge for the Parish of Jefferson and was, thereafter, elevated to the State of Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Roy Bowes wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps to render justice and serve the community via the practice of law and mediation. The firm of Roy M. Bowes & Associaties has rendered legal services to the metropolitan area of New Orleans and the Northshore for over 35 years. The mission of the firm is to be a vessel of healing and hope to the clients the firm has the privilege to serve.

Business Owner

Roy M. Bowes is a graduate of Holy Cross High School. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of New Orleans and graduated from Loyola Law School in 1979. He served as a Judicial Clerk for 1 ½ years. For over 35 years, he has had a private civil practice, with a concentration in the area of family law. He owns and operates the law firm of Roy M. Bowes & Associates which includes other attorneys, an account manager, and a support staff of legal assistants. Mr. Bowes is trained in the collaborative divorce model, a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and a charter member of the Collaborative Professionals Group of Southeast Louisiana. He is a registered, qualified, and court appointed mediator. In addition to other legal and non-​profit organizations, he is a member and past president of the New Orleans Chapter of the Christian Legal Society.
