Wonderful place for a small bite or a great espresso drink. Best in Gresham. The service is great, free wifi, authentic espresso, and wonderful local ownership. Check it out and support local!

I ordered a decaf mocha and it was really good! Smooth and rich and served in a nice big mug. The ladies behind the counter were super nice too.

I’d like to get one thing straight, folks. Based on my extensive culinary experience, Silk is the best coffee shop in the world. Much better service than any other establishment (especially Sizzle Pie: see other review), and much better coffee too. Consider yourself blessed to even know that this coffee shop exists. Silk is my rock. Silk is my fire. Silk is the air that I breath, the water that I drink and the shelter that keeps me warm. I would not be alive today if it weren’t for this place. Please pay the wonderful baristas a visit and plentiful tips. Each barista has a powerful story that they would like to share. Be a part of their dreams. One barista in particular is raising money for a missions trip to Tanzania this summer, and she desperately needs your help and support. Hurry before it’s too late! I drove past this shop so many times, never realizing what I was missing! Being right next to a Liquor store and its windows kinda hidden from the street view, it took a search for coffee on Unilocal to introduce me to this gem! They had me at «stumptown» and «gluten-​free» so I just had to check it out and was so pleased that I’ve been coming in frequently throughout the last year or so!
First of all, I have to admit one of my favorite things about this shop is that it is simply adorable… yes, I’m gonna go all girly and say I love it’s cute, crafty, and chic atmosphere! Plus, they always have fresh cut flowers throughout the shop which is a pleasant touch!
Secondly, the items they serve are quality! The coffee is delicious, wether I’m getting a drip or a latte, I’ve never been disappointed… and the fact they don’t charge extra for alternative milks makes me like them all the more! They offer a variety of breakfast sandwiches and even have multiple gluten-​free items to choose from. Definitely friendly for those with diet restrictions!
I’m thankful to have a place as cute as this to pick up a warm drink on my way to school in the morning! I’ll definitely keep coming back! :)

Lovely café with a wonderful atmosphere, with great tasting coffee for a lesser price! That is, compared to other great-​tasting café’s, of course. I recommend this place, and I know you’ll love the customer service here!

The bathroom could be improved a bit — that lost a star for me — this is too nice a place for accessing the bathroom to require a key attached to a clipboard. And the bathroom just… doesn’t look as lovely as the rest of the beautiful place!

I absolutely adore this place! Their coffee & pastries are delicious. Usually I’m skeptical about trying Carmel lattes anywhere but Silk’s is delicious.

Love the Carmel Crème latte; with they had a size bigger than a 20oz. Staff is very nice and quick.

A great little coffee & tea place. They make your iced tea fresh from your choice of teas and they were very good teas. Also have a HUGE selection of gluten free treats, which is always a plus for us!

Don’t be fooled by the location. A great place to grab some wonderful coffee and a snack. They have pastries, sandwiches and plenty of other goodies. It is a relaxing environment with great artwork on the wall to stare at blankly as you take a break from typing away on your laptop for work or school. Plenty of outlets and room to get some work done. And the staff here are always very friendly and greet you with a smile.

Serves Stumptown coffee, which is a plus. First real coffeeshop on this side of town going west toward Portland. Service is friendly and sufficient, but not always overly accommodating. Still, will come again.

Found this little gem recently and really like it. I’m a tea drinker and I love their tea they sell! And as a bonus they do offer some sweet treats that are gluten free. I enjoy siting and having some quiet time while I drink my tea and eat a treat to start off the morning.

Such lovely things here! Lovely coffee, lovely people and lovely décor!!! For those of you that remember Java Bay of old this is like it only in a sense that people can gather and enjoy coffee and chatting. Gone is the dirty comic papered bathroom and the hit or miss cups of coffee… These gals are consistent and truly know how to give great service. It’s been a while since I’ve really enjoyed everything about a coffee shop.

This coffee shop is a regular stop for the students at the nearby community college for coffee and snacks. I’ve started stopping in when I’m nearby for lunch. Not only do they have a full coffee bar, but the lunch offerings are great as well. They always have several soups, sandwiches, pastries, and side salads. Free wifi, comfortable seating and very friendly baristas also make that place delightful. (Oh…there’s a liquor store next store… bonus.)

Amazing service and the recommendation from the girl behind the counter was great. I went there early on a Sunday and it was nice to see plenty of options available for food.
I would make this a regular place, if I only lived closer. I will stop by again when in the area!

BUT WAIT, THERE IS HOPE.
That hope is called Silk Espresso and Pastries. Yes, they serve Stumptown coffee. Granted, it’s not done flawlessly or in any super-​impressive manner, but they have a good machine, staff is trained a bit, and if all else fails, they have Stumptown cold brew on tap (CO2, not nitro). The staff is courteous and the owner is caring, something that many coffee shops in Portland could learn from. One time, it was only my friend and I in the shop and the owner came by with a giant plate of samples and put it in front of us. Hello. Yes, thank you.
The food is pretty great — muffins, cookies, sammies (which are delicious). It’s all fairly priced. There are some GF options from Petunia’s, too. You can purchase bags of Stumptown beans along with some coffee equipment, if you so desire (the legit kind).
I can’t get over how homey Silk is. As I stated, the staff is so warm and it feels like a family. There are couches (with plenty of comfy pillows), wooden tables for 2 – 4, and bars facing the street. Come here if you want to catch up with old friends, have a chill place to work remotely, or enjoy a good book for an hour or two.

Silk is a cute enough place, but the mochas aren’t particularly stellar. We stopped by for coffee this morning. My brother had the house mocha while I tried one of their specialty mochas, the Mexican Mocha, with espresso, cinnamon and toasted cacao spiced chocolate milk with whipped cream. I love Mexican hot chocolate so I figured this was right up my alley. Unfortunately, it was a rather average mocha with just a hint of cinnamon. I added sweetener and more cinnamon to make it interesting. My brother’s mocha was also pretty bland. I bought one of their chocolate cream cheese muffins, which was sweet and tasty. The parking lot here is very crowded, so be prepared to fight for a spot.
