Farmington Square Gresham

My father-​in-​law was in Farmington. He was treated with dignity and love. These people were more like family than care givers. We were so pleased that his last months were happy with his extended family.

As I write this today, it has been nearly two months since my mother passed away in the loving care of the staff at Farmington Square. Mom lived at this facility for nearly a year. The care she received was exceptional throughout that period. In her final days, while receiving hospice care, my three siblings, and other close relatives pretty much camped out to be with Mom. That is not exceptional. Families try to be there for their loved one.
What was extraordinary was what we witnessed as the staff went about their business. The care provided for our Mom was exceptional. Their respect for our family was appreciated. But the love they showed to our Mom was just remarkable. Every day, more times than we can count, off-​duty staff members stopped by to ask if they could spend a few minutes with Mom. They would hold her hand, whisper in her ear, kiss her forehead and tell us a little story about what they enjoyed about our Mom.
We stood by our Mom’s bedside for six days. Many times every day, at the start of their shifts, at the end of their shifts, staff would stop by. People who used to work in Mom’s building, but now worked in another building would stop by. Even one person who no longer worked for FS, but had heard from another staff member that our Mom was in hospice. One staff member stayed two hours after her shift ended — just to talk with us about our Mom.
That is no accident — this steady stream of wonderful people. To us, it was a testament to the quality, caring individuals that are attracted to work for, and who are hired to staff Farmington Square. We never had any doubts about the attention and quality of care while Mom lived at Farmington Square. But in the last days of her life, we witnessed a display of genuine affection for our Mom that was unexpected and extremely comforting.

Our mom lived at Farmington Square for 10 months — the care and genuine concern that was given to her was remarkable. Mom had a stroke in October and passed 6 days later — we stayed with her ²⁴⁄₇ — and we got to observe the staff of Farmington Square first hand. Watching med aids stay and hold moms hand, kiss her forehead, staying after their shifts were over just to check on her. We thank you all so very much for making mom so comfortable and loved. Just in-​case my last review doesn’t make it on here i will tone it down a bit… first off this is the worst company i have ever work for. The administrator and RCM are two of the most nasty, and rude people i have ever met and let me not forget to add they are the most uncaring people i have ever seen running a CARE HOME. The administrator runs the company be putting fear in to the employees and threatens them on a day to day basis, by always threating that they will lose there jobs over B.S.They don’t know how to run a company and if the corporate office would stop and open there eyes they might realize it and do something about it. The food at Farmington is so nasty and the poor seniors are forst to eat it… to all the family’s that have came to look at Farmington or are thinking of it the food they let you try is specially made to impress you, its not the cramp your loved one will or are eating every day breakfast lunch and dinner. To end this with one last finel opinion, if you are thinking of moving your loved one into Farmington let me advise you to stop and rethink your desion. its not a good place… do your research on it before you make that desion and if you already have moved them in then i hope you have got a chance to read this and find another place to let your loved one spend there last years!
