History

Established in 1985.

Ed Sharp Photography has seen many changes to the photographic industry & to itself over the years. Starting as a freelance photo journalistic service in 1985 supplying local and regional publications with images to illustrate stories & as stand alone art. As a general free lance photography business Ed Sharp Photography has worn many hats & served many clients from the parents of a newborn to internet giant Google.

In 2005 the business embraced the digital age & put down their film cameras for good. Photographing sports & uploading images to the business’s web site for purchase online was a new & extremely popular way for clients to buy prints and products from their games.

In 2008 the business was receiving more& more requests for custom portrait photography and soon this became the main focus of operations.

Ed Sharp Photography has enthusiastically embraced new technology & trends, while maintaining a unique style derived from a lifetime of photographing the world.

Meet the Business Owner

Ed S.

Business Owner

Ed Sharp is a custom professional portrait photographer from Greenwich NY (12 834), with a unique style derived from a lifetime as a professional photographer & perhaps an uncanny ability to empathize with his subject. In order to properly photograph a person, one needs to first find out who the subject is and at the same time have the technical ability to create the perfect environment of light and pose that tells us the subject’s story. A 1985 graduate of The Rhode Island School of photography, Ed studied Photojournalism, Commercial and Portrait Photography and worked in both black and white and color darkrooms.

His career path has lead him through an expansive and diverse photographic world, a world in which he has photographed subjects from Presidential candidates to Grizzly bears.

Today Ed owns & operates Ed Sharp Photography, providing custom portrait photography to subjects including business head shots, children, seniors, pets, families & engagement sessions.
