Place has great food, great service and a neat atmosphere. Great Ruben sandwich, and most recently I had the black and bleu salad that was mind blowing. The vinaigrette dressing has a honey base that makes it sweet and tangy. Can’t wait to go back!

I have never had anything bad when going here. Went for brunch & it was fantastic. I had crab cake Benedict & it was delicious. Almost as good as my mom’s. I recommend for brunch

Beautiful patio area, Sunday brunch was awesome. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. I will certainly be back. The menu is not very big but they have every option for a traditional breakfast/brunch meal.

I finally came here for dinner. Their fish and chips was top notch. The batter tasted really good and it was not oily at all. The fish was moist and hot. It’s really good even without using the lemon. The size of the fillet is as large as the large plate. The fries were seasoned well but nothing to brag about. The side of Cole slaw was good too. Did I mention the fish and chips are bomb? Because they are. The downstairs is a nice more private booths with an inviting bar. We sat upstairs which is more open and a smaller bar. It was packed but we actually had the table at the corner below the skylight. Their bar is pretty good, they made really good Jack and Coke and a decent old fashioned. Nice spot to start the night out.

M’Coul’s never disappoints. Whether you sit on the landscaped patio or in a cozy booth, you’ll experience a delicious pub menu and expansive beer list. Brunch and convenient parking are bonuses.

One of our favorite spots in Greensboro. While they have paired down the menu quite a bit, there’s still enough selection for most people. The drinks and beer selection are typically good, too. I have noticed over the years that service tends to struggle with large parties or very busy periods. But, this is rare, so not much of a concern. Definitely worth a stop if you’re looking for quality pub food, good atmosphere, and a stiff beverage.

Very slow service for our party of 8. The fish & chips was insanely over salted. Huge piece of fish looked great, but couldn’t eat it.

I’ve had dinner and brunch here. Both were very good. For dinner I’ve had the corn beef philly which was delicious and the Ruben which I found to be decent. The regular fries are my favorite but I would skip the sweet potato chips; mine were burnt. For brunch I had the French toast with chicken tenders, bacon, and fruit. I loved the French toast and the tenders were perfectly seasoned! If you go during the colder part of the year, sitting downstairs can be a bit chilly especially if you are seated next to the door. I wish the entrance was a little more enclosed and separate from the seating.

This is a nice bar type restaurant that is tucked away in downtown Greensboro. I have walked past it probably two hundred times, but have never gone in, until someone else mentioned going. We sat down for dinner and drinks and ended up staying for a few hours. The beer I ordered was awesome, it was called the«blue velvet» a great mixture of blue moon and cider beer. The flavors fused together in an awesome way, it was a good alternative to drinking a full cider beer! I ordered the fish and chips by recommendation! It didn’t disappoint. The fish was a huge piece of either pollock or cod. Typically I like my fish in smaller pieces because when large they tend to be wet or slimy. However, they did a pretty good job cooking it. Served with slaw and fries(w/malt vinegar on the side of course). This is my kind of spot, low key with good beer, food, and a nice mixed crowd. I think the upstairs may have another bar/lounge, we noticed a lot of folks going upstairs as it got later. It was a bonus seeing an old favorite bar tender that use to work at coopers when I was a regular there about seven years ago! Ill definitely being going back!

I am BRIT! Born in Hackney and lived in England. I am tough critique when it comes to English meals. M’Couls has a decent selection on Irish/British beers– I wish they had more of a selection. The last time I went there was no magners! However, the brunch/breakfast has some decent bangers and tomatoes. The sheppards pie has actual lamb in it. The only call out i would make is it needs just lamb! No pub is like any in England, Dublin or Pearl River, NY; nonetheless, this is terrific for the area.

Food here is consistently good. I’ve been here on multiple occasions and love the Irish inspired dishes, especially the corned beef and cabbage. The outdoor seating always makes for good ambience with the casual, pub feel but elegant enough to be comfortable and not grimy. If you’re looking for a good place to meet with friends and have good conversations, this is a definitely an option. Not too loud, not too quiet =)

Place where they always know your name and treat you like family and not a customer. They have recently added some new options and we tried the fried chicken sandwich and mustard brussel sprouts. Chicken was crispy and super juicy inside. Brussel sprouts could have been cooked just a minute or so longer but the mustard glaze was on point. I always fall back on the Irish dip, there take on a French dip. It always delicious with pulled meat that is cooked perfectly. Tap choices are always plentiful with rotated taps weekly-just ask! Their mixed drinks are always something to check out especially the Big Ginger. Bartenders are also willing to experiment with whatever you are thinking. What makes the place even better… two levels a patio and a deck!

I hosted a meetup brunch. here and we had a fairly large group of people(13 or so) so we were seating upstairs in the pretty open room which was great for conversation. My food was okay. I tried something new… the crab cake benedict but I wasn’t a fan of how the eggs were prepared. That was just a personal preference thing though, otherwise the crab cakes were good. I did think that they should have given much more fruit in the side of fruit(it was one kabob of about 5 pieces of fruit). I also thought the crab cakes were just okay… Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food though. Oh and the mimosas were good. The service was decent… She was somewhat responsive and our food came out in a timely fashion but she never refilled our waters and at the end when the bills were paid she just stacked all the receipts on the table instead of handing them to us individually which required us to sort through the stack. I just thought she could have taken the extra time to give them back to us individually, as thats how we handed them to her. I would probably go back but try something different on the menu…

Beautiful patio, fast service, and the best cole slaw I’ve had in years. Almost as good as Grandma’s. The service was super fast, drinks were perfect, and the food is delicious. I had the fish and chips… crunchy, juicy awesomeness and the seafood dip was amazing! All for a great price. This will definitely be a regular spot for me. I can’t wait to try the brunch.

Really enjoy the patio downstairs. Brunch menu is fun on the weekends. Today I’ll try either pancakes or French toast. Shrimp and grits is delicious but today I’m in the mood for something sweet. Friendly waitstaff makes it a pleasant experience. We come often most for the shady patio!

My taste buds have been begging me to stop eating crappy food on this business trip since my arrival. So, I decided to drive the 30 minutes into Greensboro last night based on some encouragement from some locals. I drove around a bit without much purpose. I found a parking spot near some restaurants and bars in downtown Greensboro and walked around a bit while making a final decision on dinner. I was really happy to stumble upon a beautiful patio on a corner and decided to ask the hostess to guide me to the bar. Inside the beautifully decorated bar, only a few patrons were having dinner as nearly everyone was enjoying the outdoor space. The friendly staff quickly made me feel at home and bombarded me with a number of options for drink and food. The bartenders were knowledgable and efficient. The beer list focuses on European imports of every kind but there are a few local options from nearby Winston-Salem. The food is thoughtfully prepared and Irish inspired though there are plenty of options from hummus to burgers. But the best dishes coming out of the kitchen are the Irish pub options such as the fish and chips and the corned beef«steak sandwich»(it was pretty amazing). I opted to forgo the fries(taste buds had just about had it with the earlier lunch crap fries from one of the chains) and went with a taboule salad that was as good as one from a good Lebanese restaurant. The only disappointment(I should have known) was my after-dinner cup of coffee(it was as week as the hospital’s) The bar is comfortable and inviting. The staff is fantastic. I would try the entire menu if I could. M’coul’s made my Saturday night away from home a little better.

I must say that I was very delighted with brunch on Sunday. I love that you get the poached eggs with hollandaise sauce and two sides. The hash brown potatoes are perfectly seasoned and the bacon was nicely crunchy and flavorful! I wish that my yoke was more runny but I didn’t complain because the flavor of it all was delicious. I had some of the Irish beers on tap and those were great too. I give this place a thumbs up!

There’s not potato famine here! We started with tater tots with bacon(held the cheddar for my son). Outstanding-not greasy-and the bacon, although chopped, tasted like slab from Peter Luger’s in New York! Great start! I had an amazing seasonal flight of beers! I had the boxtie with corned beef hash, cabbage and egg-plus a banger on the side-they originally didn’t make it as a boxtie but fixed it and oh man-that was AMAZING-great banger, amazing cabbage with the mustard, and an explosion of flavor! Son had the burger cooked exactly as he likes it. Wife had the shepherd’s pie and it was outstanding! Mom loved her salad and her boyfriend loved the Guinness meat loaf. I would get any of those items next time around. Finished with the bread pudding-win all around. Service was outstanding from start to finish. I will make this a regular stop in our food rotation!

M’couls is a jewel of a pub, located on South Elm in downtown Greensboro. It is across the street from Natty Greene’s and Grey’s, and within walking distance to a variety of food and recreation on the S Elm strip of downtown. The interior has a perfect Irish pub feel. Both the downstairs and upstairs have a nice atmosphere, and the staff does a good job covering both effectively. The space offers a main level bar and upstairs bar, as well as outdoor seating at both levels. If you’re interested in a basketball/football game, they typically have a game on the upstairs TVs(though there are only a couple by the bar). The waitstaff and bartenders are laid-back, knowledgeable, sociable and offer solid service. If you have menu questions or need a drink suggestion they are typically right-on with their recommendations. Their drink offerings do not leave much to be desired. The draught selection is very unique and includes several English and Irish choices(the waitstaff can assist, if you have taste/type questions). My «go-to» for food is the Irish Dip(see photos). This meal is comfort food as its finest! For what it is(Irish pub food) the Irish Dip is a 10⁄10. Most of the food is savory and well-prepared. Great food, good atmosphere, friendly service. This is a must try that is sure to become a favorite!
