Discount Tire Store – Grapevine, TX

First time ever at discount tire at Grapevine Mills. Love it! Jon Ferlet the store manager helped me, and didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need. Took the time to explain everything about the tires and let me make a decision. Couldn’t be happier. Definitely will tell everyone.

Took my wife’s car in for tire rotation this morning. I was the first customer, arriving just before they opened. It was a cold morning, and it was early. But all of the guys were energetic and in a good mood. Shane helped me, and he was great — he was friendly, took his time, and provided some good advice. And I was just there for a free rotation. Highly recommend this location.

On December 12 we take the «wife’s» 1987 Blazer and throw a set of new Cooper Discovery 35/12.5R15 on it. (Yup the Blazer is a beast) looks good and good price!
At the same time I get all 4 TPMS replaced on the new Fuel Rims with Nitto Tires that I bought here in the Spring. Now for the bad news, 24 hours later driving in narrow bad section of 114 a loud hiss is heard and immediately the right goes flat at 60mph. I got it stopped and moved back to the only 40 ft of area I was not on the lane rush hour traffic. I find that the valve stem is gone less than a happy camper at this time. I change the tire, survived the texters racing by and get back on the road back to Discount Tire to see Mr Brandon. Yes I was a little frustrated but Brandon immediately took over the damaged Fuel Rim, the cut tire and now broken TPMS Is being replaced and took the other 3 tires off to recheck and balance again. This was very unfortunate that the original stem was not properly installed the tires were also off balance but hats off to Brandon and his management I never asked for anything as they took immediate action and we’re open and honest the prior tech failed to install stem and also dos not balance them properly. I will be back in the future to buy tires (may watch the installer closer though).

Always fast, friendly service at a reasonable price. This location has the bonus of being able to walk to the Grapevine Mills Mall while you wait!

Have been coming to this location for years. All of the staff are top of line. Extremely knowledgable and they operate with the utmost integrity. Great place!

Took care of me on 2÷25÷15 replaced some 3 ½ yr old Falkens that did not get close to 50k miles — gave me store credit — in and out

Discount tire has some great customer service policies like free flat patching and staying late (I’m here 45 minutes after closing, because I hit traffic and got here 15 minutes before closing with a full shop).
Staff is friendly and happy to help with decisions. I’ve bought tires from Discount Tire for many years and usually very pleased, and this location hasn’t disappointed.

In all industries’ products sometimes fail and inventory isn’t always waiting on us, but customer service should always come with a guarantee. Not only did they treat me well, they also advised me by giving me options and suggesting what made the most sense for my situation. I had a flat tire and my spare was also flat. They checked for used tires to lower the cost, but unfortunately didn’t have what I needed. Going the extra mile, they checked my spare and determined that it could be repaired. In the end, I drove away with a repaired tire having paid nothing for their service. Of course, I still have a flat spare, which I am gladly replacing with them.

I have been taking both of my vehicles here to this location for the last 10 years. The first eight and a half were great with speedy and excellent customer service. The last three times I have been I have been disappointed. First of the last three was for a rotation. Still had plenty of tread left on my tires but had to basically argue with the guy working the counter about wanting to keep them, on top of that it took an hour and a half for the rotation. The next time I came in in our other vehicle And I wanted to replace two tires only. Once again I was given a hard sell on getting four. This time it took over two hours to get the two new tires on. After I left I discovered that my TPS was not reset and tires are indicating wrong air pressure for tire. When I came in this week with a flat once again I was given a hard sell on tire replacement when I still have plenty of tread left. When I refuse to purchase new tires it seems they just put me at the back of the line. Over two hours of waiting for one flat to get fixed. Not sure if management changed at this location or what but that is 3 strikes and I am done. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. Do yourself a favor and look for a different Discount Tire location or a different business all together to get your tires and tire maintenance done.

Last December, I took my 2009 Cayenne to Discount Tire Grapevine Mills for a new set of tires. Although the tires are all the same size, the offsets and wheels are different on the front versus the back. Whoever installed my tires did not know this and installed them incorrectly. As a result, the driver side front wheel sustained ~$ 4,000 in damage. The brake caliper and rotor had to be completely replaced and the wheel reconditioned. All told, my car was out of commission for a month as we worked through the insurance claim and waiting for parts. Although Discount Tire’s insurance paid for the claim, this was a huge inconvenience in time for us. Although we own 5 cars (20 tires) and have been purchasing from this location for a number of years, the management was silent on this. In this competitive marketplace, one would think that the minimum that the management of Discount Tire would have done would have been to apologize for the inconvenience and offer us a «discount» for the purchase of future tires. This experience has taught us that this location does not care or understand about the life-​time value that a customer representing 20 tires represents… they are also overlooking the hundreds of tires represented by our friends who will know to avoid this location.

I noticed my left rear tire had a nail in this morning. I searched for the Discount Tire store near my office which was the one in Grapevine. I went online and made an appointment for 8:15 AM. This was at 5:30 AM!!! I did a few things at the office thinking I had an appointment. When I arrived at the store at 8:10 AM, there was a line of about 6 people. I told the counterman I had an appointment at 8:15 AM. he told me to get in line as there are several people here with appointments at 8:15. I said, Then, appointments don’t mean much do they? He gave me some lame excuse and to take a place in line. I took my place in line at NTB down the street and where I did not have to wait to be get my service.
Discount Tire needs to rethink their BS appointment strategy. IT DON“T WORK!!!

I came in for a flat tire, and chose discount because they were close to my office and competitive in price. Two days later my new tire was flat. I came in first thing, and was greeted my their staff that remembered me by name. The rushed my car right in, and we quickly discovered it wasn’t the tire it was a cracked wheel. They gave me options, were honest about what would not only be cost efficient, but time efficient. They even put a couple options on my car so I can see how it would look as a finished product. About an hour later I am driving out to get back to work. Couldn’t have appreciated their honesty and great customer service.

I confess; I’m terrible when it comes to vehicle maintenance. I’ll let my tires run bald before I’ll replace them. That’s why when inspection time came around, I knew I had to get a new set of tires.
When I asked my friends where they go for cheap tires, they all unanimously voted «Discount Tire». I called the competitors, and Discount Tire lured me in with cheapest tire I could get for my truck. Yes, I did spring for a set of 4 cheap new tires… but they were private label Yokohama tires that should get me another 40 to 50k miles. And even better, they were offering a $ 100 mail-​in rebate at the time of my purchase.
This particular location has 4 bays, a spacious open showroom with lots of seating, and a good inventory of tires and wheels to choose from. As expected on a Saturday morning, all counters were were staffed and busy, but they still promised to get my truck done within the hour.
FYI the price they quoted me over the phone was cheaper than in-​store. When questioned about it, they tacked on an extra $ 14.50 per tire as part of their replacement tire program. I took it of course since I found it to be a great value, but it would have been nice if they had explained that option over the phone. I also recommend the online option since you get to see how much taxes and fees add to the sum total.
I’d definitely be back for the friendly, fast service and cheap tires.

I’m not a huge fan of big chains usually but my whole family has been using Discount Tire since I was a kid — so I go where my dad tells me. They’ve always been great to me. .. . got a flat once on a road trip to California and when I rolled in to a store to get my tire fixed, the guy told me I needed new tires; being a poor college student on a road trip (yes Dad — I know I shouldn’t have been spending cash on a road trip when I didn’t have cash for tires) I couldn’t really afford it but they said they had old tires that were in better shape than my current ones and changed them for me. That was enough for me to be a lifetime fan.
This location I’ve used a ton — and they are great. Fast, efficient and yeah, they try to sell me the bigger better tires but it only takes one «I don’t want to spend any extra money» for them to back off. And check out the appointments you can make online. I got four new tires and was in and out in less than an hour after making an appt. It was great.

Just stopped in and had a nail in my tire and they fixed it for free. The people were really nice and for free is for me. Makes me want to come back next time although I know it will cost.

Just my 2 cents … You can find the same tires cheaper online and have them shipped to any shop. The real problem with this place is that they would not let you do anything without signing a waiver like specific alignment setup or put different size tires. They assume you know nothing about cars or tires and always try to upsell … at least they stopped trying to sell you «tire siping» !!! look it up :-) !!!
