Cryo-X Cryosauna

I heard about Cryo-​X from a co-​worker who swore by it so I came in last week to give it a try. I have been experiencing severe shoulder pain and am scheduled for an MRI next week — my symptoms are consistent with a torn rotator cuff. I read up on the cryo process and decided it couldn’t hurt and might help. After three treatments, here are my initial observations.
The process is quick, painless and there is virtually no discomfort. As other reviewers have mentioned, you stand (unclothed) in a tall cylinder and then they adjust the height so your head and neck are sticking out over the top. Then it gets really chilly for three minutes. One of the very personable attendants stays in the room with you to monitor the treatment (and to keep you engaged in conversation so the time passes more quickly). I had my third treatment today and, although it was pretty easy the first two times, this time I barely noticed the cold.
So what are the benefits? For me, I noticed a gradual reduction in my shoulder pain. After the first treatment, it felt a little better but I attributed that to a possible «placebo effect». After treatment #2 there was a definite improvement and today, about 4 hours after treatment #3 I am feeling a quite noticeable difference. I would say the pain has decreased by about half! If there is a tear in my rotator cuff, I don’t expect that cryo treatments will help me to avoid surgery, but they have definitely made the pain more tolerable.
I read that you could expect a great night’s sleep after cryo and I was no exception, so that’s a nice ancillary benefit. They also informed me that the body burns an extra 500+ calories after cryo so put another check in the plus column (no 6-​pack abs yet, but I’m waiting). I am going to give this process a month or more to see what the full outcome is and will update this review then but so far I am very pleased with the results.
I should also mention that my membership (I chose the month-​long version and there is no contract to sign) includes «Norma-​tec» compression treatments at no additional fee. You are fitted with either leg or arm sleeves (in my case I did both) which are then inflated to create pressure that gradually moves around to different areas of your arms/​legs. For me, it seems to simulate the benefits of a good massage (elimination of lactic acid, decrease in tension, etc.). Although you feel a bit silly sitting there looking like the Michelin man, it seems to have very beneficial results.
Finally, I’d like to comment on the facility and the staff. The place is spotless and the women who work there are unbelievably pleasant. The level of customer service and friendliness is off the charts! I felt like a welcome member of their family after just one visit. It is a locally owned business and they were the first cryo sauna in the country so, if you’re considering giving this treatment a try, I’d highly recommend you do so at Cryo-​X. Oh, and they support local charities as well, which is a huge plus in my book. My wife is chairing the Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County’s gala next year and the owner, Alicia, immediately volunteered some very generous packages for the silent auction when she found out.
Great people, great place and wonderful results. If you’re in pain, or making a New Year’s resolution, or just looking for an interesting gift to give, Cryo-​X would be a wonderful choice!

I love CryoX. I had suffered my entire life with a crazy skin condition that I have NEVER been able to get rid of. Doctors couldn’t figure out what it was or how to treat it. You can imagine all the RX creams I put on it in the last 25 – 30 years! Two years ago, when my skin condition was at the very worst it had ever been, a friend suggested that I try Cryo. Since CryoX is next door to a yoga place I frequent, I decided to try it for 30 days to see if it would help. After 2 weeks, my skin had cleared up completely. Not a single spot of it was left!!! I’ve been at CryoX ever since. My skin has never been so clear for this long in my life.
The results I’ve gotten from regular Cryo sessions is great… but what I really love about Cryo-​X is the people! Super friendly staff. Always smiling, always professional!

What an awesome experience, first time to try out cryotherapy. Been hearing about it so we looked these guys up on Unilocal.Soon as we walked in we were greeted with a sweet smile and very helpful and informative front desk employee. Place seemed clean to me… it was a cross between a massage therapy and tanning salon type atmosphere. It’s a very quick in and out process .they provide you with a towel to wrap around to cover any extremities along with gloves, socks and slippers… keep underwear on wrap towel and step into cryo chamber (looks like something from the future) and an employee steps in to operate the nitrogen and 3 minutes goes by fast… and waaaa — laaaa to are over .the energy rush after I was done was awesome felt great the rest of the day. I encourage you to read up on all the benefits of cryotherapy it was amazing and we enjoyed it. These guys were very good at making you feel comfortable your first time… happy freezing …

I have been going for around 3 months now, and this place is fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly and I look forward to freezing every day, to the extent I travel from McKinney to Grapevine just for Cryo X.

First of all, I cannot praise Cryo-​X high enough! I have been going off and on for over a year, and absolutely love the benefits I feel after freezing. When I have friends and family in town, we visit Cryo-​X to round off the Grapevine experience! Always the cherry on top. Every experience I’ve had has been excellent, and nothing less. Everything is always clean, inviting, the girls are very friendly, and I always feel welcome. It’s easy to see why they have so many top notch athletes as clients. They know their stuff, and your health is their top concern. A friend of mine has a heart murmur, and appreciate being told that she could not freeze, which is something we didn’t know. Keep up the good work girls!

If you have not tried this place out you need to!!! Every time I go into have a session I am greeted with friendly staff and a warm welcome back. My husband and I love to get a freeze after a workout and also when our bodies just need a reboot. Cyro is not only good for our bodies to recover but has also helped with the redness on the back of my arms.
I not only love coming in to get a freeze but love what this company is about. They are part of the community and love to give back to others.

So, I went to this place planning to try them out for a Cryo treatment since it is convenient for me when I work over in Grapevine seeing clients. I have been to several excellent Cryo facilities and love this procedure but this place is not for me. First of all, it is kind of junky looking inside, not very personable and kind of underwhelming. There were clothes baskets around the receptionist area filled with old and tattered looking gloves to keep your hands warm during the treatment and also a basket full of socks that I would NEVER put on. It was not at all like the other facilities in Colleyville and Southlake, very disappointing.
There were huge tanks in the hall area, it was just not what you would expect. Be forewarned and consider another Cryo facility that presents a lot nicer and is cleaner to say the least.
Finally, I learned their pricing for Cryo packages are higher than other much nicer centers in our area.

I just started here and I have only frozen twice, so its hard for me to compare to other cryo places. The staff is very friendly, the place is clean and they cut me a deal on a 5 freeze package, so I could see how I like it. So far, so good, body feels better and I know its working.

If you have any type of pain, inflammation, or injury, you should try CryoX. When I passed this business last summer, I was curious, so I went in and asked what it was. When the lovely blonde girl at the reception desk told me about the possible benefits of cryotherapy, I was skeptical. I tried it to see if I could tell if it did any good. I did not immediately feel any different, but that evening I felt like a layer of stress had been peeled away. I have fibromyalgia and have lived with chronic pain since the early 1980s. I decided to enroll in a membership at CryoX for one month and commit to regular treatments. After a week and a half, my pain and stress were substantially relieved. I continued for several months and then had to discontinue treatments for unrelated reasons. However, to this day, 7 months later, I still have less pain than when I started the treatments. This demonstrates to me that cryotherapy actually heals the body and does not merely mask symptoms. I will definitely go back for another round of treatments. I crave the relief. I might add that the staff at CryoX are so nice and positive — fun too. They make the experience a mini escape. To top it off try a coffee drink next door after your freeze.

Cryo-​X is one of the best kept secrets! I’ve been a consistent member for more than 2 years, and it’s so refreshing to do business with such a great group of folks. They really do treat you like a family member instead of a paying guest. I’ve never felt like a number or just another customer, and, in fact, have made several friends as a result of freezing at Cryo-​X. The friendly customer-​focused atmosphere is evident as soon as you walk through the door.
I freeze 4 – 6 days a week, as I’m an avid runner (mountain biker, walker and strength training too) who strongly believes in the therapeutic benefits of Cryotherapy. It really works! As a picky consumer, I choose to spend my discretionary dollars at Cryo-​X, and have never regretted that decision. Cryo-​X ROCKS, and, yes, I’m proud to say I’m a «raving fan!»

Walked in and it was extremely hot inside. There was an awful smelling candle burning that had something to do with black berrys or something of the like. Many smokers were in the building, so the mix of the cig smoke, the heat and awful candle was uncomfortable. A definite lack of circulation in the air.
The floor was very dirty. And trash magazines all over. Nothing to read about oils or how the Cryo will help your body in the long run. Felt like there was absolutely no information given.
Very nice office staff, but still a whole lot to do!

My second stop on my cryotherapy «tour.» This place is very nicely set up! They run both types of machines here and had tons of people coming in and out which is what I like to see. I’ll say it again, if you haven’t yet tried Whole Body Cryotherapy you’re missing out!

I can’t believe how great I feel after one appointment. Went once already a junkie lol.

This place is awesome and strange. People swear by it. After going once to check it out, I can’t say that it was life changing but it is definitely unique. Basically you get into a chamber with your head out of the chamber, and they kind of freeze your body for 2.5 to 3 minutes. It is a really odd feeling that I can’t really describe but it basically makes your body freak out and it is supposedly really good for you.
It is my understanding that a bunch of professional athletes use it and it seems like they use it as kind of a quick and complete body ice bath. They also say that your body even at rest will burn a ridiculous amount of calories over the 4 to 8 hours after you do it which was a nice added bonus.
Overall, I thought it was cool and will go back. I am not sure I am a regular but it is unique and seems like it might be worthwhile especially if recovering from an injury of some sort.
