I stopped in for train rolls and a scone. I agree with the other reviewers that this is a more organic approach to baking which I appreciate, but I did not find the flavor I was looking for. I am a fan of European-​style breads and scones, but these did not have the flavor I was hoping for. They were rather bland.

I’m one of those health freaks who is frustrated by the amount of additives in their food. I am tired of reading labels only to find heaps of sugar and salt and chemicals added to nearly every food item in the supermarket aisle due to which I had given up eating bread about 14 months back. And I’m a lover of all things baked: bread, cookies, cakes, deserts, snacks. So when I found BreadHaus, I felt like my prayers were answered. No, honestly!
This is starting to sound like an infomercial but believe me they didn’t pay me. I was so relieved to see that they didn’t add any sugar or eggs or dairy or preservatives in their breads. Their flour is no frankeinwheat. Its organic! So when I went in to buy a single loaf of bread, I came out with «one of everything please.»
Their deserts do have sugar in them though. Duh! But not much. Its lightly sweetened when compared to its counterparts. The sugar and eggs (I wish they didn’t) they use are organic though, which makes me a little less guilty.
Please pay cash for small purchases so that our local businesses can get more profit (instead of big credit card companies), and keep us providing wonderful services.

I LOVE THE BREADHAUS!!! The Bavarian bread is the closest u can get to a typical german style bread around here. The only place u can find it better is of course in Germany… for me 5 stars. If there would be more I would give more. Very happy that I found that place…

Love the Irish Soda Bread. It is the best. I have been trading here since the mid 90’s and have never had a bad experience. Bread is always great and so are there sweets. Would recommend to anyone. Go quickly as they sale out fast and the Soda bread is only on Saturday.

I’m not sure what the hype is… This bakery isn’t European except maybe for a smattering of German breads? But most of the stuff are typical Texan, American, and maybe German-​Texan. I do see strudels, and things laced with pecans. Nothing with cream. And I do see scones and muffins. And the standard pies (apple, cherry, etc — all mundane, typical stuff). And yes, there’s a lot of breads too — but I didn’t see any particular bread to get. Unilocal says to get the stuff like the train rolls (what is this?), muesli sticks (uh huh), Salzstangen (okay, this sounds German), Brötchen (this also sounds German) and rye loaves, rosemary, etc.
Maybe this would all be fine by me if I see myself heading all the way to Grapevine just to by a loaf. But I think they’ll do better in appeasing customers who drive longer distances by actually having food — sandwiches, and toasts. Plus, if they do expand to include bread foods, like I mentioned, I’ll at least have some ideas of what to do with these loaves. But this would mean that this place would have to start investing into tables and chairs. And maybe coffee too.
So yeah… this place isn’t there. At least not yet. 3 stars.

I. Love. Bread. But unfortunately this place didn’t meet my expectations. Looking at the reviews by my fellow Unilocalers, I thought this place would be a cute, quaint bakery with loaves of bread and different types of pastries in rows all around the place. It was the exact opposite. The place was rather bare, the shelves had maybe 3 loaves of bread, and the selection of pastries were underwhelming.
I was already there, so I decided to just get something. I went with the pecan crumb mini cake. It was okay. There were a lot of pecans, which I love. But that was the only silver lining in what was a dry lump of bread. I wanted to love this place so much more, but I can easily get better bread at any coffee house or market. I recommend saving your time and opting for a nearby Starbucks to satisfy your pastry cravings.

I went to Breadhaus specifically to get the finnish sourdough rye flatbread because with a mild gluten intolerance I can eat real sourdough bread.
I am very pleased that breadhaus makes authentic, fermented sourdough but the flavor was just kind of OK.
I also bought a mini lemon cake and it was fine, nothing spectacular, though nice and moist.

I adore this place. They have an incredible selection of breads that rival the best European bakeries. Even my German boyfriend approves! Saturday is the best day to come as they offer even more deliciousness. I especially love that everything is organic. The staff is so welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Don’t miss the train rolls, muesli sticks, Salzstangen, Brötchen and rye loaves.
I live in Dallas but this bakery is worth the drive every time.

This place is addicting! Everything I have had has been fantastic! Plenty of selection! Very reasonably priced. People are super nice.
Favs: brownies pumpkin bar, ginger/​molasses cookie.

This is a hidden gem around dfw. One of fee authentic made from scratch breads, scones and sweets. My fave are the berry cake, scones, and cherry almond bread. It has been awhile since I was here so the cherry almond tasted off. It was more yellow and dry and not same texture. Also the scones were not as good ever since I had tried the ones from Bedford bakery. Today I tried the sweet potato bar which was moist and tasty despite it tasted like pumpkin spice than sweet potatoes. I also got the gilroy garlic bread sliced. It was soft and hint of garlic. I adore the brick building exterior and roomy interior. I have tried a few cookies and brownies in the past but they were pricey, small and unforgettable. Come here for real crusty bread

We got pecan pie, macaroon, chocolate bourbon pecan pie, scones & cookies, bread. They were so delicious. The staffs were very helpful. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back

We have purchased BreadHaus breads before our recent visit. Our most recent visit produced another group of great breads. Garlic loaf and a sourdough were selected mainly due to selling out of most other options. Excellent tasting and the perfect size, I have to get by there earlier so I can try more types of bread!

Aww man! I came back to this place to get some clean eating, no preservatives, whole wheat bread but they were all sold out! The sweet lady told me they run out various times of the day, because I wanted to come back at a time where they may have it. Maybe next time!
I did get a few scones — Different flavor this time — Raspberry and blackberry… and also a hot spicy mix, looks like chex mix but I am sure more «cleaner» Loved the scones, I think even better than the cinnamon one I tried last time. Plus this time I had it warmed up. The spicy mix is good too, not too spicy at all! I hope to eventually try their bread!

Ditto on most the other reviews! Great selection of GREAT breads and a few sweets that you need more than one of! I always enjoyed the thumb print cookies but was sad to see they are so small now.
Appreciate the beverages available and cage free eggs too!
Staff is very nice, actually spoke with both owners too and they are great!

No one needs another good excuse to go to Grapevine. (Esparza’s is still open, right?) For us «down in the city folks,» Grapevine is a bit of a long haul. It is too far just for bread and pastries. However, if you find yourself up there, stop in at BreadHaus for a couple of loaves.
They’ve been around for 17 years, and they do not bake commercially for restaurants. Think about it.
The rosemary loaf is dynamite. The olive bread is very olivey.

Very good and healthy options. Their granola is very good. I also highly recommend their oatmeal raisin cookies. They have a variety of treats and pastries good to grab on the go. I always skip the donut shop and head here.

We recently came back from Europe where the bread is nothing like it is in most places here. I missed it and I kept searching for a great product. Then I was visiting Texas and I found the BreadHaus! No preservatives, fillers or additives. Pure and organic ingredients and absolutely DELICIOUS breads, rolls and pastries, very reasonably priced. Wonderfully friendly and helpful owners and staff! My only complaint is that it isn’t next door. I’ve ordered from them by mail twice since returning home to CA and I’ve been amazed at how tasty it is even after traveling to me. I only recommend when I am truly impressed. If you try this wonderful bakery, you will love it. :-)

I don’t know why it took me so long to come here. When I was fortunate enough to live near a bread bakery in my hometown, I was a junkie and never bought a bag of bread from the grocery store again. So shame on me for not assuming the bread here would be just as amazing!
Our sandwiches have been elevated by the delicious bread loaves that you can have sliced and my breakfast toast is now a thing of beauty. They also sell a variety of delicious treats, and even though they emphasize healthy foods with their organic ingredients, free range chicken eggs, and a heavier dose of fruit in place of sugar, the treats stand up to any bad-​for-​you dessert you can think of.
In fact, I tried a train roll thinking I would probably be in for a healthy tasting disappointment (it has no sugar and no fat) and it turned out to be my favorite pastry to get for breakfast. Like really, I was probably making people uncomfortable with the way I was exclaiming after each bite how it good it was.
One note — the first time I went to BreadHaus, it was about 5pm and the shelves had been basically stripped bare. We’ve discovered that you really need to get here in the morning to get the full selection, so it’s officially our Saturday morning errand.
Also, if they catch on that you are a regular and not just a tourist, they have a frequent buyer punch card. So get in on that!

Yumm Yumm Yumm… the best bread around. Run by friendly Germans, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into some sort of European carb fairy tale of greatness.
This bakery is more for bread than dainty things so do not expect cupcakes.

Oddly, we were looking for a cup of coffee. We didn’t find it, but what we did find was an amazing old school bakery.
All the breads and sweets are made from scratch using only organic flours, grains and seeds. The hearth baked breads are shaped by hand and baked directly on the oven floor. Not sure how they do it, but the breads contain no added sugars, fats, dairy or eggs. The eggs used in the sweet items come from cage-​free chickens. [I read this off a sign while waiting]
There was one customer in front of us, and after buying what seemed to be one of every item in the store, we finally got our turn at the counter. We had plenty of time to think about what we wanted, so we ended up with a loaf of date oatmeal bread (available Thursday and Saturday), a cinnamon bun (Thu, Fri, Sat), an apricot almond bar and a pumpkin spice bar (bars available daily).
We then hit a Starbucks and on the way home and drank our coffee and ate our sweets in the car.
The sweet thick frosting on the cinnamon bun went great with the coffee. The bun was so good that we dug into the pumpkin spice bar. The bar was not nearly as sweet as the bun and would have gone very well with a hot tea (the coffee tended to over power the flavor of the bar). It was a very delicious treat. Since things were going so well, we just had to give the apricot almond bar a try. It too had the perfect balance of sweet, allowing the natural subtle flavors of the apricot and almond to come through.
We have not tried the bread yet, but I have no doubt it will be every bit as delicious as the sweets we ate in the car.
PS. We’ve been past this place many times too, and this was our first time in. I doubt we will ever drive past the BreadHaus again without stopping… The products are that good! I definitely want to try the «train rolls» and the traditional chewy German pretzel.
