The Lodge at Riverside

Love this hotel! We broke down on the highway just north of Grants Pass and ended up spending he night at the Lodge. Not only were the rooms quite cozy, but when we needed a late check out while waiting for our car to be fixed, they went above and beyond to make sure we had a room to stay in well beyond normal check out time. They helped turn things around and made a bad situation bearable. Also, the complimentary hot breakfast was delicious and the river view rooms, lovely.

I spied this hotel as we drove into town. The office staff is very friendly. Wonderfully remodeled motel. We arrived when the wine & cheese daily event started. We drank our wine by the river in comfy chairs. Our room is quite large with exterior access, with very comfortable beds. We were able to walk a short distance to a restaurant for dinner. We missed the cookies, but breakfast was good. Our room enabled us to bring the plates to our room. I recommend the scones! For a place we stumbled upon, this place is awesome!

Stopped in for a night while cruising PCH1. Cute, rustic property overlooking a river. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Our room was basic & stunk like urine, not sure if it was animal urine or just musty carpet but it was a bit hard to get used to. Restaurant right across the street has a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking Rogue River with mediocre food but we were super tired, so it was a convenient place to grab a meal and suck down some beers.

Brought a car club here in August. Easy to work with. Very nice rooms and the pool was great, almost too warm! They learned we need to be on the road by 7:30 am to make our next destination on time. They VOLUNTARILY opened their breakfast room 15 minutes earlier to give us more time to enjoy breakfast! Very classy and much appreciated. Breakfast was good too! Highly recommend this place.

Beautiful room overlooking the Rogue River. The staff in the Lodge were welcoming and very friendly. Room was updated, nice, with a scenic view from our patio. The breakfast was very good. I’m looking forward to our next visit.

Cute little hotel! We wouldn’t have really stayed here if it wasn’t for our jeep pooping out and needing some tlc from the auto shop. But they recommended this to us and we thought it would be totally expensive. It would’ve been, however they somehow had some deal between them and we got a sweet discount and upgrade. Our room overlooked the river as well as the pool. Had it not been 90+ degrees out, we would’ve hung out on the deck longer. But we came in at perfect timing for cheese and wine. After we finished dinner we came back for a bedtime snack of milk and cookies! Love the lobby with its woodsy feel and animal torsos. Breakfast was ok, but decent enough to get a belly full of warm food.

Great breakfast here. Scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, bagels, coffee, juice, etc. It’s set up in a separate dining area. Very nice ladies that help with breakfast.
The rooms were spacious and clean. Shower and toilet were in a separate room and the sink was in the vestibule which I always like that type of set up.

The room was very big, clean and it had a nice view of the pool and the park across the river. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was great. They did a great job remodeling but it was a little tired looking. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were very soft.
Now for the downside… When we turned down the bed there was a spider… yucky!!! I realize that they couldn’t control that but it made me uncomfortable. Maybe the room went unrented for a while?
Now for the breakfast… It wasn’t as advertised in that it was only barely warm! I believe they tried but it wasn’t very hard. Powered eggs? Really? The best part of the breakfast was the cinnamon rolls and the bagels but no cream cheese? Really?
Would I stay there again? I don’t think so since it wasn’t worth the $ 200 a night.

Amazing experience! Beautiful, rustic setting. Double room was quite large with two wood poster queen beds. Room was beautiful and spacious. Balcony that gave beautiful views over the pool and River. Room was well stocked with everything we could possibly need, including fridge.
I loved the afternoon/​evening wine and cheese reception. There was milk and cookies at night, which is perfect to end the day! Free large, hot breakfast in the morning that was wonderful! The pool was warm and there was a basket of clean towels so you don’t need to use your room towels. Staff is friendly and helpful. I left so happy, I just want to go back!!!

We recently enjoyed a stay at The Lodge at Riverside at the recommendation of my cousin who lives in Grants Pass, and were very happy with our choice. The staff, and most especially Chrystal and Katrina, were wonderful and made us feel right at home. The view of the river and the park from the second floor were good, and it is just a short walk across the bridge to the park. We would definitely stay here again.

My significant other and I stayed in Grants Pass at the Lodge at Riverside on Valentine’s Night after driving up from Redding, California. I’d heard from my SO that the Lodge was an amazing place to stay and I just needed to see for myself instead of looking at pictures he’d taken on previous trips. We booked a room which overlooks the river. The view was so sweet and romantic. It was the perfect place to sit and drink our morning coffee. The rooms are very large and everything was quite clean. I’m in love with the lobby and the entire property altogether. We only stayed one night and checked out after a large and delicious provided breakfast. Anytime I ever come to Grants Pass, I’ll be staying here. The staff was courteous and hospitable which was a pleasant surprise. They offered to talk us through local restaurants and sights which was very useful. Altogether, it was a wonderful trip that I will never forget. The only negative complaint I could possibly have would be the carpet that was pulling away from the walls in our room and the fact that the tech in the rooms (phone, alarm clock, etc) was a little outdated. But that’s nitpicking. The Lodge at Riverside is a wonderful and romantic place that I cannot wait to return to.

A clean place to lay our heads. Beds were comfortable and room spacious. However these rooms are insanely overpriced. We booked online for the «internet rate» of $ 150 ($ 164 after tax). You could have paid about $ 200 for the same room without the discount. My husband walked in to the room and said, «Looks like an old crack motel they’ve remodeled a bit.» I would have to agree. The bathroom window and bath tub look very old. The carpets are stained. They’ve tried to do a nice job but they need some major sprucing up.

My husband and I stayed at the Lodge over a weekend in December. Here is our list of pros and cons:
Pros:
* The room and hotel has recently been remodeled, it is beautiful
* They have a wine and cheese time, and a cookies and milk time in the evenings. The wine was good, the cheese spread was tasty, and the cookies were wonderful!
* The bed was comfortable
* The view of the river was good
* The staff were very friendly
Cons:
* We stayed in the suite on the first floor and whenever the upstairs room did anything involving plumbing (flushing the toilet, running the sink, using the jets on their whirlpool) it was loud in our room; especially the water running through the pipes when they flushed the toilet.
* The whirlpool jets didn’t always turn on.
* Not very many plug-​in outlets. There was also a power strip in dining room, between the wall and the mini fridge, hanging because the cords plugged into it were too short so the power strip couldn’t lay on the ground. I thought that was quite tacky, especially for an expensive suite.
* Other guests were smoking pot in the closed hallway leading to our room, it wafted into our room.
* The buttons on the phone to reach the front office did not work.
* There is no fan in the bathroom; the humidity is causing the paint to look old and peal. A fan is also necessary when sharing a bathroom with other people, no one wants to smell a stinky bathroom.
* Breakfast was only OK, nothing special or different from any other hotel or motel, which is surprising since this hotel is more expensive. Also, breakfast is in a building across from the main hotel, so walking across the parking lot in the rain to get to breakfast.
* The parking lot was awful. It was completely full one night due to an event, so when I got back from getting dinner I had to park across the street.
* No extra amenities for the guests in suites.
Hotel staff did not offer anything to make up for issues we had. I think next time we visit we’ll try out the Redwood.

We stayed in the jacuzzi suite (room 200) for our 30^th anniversary. Truly, one of the most comfortable and well appointed rooms we ever stayed.
Bed was comfy with nice linens, plenty of room with a living room and bedroom and a door that closed and keep out noise, accommodating me being an early riser.
The jacuzzi tub was big enough for two and the bathroom was roomy with a nice make up mirror.
The decks were large and had comfortable deck furniture. The only thing that might have made it better would have been a bar sink & countertop in the dining room area.
Staff were all very nice and accommodating.

Driving into Oregon was simply amazing. The sun going down over the trees was to die for. We decided to stay here as my parents recommended it was worth every penny. When checking in the price online was different, so the extremely kind host beat the price. Using Unilocal I checked in and saved an extra $ 15 which is rad. We unloaded our luggage and got settled in as they told us to come back and get a complimentary glass on wine. I took her up on the offer and she decided to give me a bottle of Pinot on the house as she knew I was a big Unilocaler. Now this service was beyond anything we expected and wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The room… Amazing with river view. Thumbs up you will love this place.

This hotel was beautiful. I stayed in a room with two queens. It had a tv, huge bathroom area with robes, refrigerator, free wifi, coffee maker, and private balcony over looking the beautiful Rogue River. The room was very clean, as it should be. It was modern with a rustic décor and nothing looked like it was deteriorating. Oh, and they also supply Aveda products, which I loved!
In the lobby they have free wine and cheese from around 4 – 7 ish, which was then followed by cookies and milk at night. Super cute. Then in the morning they have a deluxe breakfast spread, way better than most places have.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and sweet. They gave me a great recommendation for a restaurant called Blondies Bistro.

Quiet … peaceful … great location … and Grants Pass ain’t that bad of a place when you’re there for reasons such as work. The room was one of the most cozy I have ever been in – very warm and inviting. If I didn’t spend all of my waking time at work, I would have enjoyed spending a peaceful day overlooking the river while drinking coffee … then wine. I’ll be back … and when I do, I’ll be right here.

I spent what was supposed to be a lovely holiday get away here, visiting my friend who lives in the area. The lobby is gorgeous, But I couldn’t actually get into it with my wheelchair because they kept blocking it off with their «courtesy car» that was parked immediately in front of the only ramp area into the building.
This is one of the most clueless places I have ever stayed regarding disabled access. The disabled room Was small dark and ugly and was the only option I had. It looked like a cheap motel. It felt like a cheap motel. I was really disappointed. I’ve actually had better success at some of the cut rate motel chains in town and after this experience that’s where I’ll be staying when I visit!

This appeared to be one of Grants Pass’ best picks, so we booked a suite here for one night. The main lobby and exterior of the place is reminiscent of a lodge, but the interior of the rooms (even the suite), more like a motel.
The bathroom contained only a window-​paned door allowing for no privacy, but a huge Jacuzzi tub, making up for the loss, accessorized with Rosemary-​mint Aveda products (woo hoo!). The mattress could have been replaced a few years ago, but the silky cotton sheets and luxurious comforter, once again, balanced out the night, creating a pillow of plushness. The air conditioning/​heating wall unit in each room were hard to ignore, yet pleasant when the heat outside was a sweltering 97 degrees.
Throughout our suite, was a continuance of woodsy, lodge– like ambience along with a stone– rock fireplace and a finished, wooden log framed mirror. We had a huge private porch overlooking the hot tub outside, along with the Rogue River and greenery across the way.
We found this place to be serene, remote-​feeling and peaceful, yet as soon as you step out the front lobby, you’re back in the pavement and bustling small town of Grants Pass.
If all the rooms were as cool as this accommodation’s lobby, it would easily jump to a five star rating. The main lobby is adorned with elk, antlers and masculine woodsy cabin ensemble. It made us want to hang out, start a fire in the fireplace and relax on their big cozy leather couch for as long as possible. Their free happy hour for guests included red and white wines (complimentary from the owner’s vineyard in San Diego), along with a wide selection of beers. They even had warm cookies out for later.
One thing I would say needs improvement is their breakfast spread. Biscuits and gravy, sausage along with a few other fatty greasy options. Lots of pastries, Belgian waffles and syrup; all fine and dandy for the masses. But no fresh fruit? Come on people?! All I saw were whole shiny, petroleum covered apples and oranges gleaming under the light. I’m not a fan of either. If you’re trying to get a healthy start, don’t expect it from them.
Like others have mentioned (if you’ve been reading), the service and staff here went above and beyond. In fact, that’s what makes this lodge, all that much more better, even if it was more reminiscent of a motel. We needed all sorts of guidance when we arrived, and we received it eagerly from their friendly staff. Almost every time we walked through, we were prompted if we needed anything else… wine? beer? a cookie? anything? Simply greatness!

Stayed here on a business trip to Grants Pass and couldn’t have been more pleased. Maybe it was the wonderful Southern Oregon Spring weather, but this place just gave off a great vibe. There are only 34 rooms, and all but 2 appear to overlook the Rogue River.
Check in staff was friendly, as well as the eager staff person who pulled up in their truck and immediately jumped out and opened the gate to the rooms to help me out.
They have Wine & Cheese reception (with one free glass of wine) from 430−730pm, Milk & Cookies from 730−9p, and Continental Breakfast from 730−11am. Continental breakfast included hot & cold cereal, hard boiled eggs, bagels, cinnamon rolls, fruit, yogurt, and coffee/​juices. It was definitely good as far as hotel breakfasts go. And given the small amount of rooms, I never had to fight with anyone to get my grub.
When first entering the room I was blown away. The room was extremely spacious and had a hint of Southern Oregon flair (wooden trunk at foot of the bed’ cowboy-​ish lampshades), yet remained sensibly done. The private balcony was incredible, as the blue skies, sun, and river were just what I needed after a long drive. True, the main road is close so there is audible traffic noise, but I chose to not let it affect me. I sent some pictures to my wife and she literally thought about piling the kids in the car and heading down for the weekend.
I feel I can tell a lot about a hotel by the room’s carpet. If i feel i have to walk around in socks or sandals all the time, thats never a good sign. At the Lodge, I found the carpet to be clean, and surprisingly soft by hotel standards. That impressed me. The bathroom was the only pedestrian thing about the room. But it was a bathroom — so who really cares.
There is a little pathway under the Main Street that takes you straight to (less than 1 minute) the Taprock restaurant– a decent place for some grub and brews. Near the restaurant are some steps that take you right down near the water. I stopped here after my meal one night and got one great sunset pictures and the bridge. It was wonderful.
Upon checkout, i receives a never-​expiring coupon for 25% off regular rate Sun-​Thurs. We don’t venture to Grants Pass often (heck, practically never), but I can promise if we do in the future, we will be staying here.
