Here at Acupuncture at Riverside, we specialize in Japanese-​style acupuncture, which is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine but uses fewer and smaller needles. The office specializes in PTSD and other emotional issues; gluten intolerance as well as many other digestive diseases; weight loss; and body pain and inflammation of all kinds.

History

Established in 2005.

Ellen Leonard has been in practice for over 15 years. She had her first clinic in Cambridge, MA, before moving to Grants Pass, OR, in 2004. She has been at her current location for over 10 years.

Ellen grew up in a small village near Buffalo, NY (where it REALLY snows!). She received her undergraduate degree in 1978, a masters in education in 1988, and her masters in acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture in Boston, MA, in 2001. She ran a large clinic in Cambridge until 2004, when she was able to return to the west coast and continue with her work. She has a second degree black belt in karate, and now has 3 hens, 2 koi, and 1 stray cat.

Every Friday morning for the last 9 years she has held a free, 2-​hour clinic for veterans who suffer from PTSD.
