Description

Specialties

The Restful Nest B & B provides a cozy, comfy, casual «home away from home «for the weary traveler, or a comfortable homebase for the vacationer seeking to explore Southern Oregon. We are nestled near the banks of the Rogue River, as it winds through the mountains. Forests of evergreens abound, and look spectacular in winter when storms on the mountains cover them in snow. Summers are beautiful, and a little cooler here, in the shade of the mountain. We are 6 miles to Grants Pass, but it feels far away. Raft Savage Rapids, fish, or pan for gold. I serve full country style breakfasts (old fashioned comfort foods). I love to bake, serving a snack in the evening. Desserts made from apples or berries are my specialty. An affordable place of refuge for singles, families, or couples. Reduced rate for booking both rooms. Also, low rates for extended stays (up to 2 weeks– off season). Visit the Restful Nest — where old fashioned hospitality & value will never go out of style.

History

Established in 2003.

This is a new chapter in my life, a turning of the page. After raising my daughters and seeing them off to Universities, I found myself alone and unsure of the future. So, I left California, risked it all and opened a small, comfortable B & B called the Restful Nest on the Rogue. The business has been steadily growing. I love being self employed, even though it is hard work. The rewards of making friends with so many lovely people is wonderful. You are the best!

Meet the Business Owner

Carolyn A.

Business Owner

I am a Mom to two grown daughters, two sons-in-law, one very special little grandson, and a beautiful little granddaughter with flashing eyes! I am also Mom to several furry faced, 4 legged children (currently 2 dogs and 1cat, 4 Indian Runner Ducks, 2 chickens, and some fish). My zoo changes constantly, so by summer there may be more animals here. They are great companions. I am an avid gardener, collector of antiques, history buff (I have participated in many wagon trains and reenactments), totally addicted to researching my family tree. I love to make soft sculpted dolls, wool felt appliqué, punched and embossed metals, and other crafts and sell them at craft shows. There is a small gift shop in the Garden Shed if you are interested in what I make.

Come visit sometime! I’d love to meet you!
