History

Established in 1905.

Since 1905, Sartor Hamann Jewelers has been the place that people think of first for those special times in their lives. Mr. Ernest Sartor founded the first store which became Lincoln, Nebraska’s first fine jewelry store. A family tradition of fine quality, outstanding expertise and personalized service began. Today, Sartor Hamann continues those family traditions in Lincoln, Grand Island and Fort Collins, Colorado.

In 1955, Mr. Bill Hamann joined Mr. Sartor and created Sartor Hamann. Mr. Hamann’s expertise in watch and jewelry repair and design created a perfect compliment to Sartor’s gem expertise. Lauren Hamann, (Bill’s nephew) joined the company and soon began doing much of Sartor Hamann’s design and crafting work which he continues to enjoy. Lauren is past president of Sartor Hamann, and his expertise as a registered jeweler, watchmaker, goldsmith, and diamond setter are all great assets to the company.
