Worst rental company. Like others’ reviews, if I could give them 0 stars, I would. They were very slow to respond to any concerns about our place, and when they did, they charged us for them (when it was definitely not our fault). For example, I had a several month long debacle over a doorknob that unexpectedly broke one day… should have been a small fix, but it took numerous phone calls to get the billing resolved, and even when I did, they messed it up AGAIN. They like to try to charge you for normal wear and tear of your place. Bottom line, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! They are the scum of the earth.

If it were possible to give no stars I would. I have lived in Isla Vista for four years and have dealt with five management companies and this was the worst experience I have ever had. Dave Russo for no reason really seemed to make my life hell. The apartment had terrible problems with leaking and mold and much of out property was damaged. We had numerous problems with both the apartment and the company itself. Bottom line. Do not rent from bartlein, going to their la cumbre office is worse then the DMV, it is gloomy and miserable and I have never had such horrible service in my life. If you are a property owner please save your renters from misery and do not hire this company.
