A Quality Auto Body and Paint

Great work and paint job done to my honda accord. I was referred to this shop by Robert over at Dimauros because this place is very affordable. I was happy with the quality of service and work! Will send everyone I know over to A Quality.

Unbelievable service. Totaled my vehicle and Rene greeted me with a cup of joe and helped me out with the whole process. He let me keep the vehicle there for over two months with no storage fees and he really looks out for the best interest of the customer. Takes care of the military and I highly recommend.

I was in a car accident with extensive damage and brought my Honda Civic to A Quality Auto Body and Paint for repair and a total body repaint. Rene was very nice and the job looked terrific for almost two years, but I’ve since discovered that THEY DID NOT PRIME MY CAR!!! My paint is now peeling extensively on the hood and trunk and the clear coat on the roof of the car is badly deteriorated. You can see the bare metal where the paint is peeled — there is no evidence of any primer.

I had a bad car accident in mid August. Really BAD UGLY damage to the entire front of my late-​model Mazda mini wagon. I was fortunate to find and use A-​Quality for the repair. From the initial encounter to the last Rene kept me entirely informed about what was going on and how they were progressing with the work. Rene handled all the approval and paperwork with the insurance company and adjuster and everything went very smoothly, even as they found more damage which was not at first apparent to the naked eye. Rene was determined to get the vehicle just right for me with everything like alignment 100% perfect and it was. When I took possession everything was right on, it seemed exactly like a new vehicle. Paint color match and clear coat quality — perfect, ride, handling and steering — perfect, which I find amazing considering the horrible damage that was done to the vehicle in the accident. I would not hesitate to use A-​Quality in the future were I to need auto body work again. Easily 5 stars!

Fantastic experience here — and Rene is a real pleasure to deal with. They went above and beyond our expectations fixing little things AND the paint job on our old van is superb. We couldn’t ask for more. Will recommend and go back again.

I have only been here for an estimate as of yet. Rene was extremely nice and courteous. Explained the process to me, offered different options with the expectations of each, and we even had a nice chat about unrelated topics. What more do you want? Yes, he had the best price in town. I definitely want to come back to him once my issue is settled with insurance. I already recommended him to my friends and they took their cars there.
While I was there, I saw a nice lady come over the shop and gave Rene a cake she baked and asked him to share it with his team. I overheard the conversation, and found out that it was because of how happy she is with the work they’ve done, and because she heard of how difficult it was for them to make it work perfectly.
P. S. If you think it can’t get any better, Rene provided me with contact information of a connection he has to offer me a foot in the door at a big firm I was looking to get a job at!

Rene is one of the classiest guys you could meet, and he and his team do the quality work to back that up. Low costs and a great job means you’re getting the best of both worlds. Don’t expect quality to be done overnight; A Quality takes their time to make sure you get the best of the best, and you’ll be glad you waited. Definitely the place to go in Santa Barbara when you need a great paint job. My 2002 Highlander looks like it just came off the line. Recommended.

I really owe these guys a good review for the great quality work they did on the repaint of my car. After carefully searching for a trustful place to take my car, I finally came across A Quality, and got a really good quote from Rene much lower than everybody else in town I checked. Once I settled on where I was going, Rene was very helpful in helping me through the process of repainting and recommended that I choose the beautiful «maximum steel metallic» color that I repainted my car with that is even better than the simple gray color I was going to go with originally. Once I left my car Rene was very helpful and kept me updated daily on the status of my car, I even got to come and check in the process and see how they really took their time to take everything off and paint it separately and paint the door jams and under the hood really helps the new color look original, and there is no trace of the old silver color. Once the car was done I was very happy with the results and the price I paid, and what is even better is that I can take my car back to Johnny who is very friendly and good at what he does, to detail my car and remove any scratches or do touch ups on my new paint, I’ve already had them repaint my hood again after I scratched it and the matched it no problem you cant tell at all. Over all I am as satisfied as you can be for the great customer service, work and continued support, and I would highly recommend them and go to them again.

Let’s try again here as Unilocal deleted the first review. When I first went to A Quality, Rene was not there but I spoke to Ichung who went out of his way to make me feel welcome. I left with a quote that was the best in the county. After speaking to a number of autoshops that don’t do completes, Rene was happy to help out. They worked out as I worked around the corner and they didn’t mind me coming by to review the progress. A week or so later, they had removed all the dings and dents from college appt living, primered, blocked the whole car and had painted the whole car. It was beautiful. They had attention to detail that I did not see with two other paint shops I worked with in the past (one in SLO and one in the Bay Area). They even spent a whole day buffing the whole car out. I will refer everyone I know to Rene.

The guys at A Quality do a phenomenal job with each car they handle. I had a newer vehicle (2003) that was involved in a front end collision that they were able to restore to a like-​new condition. I received more compliments on how good the car looked after the accident and repair than before. I stopped in to see the work in progress too and simply put; they do the job right. They even touched up an area that was in need of repair at NO EXTRA COST just to help me out.
Customer service is great. René made sure to communicate with me throughout the process and set clear/​fair prices. I shopped around a lot before I came to these guys and I’m glad I did.

My car was recently damaged by a friend who backed into it– The guys at A Quality Auto Body and Paint are absolutely awesome– I didn’t know the first thing about getting it fixed or what was a fair price but Johnny was fantastic at explaining and making it very clear what needed to be done and offering the best and fairest price (very fair compared to all my other estimates). Once my car was there I also decided to get a full paint job– Rene talked me through every step and was always available when I had any questions– My car had rust which prolonged the project but Rene did everything in his power to make the repair as speedy as possible and got my car to me on time as promised! I just got my car back today and its never looked better! These guys are professionals they do fantastic work and I wouldn’t trust my car with anyone else! If you’re looking for a reliable body shop with fair prices and people you can trust this is your place! I’ll definitely go back if need anymore work

This shop was recommended to me after we hit an animal in our car which damaged the bumper, radiator and other essentials. The owner — Rene — was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process and his staff were both efficient and friendly. They helped me figure out my Allstate claim, arranged a rental car and even replaced my headlight without charge. My car is relatively old — eleven years — and after they were finished with it, it looked five years «younger». It was polished, cleaned and smelled like oranges, in addition to the fact that the bumper, radiator and everything else looked great. These guys will take wonderful care of your vehicle. I was very impressed with the service I received especially since this is a very tiny shop that is somewhat difficult to find. In the past I’ve dreaded having anything repaired on my car because it’s challenging to find someone who’s not going to scam you, and after visiting this shop, I feel much more confident that there are actual owners who are honest and value your time and resources. Hopefully I will not need to repair my vehicle anytime soon, but if I do, I will definitely go here!

This place is great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They did an amazing job with a bumper repair, paint and a detail. I was very satisfied with their work, my car looks like new again! I would highly recommend A Quality.

My car was totaled but I chose to keep it. Renee and his team brought my Toyota Solara back to life again! They fixed every ding and major accident damage from top to bottom. They accomplished this in a timely manner. The paint job is superb with a showroom shine! All for what it would have cost to fix the original accident damage! They are perfect for someone looking to get the best deal for their buck!

Turning an unfortunate experience (my fender bender) into a good experience was my experience at A Quality Auto Body. It’s a smaller shop, but the work they preformed for my Volvo was perfect. I had tailgate gate damage to my V70 wagon. They quoted me the best price out of two other shop estimates. The paint match was excellent as was the detail to the body repair. I was also impressed that the job was completed when promised. Though what struck me how incredibly nice everybody was. I spoke mainly to the big bald guy, Johnny — he was great. He called me a few days later to make sure I was happy about everything — I was. A total recommend.

This place was so horrible that I created a Unilocal account just to warn everyone to stay away from this place. This place doesn’t deserve even 1 star. I know this is a very long review, but if you really want a thorough one read on. This is my experience.
As a female I’m very skeptical of autobody shops unless I know someone or someone knows someone and recommends the place, but I had no other options and there are very few places near UCSB. I settle on this place and boy do I regret it.
So I got into an accident on the drive back to Santa Barbara/​Goleta from up north and I didn’t know where to go. I searched online for places and went to get quotes. This place had the lowest quotes and the guy was friendly. Little did I know he was just trying to get cash for the repairs (so he probably doesn’t have to file taxes on them). He sweet talked and joked around with me to get on my good side. And I admit that I actually fell for it.
I had the radiator frame repaired, the hood replaced, 1 headlight replaced, 1 fender replaced, and the front bumper repaired. The fender, hood, and bumper also needed to be repainted after the repairs. Not only was the job mediocre, when I went home and my friend took a look at the paint job he said I was ripped off. The paint was sloppy, uneven, and some parts were still rough (no clear coat). He was nice and repaired some scratches I had on the back bumper and side mirror without charge, but it was a shitty job and it would have been better if he didn’t fix them since it was also uneven and the clear coat was also missing on some of it. I guess he was trying to throw in «extras» for the crappy job he did overall. Overall shitty job + extras instead of nice job on what I needed and was paying for. There was also a piece of tape hanging down from behind the front bumper. I still don’t know what that was from. I pulled at it pretty hard and it came off. He says there’s a guarantee for the work as long as you own the car, but he doesn’t actually want to do the work when you bring your car back.
The paint started peeling off the bumper and hood and all he kept saying was it was road pebbles nicking the paint. «I don’t cover it, but I’ll do it this one time. After that it’s not covered anymore» If you did a good job in the first place there wouldn’t be any peeling. Prior to ever getting any paint/​work done on my car from this place, there was never any peeling or «nicks» in my paint anywhere on my car. After going here, anywhere he painted gets «nicks from rocks»
I should have listened to my friend and went to his friend’s place in LA for a similar price.
So I actually brought my car back for the «repaint» and it was shittier than before. He only painted over the nicks and claimed he spent all this time redoing the front bumper even though it looked shitty and the clear coat didn’t cover the entire bumper. If your shop claims all this expertise in painting you would think it wouldn’t be that hard to take the bumper off, sand it, prime it, paint it. You take the entire part off the car for goodness sake, but NO you only sand some of it down and leave the rest so it looks like the paint is about to peel off as soon as I drive out of your shop.
Customer service was also horrible when I went to pick it up after the repaint. I was trying to reason with him and all he could say was that I wasn’t getting it and he can’t do anymore. Then ran back into his office.
DO NOT COME HERE!!! I repeat DO NOT COME HERE!!! If you care even a little about your car, go next door or down the street to one of the other shops for body repair. It might cost a little more, but at least you don’t have to deal with redos for crappy work.

I had bedliner on my motorcycle fairings (long story, don’t ask). A lot of places here in SB won’t touch it, but Rene at A Quality said that he would give it a shot. They were very reasonably priced compared to shops in LA that I got quotes from. The paint work was pretty good, I would say 3.5÷5.. There were a few blemishes, and the edges were left rough. Body work was good ⁴⁄₅. The worst part about A Quality was communication. They kept promising that different stages would be ready, but pretty much missed all of them. It took 4 days more than they had initially promised. I would say if you were paying out of pocket, I would give them a shot, but if insurance was paying, I wouldn’t go to them.
