At Little Grass Shack we know how to throw a lu’au! We focus on tropical themed parties and provide the best products and services that are authentic and customized with you in mind.

Little Grass Shack is a locally owned and operated company in Colorado specializing in fresh flower Hawaiian leis and much more. We carry leis in stock daily for those last minute orders but we suggest pre-​ordering your leis in advance.

We also offer lei making parties, Polynesian dancing entertainment & shave ice.

History

Established in 2003.

In the winter of 2003 Maile & her father started making leis in a dimly lit, cold garage in hopes of bringing a beautiful part of Hawai’i to the Rocky Mountains. Many Coloradans were not too familiar with fresh flower leis and some had never seen a real one. But over the years business started to take off and since then Little Grass Shack has evolved into a few boutiques in Denver and now, an online store providing adornments not typically found in the landlocked state.

To complete the Hawaiian experience Little Grass Shack started making Hawaiian Shave Ice in 2010. We do events, private parties and can be found at various locations with our shave ice wagon. At the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival we were honored to receive the Culinary food award– 1^st place for best Desert! Private parties have been a success and our clients tell us the shave ice was the hit of the party.

Meet the Business Owner

Maile I.

Business Owner

Colorado native, Maile Inagaki, has drawn from her mother’s roots in Hawai’i and her ancestors in Japan to bring Hawaiian leis and shave ice to Colorado. In 2001 she was a recent graduate of the University of Hawai’i and moved back to Colorado in search of a job. Maile dabbled in the restaurant business as a sushi chef and in the casinos as a blackjack dealer but realized she wanted to be an entrepreneur when she enrolled in a small business management course. After receiving her certificate she decided to take her business and marketing plan and turn it into Little Grass Shack.
