I have hired Mark at Above and Beyond Flooring twice now.
The first was to install over 2000 square feet of pre-​finished teak flooring, including a full set of stairs. Mark did amazing work and was extraordinarily meticulous in every step of the process. In addition to the flooring on this job, he replaced all of my baseboards and door moldings and refinished all the wood parts on my stairs (banisters, handrails, etc.). Not only were his prices competitive, I couldn’t have been happier with the end product.
I was so happy with his work on the first project, I chose to hire Mark again when we bought a 1906 home in Congress Park that needed work. Not only did he do an outstanding job refinishing the floors, he did a great job patching where sections of the floor were missing, repairing baseboards and moldings… he even handmade replacement pieces where there was missing baseboard. I had quite a bit of shoe moldings that were missing (about half), he found a really good match and replaced all of the missing pieces. He handmade custom threshold where needed. He removed paint from moldings where previous owners had been sloppy. I could go on and on.
I have uploaded pics of the first job. He is still finalizing the second one, so I will upload more as soon as complete.
I am a crazy picky client… really… and Mark has exceeded my every expectation. He is a true artisan at what he does and he is awesome to work with. I HIGHLY recommend him!
