Established in 1913.

Whitmarsh Lock & Safe was started by my grandfather in 1913. My father carried the business on until I took over in 1975. We have provided our customers with high quality locksmith services with the focus on value.

We have kept up with the advances in high security locks and decorative hardware as well as the new techniques in the industry.

Business Owner

Bob Whitmarsh, owner of Whitmarsh Lock & Safe, has been involved in the family locksmith business since he was about 10 years old. He helped his

dad in keeping store hours, answering the phone, and waiting on customers.

Bob also had a career for 12 years in the Engineering field after graduating from Northeastern University.

In 1975, Bob took over the family business and developed the first mobile

locksmith shop in the area. Bob added high security locks and expanded the inventory to better serve Whitmarsh’s customers.

Bob became a member of the Massachusetts Locksmiths Association in 1977 and became Chairman of the Education Committee. Later he joined the ALOA (Associated Locksmiths of America) where earned the rating of Certified Professional Locksmith. Bob was an instructor at the Yankee Security Convention.

In 2009, Bob earned a Certification in Historic Preservation from the Boston Architectural College to provide to his customers a sensitivity in preserving their homes.
