This is now NERDBURGER. This place is awesome. The staff was friendly and the burger was on point. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the view of Hill Street High School. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in Globe!

3.5 stars but rounding up. George’s Hamburger Shop is a little bit hard to find. It’s a tiny little building with the letters«GHS» on the side. The interior is pretty run-down and the tables inside are a little unkempt but I was willing to put that aside if the food was good. My bf and I ordered 2 junior cheeseburgers, 1 double cheeseburger, 1 large curly fries, 1 large shoestring fries and 1 chocolate milkshake. I recommend just getting 1 junior cheeseburger and a small fries if you’re someone like me and don’t have a huge appetite. My bf really enjoyed the chocolate milkshake and his burger. He said it was one of the better burgers he’s had in awhile. It’s a pretty classic American cheeseburger, if not a little greasy. The chocolate milkshake was quite good — very creamy and thick and chocolatey. The shoestring fries are pretty thick(not very skinny) and they got stale really quickly but the curly fries were pretty classic and good. Overall, a pretty good burger place in town if you don’t feel like going to McDonald’s or Sonic’s.

We chose this place based in previous Unilocal reviews. We were wary at first because the place looks really run down(there isn’t even a sign). But we put our faith in Unilocal. The place was filthy. Lots of flies, disheveled, junk here and there. The food was just OK; the fries were the best. George is a lovely man but, wow, he really needs to clean the place up. My friends and I all had to use the restroom and it was truly disgusting. You have to walk through the kitchen to get to the restroom and it left us wondering if the place is ever inspected. Piles of dirty dishes. We felt mostly ok about the food since it was all cooked. George was nice, but I don’t think I’d ever go back. And I will second guess Unilocal reviews for hole-in-the-wall places like this.

I loved this place. It was recommended to me from my friend, Zach. It’s a little place off the highway, but it advertises with a fire truck, which is really nifty. The service was great — the cook is so friendly and fun, and the burgers are cooked right there in front of you! The burgers were SO good. Check it out at least once! You won’t be disappointed!

We were driving to Pinetop from Tucson and wanted to eat somewhere half way. We found this gem on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. A little out of the way place, even though it’s in town(Globe is a tiny town), that is filled random odds and ends and small seating area. The burgers, fries, and shakes were delicious. Everything made when ordered, so no old, soggy, or reheated anything. Highly recommend stopping by on your way through Globe for some really good food.

I wanted a small local mom/pop kind of place that makes me feel good… Oh, and some great food. I was thrilled to find this place. Passed it once, and then found it again by navi… The food was great. The cool old memories brought on by the atmosphere, and the old restaurant item displays on the wall… Then… There was«George». Delightful, informative, and just a pleasure to sit and talk with. You have a choice of great burgers, and other sandwiches, etc.(green chili is a must), and I haven’t tried the Mexican food yet, but that will be my next choice.) I also noticed a small patio off of the small dining area, and we will try that as well. I’m hoping it’s dog friendly. :) This place is about 50 mi from my house, but I travel through this area on some of my trips, plus I love the old charm of the town and some of the shops. This is a definite place to stop… and just a stone’s throw from S.R. 60 through AZ! do yourself a favor and find it!

George’s Hamburger Stop is a classic hole-in-the-wall. We were happy to support a local business rather than a corporate fast food chain, but the food quality seemed on par with McDonald’s

Went here for the first time– and I love it! George took care of me, was super nice and funny. I had the junior cheese burger and fries upon some other customers suggestion and it was very good! I can’t wait to go back to try something else.

Great burgers! Globe is all about Mexican food so this is a great treat. We moved a few things around and ate our burgers outside with our dog. It worked out perfectly because we were there at the same time as the local kids were out of school for lunch. The place was packed with teenagers. If you’re in town and want a great burger, see George. He was there in person and came out, sat down and chatted with us.

George’s you def get what you pay for — — — -and how! Funky looking hole in the wall which says ‘locals’ but their food is quite tasty.

We stopped for lunch — each had one of those awesome grilled hamburgers with french fries. Everything was delicious. The buns were even hot. We will definitely stop by again — maybe try the Mexican fare! Just a little hole in the wall — literally, but excellent!
