It took me years to find a consistently great place and person to do my hair, and I am so happy I met Eunice via a reference for wedding hair. On Stage has been my salon of choice for the past 2 years, and I HIGHLY recommend and love Eunice! She can do it all so well… color, haircut, and style! Eunice did my hair, as well as my entire bridal party on the day of my wedding, and everyone absolutely loved their hair. You can show her any picture, and she is amazing at duplicating a style, and adjusting so that it works on your hair. If you are new to On Stage, and want a sure thing, ask for Eunice!

Great place. I have been coming here for years, because of karen. I have very thin hair and she always makes it look great. Highly recommend her. Would not think of going anywhere else.

I have to admit, I am very picky about my hair. It seems no one that I go to can give me what I want. Then I found Cheryl. I have been going to see Cheryl at On Stage for years now and have been happy with her work each and every time I leave her chair. She takes the time to talk to me about what I want and works her magic, checking in with me along the way. If I don’t like something, she fixes it no problem and without making me feel like I am wasting her time. I would recommend her to everyone. In addition to Cheryl, I also have frequent contact with the wonderful ladies that wash hair, and the helpful people that attend the front desk. Everyone that I have interacted with at On Stage has been warm and inviting. I will definitely continue getting my hair cut here.

I have been coming here forever! Kathy K cuts mine, my moms, my aunts, sisters and three of my cousins, as well as one my cousins sons hair. She is phenomenal and always keeps up on what is going on in the industry. I always feel comfortable telling her to do whatever she wants because I have never received a bad cut or color from her. Love this place and Kathy!

Great experience at the salon with Marisa! I got a haircut and blonde highlights, I was so happy with both! She did an absolutely amazing job! Very, very highly recommended. You will be so happy with the results!

I’ve been struggling with finding a good haircut without spending tons of money. Toni knew exactly what my hair needed. My hair is thick and kind of wavy/​curly and she gave me a cut that really makes it easier to style. I am definitely going back for my next cut.

I’ve had some serious bad luck finding someone who can successfully create the high intensity red I prefer for my hair. I’ve been through THREE stylists within a month trying to match what I formerly had from an angel who is no longer in the biz :(
So I tried On Stage with much skepticism, but Marissa took the challenge and nailed it! So happy with her coloring skills.
First time I’m a repeat customer in so long, I’m delighted I finally found someone who knows their craft. Thank you! I highly recommend.

On Stage did our wedding party’s hair and makeup for nine people this past weekend. From the moment we contacted them until our last person walked out the door, they were extremely professional and organized. The morning was completely painless. Mary did my hair (MOB) and I have never received so many compliments. Each girl was pleased with her hair style and makeup. They even provided bagels and refreshments for the girls. I can’t thank them enough and highly recommend them for a wedding party.

Wont ever go anywhere else. There is a family feel and everyone is always helpful. We had an issue last minute for our wedding last fall. They helped me out and all of my girls (and myself) had beautiful hair and makeup.

I moved up North so I’m trying to find the best places around here since it’ll be hard for me to head into the city now that I’ve got 2 LOs. I’ve driven past this place a million times so I figured I’d give it a shot plus they offered a coupon for first timers @ 20%. I ended up paying $ 40 vs. $ 50. I should have not been suckered in and kept driving past this salon.
The salon wasn’t anything fancy and somewhat cheesy — reminded me of a cross b/​t the Mario Tricoci school and the Teddie Kossof salon. There’s lots of seats but not all the seats were filled. I wonder if this place used to be a bustling one or if it was b/​c I went during the weekday. It was clean but lifeless. Much of the clientele were older women getting their tight perms that day.
I was on time for my appointment and got in right away so that was a plus. I hate arriving at my appointments right on time or 15 minutes early (as requested) and having to wait to get in — then what’s the point of arriving early just to sit there and twiddle your thumbs? I was directed to get my hair shampoo’d and conditioned by the shampoo women. The woman who shampoo’d my hair was friendly until I got that question some post pregnancy women hate — so when are you due? I was kind b/​c I know sometimes people don’t know the etiquette and just told her that I already had my kid. She must have been embarassed b/​c I didn’t hear much from her after that.
Here’s why I’m passing on this place:
The girl who cut my hair seemed very nice but her cutting skills weren’t anything to rave about. I don’t really get much done w/​my hair cuz I’m all about low-​maintenance care but asked to get layers in my hair since I wanted a change from getting the usual trim. The way she started my layers was interesting but I would not get that type of layering performed on me again. She brought some of my hair to the front and (she did warn me that it looked like a lot was going to be cut off but it wasn’t) cut it as if I was going to get a ton of blunt bangs. It didn’t turn out that way but now the back of my head didn’t look so great (checked it out afterwards — not at the salon). The layers don’t fall well so it looks like an inexperienced stylist did my hair. She continued to cut my hair in silence … which is fine by me b/​c I’m not that much of a talker and thought she was really focusing on my hair, but that’s because she must have had something to do after me. Possibly a lunch date w/​a friend — A girl came into the salon and they talked briefly. She told me earlier that after she blow dried my hair that she would make adjustments if necessary. Well, when she was done, she didn’t even ask me anything. She’s like, ok — thanks for coming in and started taking off the drape but I stopped her cuz my bangs were too long. She cut them as I requested but I could tell she wanted to be done cuz she didn’t even have me check the back of my hair (that was my fault!). What stylist forgets to do that? I should have reminded her but it completely slipped my mind.
After she brought me up to the cashier, she met up with that friend and that was the end of the transaction.
That was the end of doing business with this salon. I paid way too much for a Bo-​Rics/​Great Clips haircut.

I have recieved a mani/​pedi-​which was relaxing… but felt very rushed. I also had my hair cut/​styled, it didn’t seem anything out of the ordinary-​and I prob wouldn’t pay that much for a simple cut again.
I do LOVE getting my brows done at On Stage-​I got them done once there not so great, but I have gone back repeatedly for ANGIE, she’s amazing and knows the eyebrows you need for your face-​I highly recommend her!

I wanted this place to blow my socks off… fail.
I came in with a friend on a Sunday (yay for being open on a Sunday!!) to get a spa mani/​pedi. We were the only two there getting our nails done at the time so we got our services done together, which was nice. This should have been a 4 or 5 star experience, but my fingernails look like a child painted them :(My toenails look just OK.
I don’t get it. The spa part of the mani/​pedi was awesome. It was soothing and relaxing, but I can’t get past the fact that I could paint my nails better. Talk about disappointing! Luckily, this was just for fun and not for any particular occasion.
Positives:
+ relaxing mani/​pedi
+ paid before my nails were painted so as not to mess them up
+ got 20% off for being a first-​time customer
Negatives:
— POOR polish job
— can’t add tip to credit card

I had Tina do my hair for my wedding, and she was great. For my trial, I showed her two pictures, and I told her that I wanted a combination of the two, but I wasn’t really sure how it would work. She looked at it for a few minutes, and then just got started. It turned out great, and there were just a few small changes I wanted for my actual wedding.
Fast forward to my wedding day, which was about a month later. I brought in pictures of my hair from my trial, and she said «oh I don’t need those, I remember what we did» — and she certainly did! She made the changes we talked about, and my hair looked exactly the way I wanted it to, and it held up ALL NIGHT.
I can’t speak for the other stylists there, but I highly recommend Tina!

Since I moved up here I’ve been looking for new places to get myself prettied up, and, on the suggestion of other people on this site, I decided to book myself an appointment at the On Stage Salon and Spa this morning to get a partial highlight and a trim.
So now, for a list of plusses and minuses…
+ The stylist was very friendly with me and tried to make me feel comfortable in the salon.
+ She brought out the color book and matched my higlights to the ones I already have perfectly.
+ She took my screwed up hair and made it look good. She also made it so that it can grow out and look good while doing so. Two pluses for that.
— The stylist was late to work. Not very late, but late enough to leave me sitting in the front lobby waiting for her to come in a hair coloring smock.
— After being late, she, and the other women who were working there, spent 10+ minutes trying to fix the TV so that I could watch a show that I didn’t even ask to watch.
— There was a strange old man walking around the salon, drinking a cup of coffee, mid-​afternoon on a monday. I didn’t know what he was doing there or if he really belonged there, but I smiled at him as he spoke to me…
…and then there is the big negative… the bill. I’m surprised, especially with how easy my haircut/​color was, that it cost so much.
But my hair looks hot and it looks like it’ll be easy to maintain… so i like On Stage, but I really prefer Robert Jeffrey on Halsted. That’s the place that I would go if I still lived close enough by…

WAXING: ASK for Angie, she’s simply the best, not only because of her talent but she has the best personality everrr! She is the best in the biz and will show you that once you see her work, I always get the most amazing compliments on my brows ever since she has been doing them which has almost been for about 7+ years.
Diane and Emily are also great for waxing, I would truly recommend both girls. You will absolutely not go wrong.
Nails: all they nail techs are amazing, The always takes their time, and make sure im always happy!
Hair: all the stylist are phenomenal, I have been to 5 different stylists and have never not been satisfied.
Front Desk: Always friendly and super nice!

25 bucks for a great haircut. My stylist Andrea is great she even stayed late for me a few times I really appreciate that. The staff is very pleasant even the shampoo women.

I’ve been going here for more than 5 years whenever I need a manicure/​pedicure. Everyone here is extremely friendly and they’ll make sure you have a pleasurable experience throughout. I highlighted my hair once and I have to say it wasn’t done right. They have a older clientele so their cuts/​coloring don’t work well if you want to look hip & young. I do have to agree that prices are very cheap here.

Wow, this place a bit of a drive for me — but WELL WORTH IT! I will make two recommendations: Need your eyebrows done? Request «Angie»…she is detailed and makes sure your eyebrows are even and fit your face structure! Well worth the $ 15. Those $ 5 shops are a give and take kinda deal but with Angie — guaranteed perfect everytime! Need your hair done? Try «Effie». She’s young but has been doing hair for 4 years and knows what she’s doing — my hair came out exactly how I wanted. She was able to control my crazy curls. It cost me only $ 35. Great prices for great service… I love this place!
