What I SHOULD do is write a bad review, then Sako wouldn’t be so overworked! But the reason he is so busy is he does great work at reasonable prices. I’ve seen the few bad reviews here and I guess things didn’t work out for these guys but I can tell you we are very glad our friend recommended him to us nearly ten years ago. All our family’s cars (five) go to Sako for everything from oil changes and tires to a rebuilt transmission. Very happy with his work, prices and service. He always takes the time to explain exactly what was wrong with the vehicle. I’m a mechanical engineer, my wife is decidely not mechanically minded but we both feel that Sako treats all his customers honestly and fairly. Now he has help in the office so he will have time to squeeze your car in!

Horrible service. Two friends recommended them as they had used Sako when they were younger. I brought my Jeep in and said I wasn’t in a hurry to get it back. TWO MONTHS later I got it back. Some things were fixed but some didn’t get fixed. The bill was very vague. After two months of using it occasionally I noticed the balance cover gasket was leaking. I called to setup a time to have it repaired under the 12 month/12,000 Mike warranty and was told to bring it in.
After many phone calls and badgering (over one month elapsed) on the status I am here picking up the Jeep with nothing done to it except to steam clean the engine to find the leak. It’s ridiculous and unprofessional.
The parking lot is always full and you’ll hear things like «leave me your number because I lost it and how long will you be gone?»
This is a poorly managed place and I will not be back except to deliver the bill from another shop to do the warranty work. If Sako doesn’t pay that then we can meet in Small Claims Court.

awesome service. My whole family goes there for auto service. Prompt efficient and cost effective auto service. Sako even came out to my house and gave me a free jump one morning last year. Rides to and from home via his dad. I cant say enough good things about this facility.

I was referred to Sakos by a client of mine. I had my car towed there and he checked it out. Told me it would be $ 1800 total I said fine but 2 weeks and $ 2600 later. I’m not so sure about him. When I picked up my car my hand break was not working anymore had to have that fixed and I remember Sako telling me the part was $ 212 ea. he had charged me $ 318. so I checked with the dealer and sure enough it was $ 212. He gave me $ 600 back but that still isn’t the complete difference in the prices plus at a higher cost you pay more tax I didn’t get that difference and the difference between $ 1800 & $ 2600 still don’t know where that came from especially when the $ 1800 was supposed to be for everything. There was not a call to tell me it would be more money either. He also told me my back brakes were bad I had another mechanic look at them and they told me they were fine. Soooo I would keep my eyes and ears wide open with this guy, for me I don’t trust him I think he’s a thief that seems nice.

I took my Toyota truck to Sako’s after it did not pass emissions test. Sako took the time to explain a couple of possible problems, and I went ahead with the first repair the diagnostic computer suggested. That solved the problem partially, however Sako continued to troubleshoot the truck at no extra charge until all the remaining error codes were cleared and the truck passed the emissions test. I am very happy with the experience, and I felt that I was treated with honesty and respect. I highly recommend this man and his shop.

I started going to Sako’s based on a recommendation from a family friend and I have been taking my cars to Sako’s for six years now. He is honest and will take the time to explain what needs to be done. He would never try to «sell» me on something that didn’t need to be done. His prices are reasonable and he does great work. I’ve recommended him to a few friends and they’ve all made the switch. Thanks Sako!

Solid honest vehicle work for a fair price. They put new tires on my 30′ C class RV and changed the oil twice.

Sako and staff does a great job of keeping our old cars running well. Prices are good and service is done right. They will tell you if you really dont need the work and can wait on something also.
They work on all kinds of cars, but are really experts on classic American cars (the older the better) and Japanese cars.

i tried Sakos a few years ago because my brakes sounded horrible. i explained the problem to him and had him check it out and do an oil change. When i got back later that day, he charged me for the oil change and told me that the particular brake pads i had on were indeed making noise, but they were fine and had 60% of their pads left.
AT THAT POINT I KNEW I HAD FOUND MY MECHANIC FOR LIFE.

The best mechanic I have ever found. Always honest, tells you exactly what is wrong what you need to do, don’t need and probably don’t even need to worry about. He is also willing to explain the issues too and if possible will give you options. Prices are very good too! I never met anyone who has gone to him that has anything but praise. That is from both people who know cars to people that do know anything at all about them.

When you find a good mechanic, never let him go. Honest, Trustworthy and does good work.

Sako been working on my cars for years. I trust him more than anyone I know. If your car breaks down (Mine rarely do), just tell the tow truck driver to take it here and Sako will fix you up for a fair prce.

Sako is like the cool uncle who works on cars that you wish you had. He is very honest, tells you what needs to be fixed and what can wait. Fair prices. You are never once pressured into repairs let alone unnecessary work, he is just upfront and genuinely wants you to be happy. Definitely treats you like family. I would never go to anyone else even if it was half the cost. Harry, Sako’s dad, who gives local rides home, is a sweetie too. Ask him about his travels.

Sako is honest and is a mechanic you can really trust. I have a really old car and he is the only mechanic that didn’t laugh at me or ask me why I have such an old car. That is why he gets my business and also because his prices are reasonable and he knows his stuff!

The best… very honest, fair, and understanding… also for us who don’t know much about cars he takes the time to explain everything…

ATTENTION ALL SINGLE WOMEN WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CARS! If that’s you OR you just appreciate an honest mechanic, Sakos Automotive is your place! My parents are in a completely different state so my dad can’t bargain and haggle on my behalf like he used to (bummer). Thank the Lord I introduced to Sako! He takes up and takes care of me like he would his own daughter. He is ALWAYS kind and goes above and beyond for me. He allows me to drop my car off in the morning, go to work, and has it completed by the end of the day (as long as it’s not major work). He is 100% honest and prices are set competitively and reasonably! What a great mechanic! Love this guy and highly recommend him!
Also! He shares a lot with a smog testing center who I have also used– he is great too! Talk about a one stop shop! Don’t just take my word for it! Experience the difference– you won’t go back to anyone else!

We love Sako — we’ve taken all three of our cars here along with many friends we’ve converted to Sako fans. I echo the prior reviewer — he’s very honest, and charges fair prices. He also does great work! I dropped a friend off to get her oil changed, and while I was picking her up he noticed my brake light was out. He fixed it on the spot, no charge!

ruthlessly honest, fair prices, and they stand behind their work. it don’t get much better than that. i had them replace a clutch. a week later it started to feel «funny» i took the truck back, he drove it, didnt like it, swapped the clutch out, no argument.
