I have just had the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Starbucks or Barnes and Noble.
I come in the store occasionally to have some dessert after the gym. As soon as I walk in, I am greeted by some dirty looks from ‘Kate’ who has blonde hair. She gave me a disrespectful attitude as I was ordering my refreshment and dessert. I immeditely felt a great amount of hostility from her for whatever reason she might’ve had. I feel like as if I’ve been a victim of discrimination. Does a long time returning customer of the Barnes and Noble/​Starbucks franchise deserve this?
Furthermore, as I was eagerly waiting for my drink to enjoy with my dessert, my name was not written on my refreshment, and it had been sitting on the counter for what seemed to be 10 minutes until I saw it with my own eyes sitting there. My name was not announced and I had to go up and ask if it was my drink. Again, with her disrespectful attitude, she replied «yes» in a very rude tone.
If that’s not bad enough, the whole time I was there, I recieved numerous dirty looks coming from Kate. I felt as if I wasn’t welcome because of the color of my skin; hopefully that’s not the case. Nevertheless, I will never bring my business or my aquaintences to this Starbucks ever again.
Mickayla, on the other hand, was very polite, respectful and always has been to me.

In general, I haven’t had too much trouble at this store, but today they really aggravated me… did you know that their return policy is only 2 weeks? That’s ridiculous! 2 weeks at Christmas time? I hadn’t even given the gift yet! Do they know that they are in competition with Amazon? There isn’t one thing in that store that I can’t find online…

I really try to like Barnes & Noble but every time I come here, they just find some new weird way to be annoying– this last trip just kind of did it in for me. I didn’t realize their Starbucks just flat out don’t take Gift Cards, every time I’ve gone to the Montclair location, they’ve just lied to me and said «Our scanner is broken.» At least the Glendora location was polite enough to be honest but… That’s lame. Oh & you can only pay in their main store with one form of payment… I had a Visa Gift Card & wanted to know if I could pay the additional cost with cash– nope! Super annoying, what year are their machines living in? Even Sally’s Beauty Supply takes two forms of payments for one transactions & their equipment is like Stone Age.
I’m done trying. They never have what I want, everything is super expensive & the GC thing is lame.

I always love coming here! Used come here when I when I would study in school and just to hang out with friends and relax. I enjoy this place more than going out to eat or going to a bar its nice most of the time and quiet (except fri/​sat/​sun b/​c all the kids r out n about) it’s a nice to be able to go out n just unwind over a tea/​coffee n at times a snack n it’s always nice to go out n study here so you can stay awake! Also buy books here too super chill location n most of the managers r nice too!-)

freindly staff, lots of items in stock, their prices are a little more in store so i would suggest shopping on their site before going in.

It has a very wide selection of books. I like that the Starbucks has Cheesecake Factory desserts. The staff is all ways friendly and the coupons are great.

One of the last barnes and noble bookstores around. Awesome place. If you love basking in the twilight that is literature, come here. The staff are definatly unique as well as the baristas. I love coming here to read and enjoy coffee. A great way to let your mind relax.

Nice and quiet but the least helpful staff. I asked for a book on dinosours. I got the usual «we don’t have specific dinosours» blah blah. I said ok can i order a book I saw on line? The response was «that’s online»!!! No suggestions NOTHING NOT EVEN LET’S SEE WHAT WE CAN FIND! NO WONDER BOOKS STORES ARE CLOSING. GOING TO AMAZON…

I love this Barnes
The baristas inside are amazing like really really cool. The Barnes staff super friendly and knowledgeable and they put up with riff raff either I will continue to frequent this location for as long as things don’t change I recommend this location.

The food is great-​especially for a bookstore café. Used to come here all the time to do homework when I was a student.
They have Cheesecake Factory desserts that are of course way too good. I really like the pizzas. The soups are tasty when the weather cools down.
You can’t use Starbucks gift cards or earn stars towards your gold card but you can use Barnes and Noble gift cards.
You can generally find a table unless you just come at the absolute peak hours. There is seating outside as well.

I like this location. It is a nice large store. I do wish they had a more of a metaphysical section. The bathrooms are ok. They can use a big of cleaning up. The store is ok as far as the quiet level. The coffee bar is always nice and convenient. The store is usually busy and they also still have a large selection of books for discounts. This locatrion is near my job so it is conveniant for me to stop by when needed …

I’m so glad to have one of these by my house. It’s one of the last chain bookstores left! Great employees, along with a coffee place inside. Great variety of books, and there’s music, movies, and magazines.
If you decide to get a membership (which I suggest you do), You get a decent discount on your purchase.

I absolutely love being able to come here to relax in the café and do some leisurely reading. The bookstore is in a nice plaza in Glendora and has lots of places to shop and eat nearby. The staff is always very helpful and nice, so that’s a huge bonus!

How amusing that many reviewers complain about the teenagers going to B&N (I’m sorry, why are you complaining about teenagers going to a bookstore?) and here I am, a teenager, reviewing one of my favorite stores in the plaza.
The variety of products in the store is amazing. I usually go to B&N for novels and journals/​pencils. The layout is simple and I can usually find every book I want quite easily. Their philosophy section in particular has more variety than I’ve seen in other stores. I even found a nice Kierkegaard anthology!
The gift/​journal section has a some art supplies (pencils, charcoal etc) – everything I’ve gotten is good quality.
The café is great. I normally get either their decaf coffee or a latte.
My only complaint: the books are a bit pricey, but I can find everything I need and the B&N membership gives you a pretty sweet discount.

I love this Barnes and Noble! It’s pretty big, clean, well stocked and well maintained. The staff all are super helpful, friendly and on top of things. I’ve gone here a few times just to hang out and read. On other occasions I’ve paid this place a visit for gifts. I love receiving books as gifts and giving them as gifts as well. Bought a graduation gift here as well as a few others to add to my collection (even though I have a kindle, I still like to read actual books too). I also enjoy that this place is decently quiet and not over baring with weird random smelly people (Other locations tend to have some of those around =X) Anyways, this locations is well stocked as I mentioned before and if for some reason they do not have your books, they are happy to place an order for you. Magazines, children’s books, non fiction, fiction and even educational books, art stuff, cards, this place has it. Make sure to grab a coffee, go check out some cool music in the music section and explore the store. Although the seating options are sort of limited, I’ve yet to have any trouble ever finding a seat.

Generally, I love B&N! This location seems to be the only one (so far) that I am least fond of and it sucks because it’s the closet one to me.
I come here sometimes to study or read a book/​magazine while sipping some Starbucks brewed coffee. This is nice IF you find a seat. (Yes, please NOTE they only BREW Starbucks coffee. They DO NOT take Starbucks cards). So those of you Starbucks gold members may want to keep this in mind). But then again, this policy applies at all B&N’s.
As I mentioned above, there is limited seating. (It’s found mostly in the café, but not as much throughout the store as when it opened).
NOTE [#2]: THERE ARE ZERO OUTLETS HERE. If you decide you want to come here and study, make sure your computer is fully charged before making the trip.

It’s next to shops I enjoy shopping in, SOME yummy eateries, a 24 hour fitness, my go-​to massage envy and the AMC theater. :]

Barnes & Noble! The largest book retailer in the nation. Not too many B&N bookstores have survived the E-​Book era. Good old fashion paper books will one day be no more.
I’m so glad to have this Barnes & Noble in my local neighborhood. This B&N is absolutely awesome. Very well maintained with a wide variety of books of many subjects. The magazine section is well organized which is where I hang out at right next to the indoor Starbucks. The associates are extremely helpful and courteous. The store is located next to Best Buy and a AMC movie theater with many restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. Did I mention they also have a Starbucks right inside with very comfortable seating? Definitely worthy of 5 star rating.

It pains me to only give 2 stars so I upped it to 3… but they really are like a 2 ½.
The reason its not 5 stars is the blonde lady who works the floor and the «help» desk. As long as I don’t need help from her, this place is 5 stars. When she’s around, its 1 star.
She is the rudest person, I swear. How in holy heck she works in customer service is beyond me. She really needs to be in cubicle somewhere with no human contact whatsoever.
Several times now, I have asked for help in finding something and she has either ignored me or «helped» me begrudgingly. The last time I was there, my heart sank as I walked up to the help desk and saw her. She was telling another employee something… now, in a customer service business, no less of a dinosaur of a place – a BOOK store– that’s losing customers everyday due to economics and technology, wouldn’t ya think you’d jump at the chance to service a paying customer? Not her… she just takes her time, talking to the employee, doesn’t even acknowledge me standing there, waiting… waiting… I had to wait until she walked away an then had to get the employees attention. Guess she’s passing on her great habits to everyone else in there too.
Also, another time, a few years back, she was mean to my teen and her buddies. They weren’t doing anything wrong, they were just discriminated against. I did go in and tell her but a lot of good that did.
Also reducing starrage is the fact THEY TOOK AWAY all the comfy chairs. Now there’s just the hard bench near the window and usually there’s a homeless person babbling gibberish or sleeping there. Shame.
I will say, however, the employees working the register have always been pleasant and friendly. There’s one in particular who is such a sweet, genuine, happy person she usually can erase the bad vibe of the mean one.

It is hard to find a physical book store. This one is great.
HUGE selection, a Starbucks (if you need a snack), lots of parking!
A great place to kill time if you are waiting to see a movie.
Friendly and helpful people too.
